A breath of fresh air
When my husband died, I spent a lot of time reading hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pages of "how to" books to help me through the predictably wretched time that followed.

I found more useful comfort in this book through the amazing words of these other people who had suffered a similar loss. While the "how to" books serve a useful purpose, they did not reach me or comfort me -- my emotional self -- nearly as much as reading about the reactions and emotions of those who contributed to the book.

I now give these stories of love, loss, and healing to people when I learn of that they have suffered a similar event. I also recommend it to siblings and friends of such people when the discussion turns to an imminent, or recent death.

Great job!

What I CAN say. . .
This book is excellent for a guide to letting go of hurt and anger and being able to live a meaningful life. David and Grace make a great writing team as they combine experience, christianity and skill into making the process of forgiveness logical and simple. The many examples they used made it a page turner for me. I definitely recommend this for it's readability, scholarship, and practicality.

This Book Can Really Make a Difference
Boy, I wish my own mother had read this book when I was growing up! Dr. James Dobson recommended it on a Christian radio station where I live and thank God he did. It can really make a difference if you are feeling out of control at home with your family and need some sense of perspective. The book is well written and is not offensive in any way. It is based on Christian beliefs and the authors offer some well educated tips and suggestions that actually do work. It's very down to earth and has nothing off the wall written in it. Anyone can read it and become a better parent. It's nice because it's not too long either. I recommend it and am buying it for my sister.

Another Grace Livingston Hill Classic
I love all of her books. Where Two Ways Met is a heartwarming tale of the conflicts between God and the material world. When Paige returns from the war, he finds life has changed. His parents have aged and he needs to get a job to support them. He lands a job working for a group of men that he was suspicous of from the start. Paige convinces himself to take the job though. One of the downsides to the job is his boss's daughter. She is a spoiled girl with contempt for Paige's God. Meanwhile, across the street from his parents' house is the minister's. Paige learns that a new minister has moved in and he has a daughter, April. April furthers his understanding of God when the two are thrown together in a crisis to help a family in need. Paige finds himself comparing her to his boss's daughter. When the daughter sets her sights on him as her new playmate, the plot thickens. April also finds herself in a stressed situation. But two of God's children find their way through their troubles to find love.

Inspiring work
I loved this book!!! I gave a copy to each volunteer last Christmas. Not only was it highly inspiring and motivating, it convicted me of the need to communicate to students that they matter to God, hope is never lost, and through God's power they can overcome any obstacles.

Aging and Spirituality
This book is a "must-read" for anyone fifty -years- old or for anyone approaching the age of fifty. Kathleen Fischer deals with a variety of topics concerning aging, and she most effectively relates these topics to the larger and more holistic life-issue of spirituality. Some of the topics include sexuality and sex, the deaths of friends, the passing of wisdom on to the next generation. Fischer offers insights into deepening one's own spiritual life, and she helps the reader understand the importance of deepening this relationship.

Winter Grace is an easy-to-read, yet thought-provocking book. As a baby boomer, I appreciate her wisdom and have sent this book to boomer friends.
