Awsome!
This book is very good! we read it in reading at school one time!

Let the Aardvark beware
In this, another great book by Marc Brown, children can learn vicariously through Arthur about money management, and specifically, how hard it is to earn money and how easily it is lost. These, ( the Arthur and D.W. Books), are great books, and more up to date than most children's books.

Book Review for Arthur's Valentine
I liked the book because i can remember the first valentine that i received from a girl. I was happy like Arthur was, but didn't want everyone to know about it. In the story, Arthur gets a valentine from his secret admirer. He didn't know yet who it exactly was. He gets another one from the same person. The second one says for him to meet her at the movies. If you read this story, you will find out who sent him the valentine.

Teasing should be ignored.
When people tease you about things, it is best to ignore them and keep focused on your goal. I enjoyed this book very much.

Groooovy baby!
Isaac Asimov has such a delightful wit that even his explanations of archaic terms are fun to read. When combined with W.S. Gilbert's hilarious librettos, it makes one entertaining read. Actually, it makes more than one entertaining read. i have read it several times and still enjoy it.

A delight for Gilbert & Sullivan fans
Writer Martin Gardner once told Isaac Asimov that if he really wanted to have fun, he should find a book he liked very much and annotate it. "Asimov's Annotated Gilbert & Sullivan" is one of the results of that suggestion. This enormous volume contains the words to all the G&S operas, plus extensive notes explaining allusions and words that might be unfamiliar to today's listener. Asimov assumes minimal knowledge on the part of the reader, so this book is useful and entertaining not only for the veteran G&S aficionado but also for the neophyte.

Awesome
This was one of the best books I have read in the course of my dissertation work. I'd say it is a must read for anyone in the health care profession, as well as patients battling chronic symptoms. The book is a reminder that we need to remember the PERSON who is the patient.

He gave me the courage to risk hangin in there for others..
Arthur Frank doesn't deny any aspect of his experience, and through his demonstration of bare-bones honesty and self acceptance, I connected with myself, which is where the answers, if there are any, are to be found. I saw my own fear of cancer patients played out on these pages, and I recalled with anguish the number of times I disappeared from the lives of people I cared about because I was so afraid of their disease, their pain and the possibility that they'd die. ...and I also saw the ways in which I've protected myself from my own fear of cancer by wondering what it was in their psyches that caused them to be stricken by this terrible disease. ... and I saw how frightened I've been to be present in my own body. His honesty gave me the courage to change, and I'm incredibly grateful. Patti Harada, Tucson, AZ.

It takes guts to stand up against the establishmentand never apologize for it.We need more guys like him.

Awakening Our Self-Healing Body-: A Solution to the Health Care Crisis

excellent rationale for "allowing" the body to heal itself
I ordered this book because I am very interested in how the body heals itself.

Through reading the book, I learned more about how to get out of way of the body and let it heal itself than I did about how the body actually heals itself. But if it's better health you are seeking, this is much more important than theories anyway.

As the first reviewer mentioned the book is packed full of information. Art Baker knows what he is writing about; you can see it has been an integral part of his life for a long time.

The section on the history of the Natural Hygiene movement is excellent, and is alone worth the price of the book.

If you are thinking about alternatives to Western medicine, frustrated with the standard approaches to health or wondering what you can do to promote your own well-being, this book is for you.

A Fantastic Book on Healthy Healing
If you are want the answers to the mysteries of health and healing, then read this book. This book is jammed pack with interesting, valuable, and important information on health, healing, and disease everyone should know, but few do. Even I, who have studied natural healing for 30 years, learned a ton in this book and enjoyed every word of it. This book summarizes the history of health care evolution in this country, informs us on the dangers of the treating disease, and provides a healthy alternative based on the Science of Natural Hygiene, which Baker summarizes better than I've ever seen done before. We need more authors who dare to speak the truth like Baker does. This book is a classic in its own time and deserves be on every family's book shelf. Get it while you can.

One of my best reads ever!
I highly recommend the reading of this book for both religious and non-religious people alike. It is thought provoking, entertaining, and probably for some, life changing. It honestly is one of those books that years from now, when you are sitting around with your friends talking about memorable books and movies, you will think of with great fondness.

Fantastic! An absorbing, compelling account.
I have given away more copies of this book than any other. It is an engrossing first-person account of one man's struggle and journey to faith. Art hides no thoughts and hides no flaws - he explores and exposes his sins and failings as he gropes through the meaninglessness of the relativistic and atheistic modern world he once revelled in and helped promote to the culmination of his search in an encounter with the Living God of Israel - in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. Whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, a believer or a non-believer, you will be challenged and stirred by this book. It is to be republished soon, possibly under the name APPREHENDED BY GOD.

Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology

An excellent book
An excellent book for graduate medical students.

Excellent, well-researched book loaded with good references.
This book covers quantitative physiology under the particularly stressful conditions of exercise. It is divided into five basic sections: Exercise limitations, exercise biomechanics, cardiovascular responses, respiratory responses, and thermal responses. The author has obviously done a lot of research into the vast body of literature on mathematical modeling of physiological systems. When models are not covered in detail, he gives references to many sources.

As a biomedical engineer, I have used this book regularly to obtain such things as functions describing the relationship of exercise level and oxygen consumption and references to who has done mathematical models of the thermoregulatory system. This book should be on the shelf of anyone who is interested in quantitative physiology, or of engineers designing sports equipment or other similar biomedical devices.

Smite thine enemies!
This book, (for the skilled practitioner) is a great source of knowledge, but more importantly, raw power! You will have your enemies growing tarantulas out of their mouths in no time! (hehe)

Interesting filososofies, rites and well illustrated
Not just another grimoire but a nice book for reading if you are interested in this kind of sorcery. Particulary nice illustrations of amulets, but if you have made plans of exercising these sacret rituals you'd better think twice, unless you are a skilled mage. Yet for the unskilled among us a nice book to get a picture of the rites as they were performed in and after the inquisition.
