The Wrong Way Home: Uncovering the Patterns of Cult Behavior in American Society
Published in Hardcover by Beacon Press (January, 1991)
Author: Arthur J. Deikman

Used price: $4.95
Collectible price: $8.47
Average review score:

Readable and informative...
Books that are both substantive and written in an engaging way are pretty thin on the ground. This is definitely one of them.

It takes the position that cult behaviour is present in less extreme forms in our every day life and is convincing and interesting in its delivery.

I recommend it very highly...

Start your morning off right with "Wrong Way Jonah"
I do my Bible study in "Wrong Way Jonah" each morning while mom's cooking breakfast. This is my second book this school-year in the "Discover 4 Yourself" Bible study series. I like "Jonah", because you get to be a newspaper reporter trying to be the first one to break the big story about Jonah.

Mom likes the study, because I have to read the Bible and learn how to actually study it. I like it because you get to do crossword puzzles, word searches, and interviews. There's even ideas for making things.

Yasir Arafat
I used this to do a report about Yasir Arafat. It was a great book! Good photos and information. Also, it was easy to read. I learned that Yasir means "easy going." Pretty cool. I can't wait to read more books by Colleen Madonna Flood Williams. Her name is long, but it's still a nice name.

The years of endurance, 1793-1802

Brilliantly Romantic Evocation of History
Sir W. Arthur Bryant was a historian of a type perhaps no longer much found: the romantic patriot. His trilogy's stirring evocation of the wars with Napoleon (Years of Endurance, Years of Victory and Age of Elegance) have been among my favorite books of history. Written during the Second World War, with its echoes of Britain's isolation during another period when another Continental despot sought European conquest, yet military defeat failed to staunch the British spirit, Bryant (who writes a bit better than that purple prose) was moved to write this trilogy. The books are simply thrilling. His interest in social and economic subjects is not great; his interest is primarily in heroic personalities on the world stage, and the conflict of "national psychologies". His description of battles on land and sea is wonderful. I love these books, and I'm sure all but the academic historian (which Bryant clearly is not) would too.

This is such a great book, I think other kids should read it
I waited for a long time for this book to finally come out. I am so excited that I finally have it.I liked when Arthur pulled the sword out of the stone the best. I liked very much how he illustrated it. This book inspired me to draw pictures about the middle ages. I think other kids that like king arthur stories should read this exciting book. I also wrote my own king arthur legend. Brian Kelly age 7

A fun book for kids afraid of monsters.

Richard A. Macales, columnist, "Mac's Facts"
If you are proud of the role that Orthodox Jews have played in developing the modern Zionist movement, you will love this reader compiled more than 35 years ago (and back in print). Orthodox rabbis and Zionist leaders Yehuda Alkalai, Zvi Hirsch Kalischer, Yechiel Michel Pines, Meir Bar-Ilan, Shmuel Chaim Landau, Samuel Mohilever, Avraham Yitzhak HaCohen Kook and Isaac Reines take up a disproportionate amount of space in Hertzberg's rich work. And for good measure you will find the writings of Ben-Gurion and Jabotinsky.
