There is nothing new under the trading sun
This is a Fraser reprint of "The Theory of Stock Speculation" by Arthur Crump, apparently an Englishman, written in 1874-5, published around 1900-1901.

Style is difficult at times, with long paragraphs, words and phrasing of that period. But this is very worthwhile reading - trading psychology; intermarket analysis; economics; history.

E.g., first ticker of sorts, via telegraph, was started on 11/13/1851, between the London stock exchange and Paris. I did not know previous to reading this book, that France had to pay war reparations to Germany for the Franco-German/Prussian war just before this time, perhaps the originating source of motivation for the heavy WWI reparations demanded by France and others, of Germany after WWI, leading to WWII. This info is just one of many, many interesting items in the book.

But, this is not a history book, its a treatise on the pitfalls and dangers of speculation.

It is amazing to me that so much was known way back then, about trading psychology, trading tricks and scams, markets, public versus professional results, panics, etc.

This short book compactly contains most of what any current books on trading psychology contain.

Virtually every one of its 114 pages seems to have multiple pieces of trading wisdom worth quoting.

Does it apply to current speculation, trading and markets? Definitely!

Open doors to gnosis
Arthur Versluis has penned a book which will open doors for anyone seeking a more meaningful experience of the essence of Christianity. The writing is masterful, compelling, convincing, and inspiring. Not to be confused with the theosophical movement of Blavansky, Besant, etc., Dr. Versluis' "Theosophia" takes the reader through a journey of esoteric Christian thought. The work of Jacob Boehme is perhaps the most significant "eye-opener" here, for it is in this study that one may begin to appreciate the "inner dimensions" inherent in the Christian faith, allowing the seeker to remain faithful to doctrinal elements of Christianity while not succumbing to "new age" so-called theologies. For this reader, a totally new world was unveiled thanks to the author's perceptions of gnosis.

Freedom!
At 40 years of age, I have been on and off diets all of my life, and I am free from the bondage of "success/failure" from diets, now that I have learned to eat how my body was designed. Thin Within has been an "answered prayer" for me. I do not have to depend on any diet to work...My body works and I can depend on it. Thin Within has taught me how to think, believe and act like a thin person, which is how I was created. I want to say a big "Thank you!!" to Dr. Arthur and Judy Halliday and Heidi Bylsma for writing this book! I am now free!!

An enjoyable informal book
I love to study about different ethnic groups, and the way theylive. This book maybe easy to read, but adults and kids will loveit. It is really neat reading about what the houses are like that people from all over the world live in. I think that the most interesting place this book tells about, is Mali. I think this because everybody in the family in their own shack, and all of the shacks are fenced in together. This book defitinely deserves an award.

An Excellently Presented Anthology
Arthur Machen can easily be described as one of the writers who provided the foundation to the 20th century fantasy and horror literature. This one is a great collection of horror stories, most of which has a quite Lovecraftian style. If you are new to Machen, and/or like stories with a tinge of "Mythos Horror" in them, you'll definetely like this one.

This was a really good story. It has a great storyline. It has fear, excitement, action, and adventure. The description of the dancing devil was so good I could see it in my head. I'm in sixth grade and reccomend this book to my friends. My mom has been trying to find the Three Investigator series so I can read more of them. Look for the author Robert Arthur like we did and you'll find them still being published.

Lost classic...in print for the first time in sixty years!
This is a whimsical little book which finds the creator of Sherlock Holmes musing on his life long love of reading. Odds are good that if you have found this listing in your internet travels you are also a person who loves books. If so, buy this title while you are lucky enough to be able to lay your hands on it. It took me ten years to find a copy! This paperback is a very nice edition with the complete text intact. What you will get for your money is the warmest little book about books that you have ever read...and experience that feels like an intimate conversation with Doyle as he takes you through a tour of his personal library. Its more like reading a letter than an essay. I know I've acquired some new books on Sir Arthur's recommendations and you probably will too. Don't hesitate...its worth every cent and you may never find an affordable copy again. Happy reading friends!
