Classic Sermons
The book is a good look at sermons from different periods on the the grace of God. This is excellent reading if you wish to look at different aspects of God's grace and what it means to you. There are eleven different sermons from the 1700s to 1900s. This is a good book for the religious collection.

Excellent, but of limited interest
If you are studying Debussy or have an intense interest in his works, this is one of the most useful books you can find. It is not, however, a very interesting source for biographical details. In the preface to this 1933 study, Vallas writes, "In this book...I have avoided all biographical details the publication of which might be deemed premature and indiscreet. The secrets of his private life belong to those who shared it and who bear [sic] his name." Vallas, in fact, barely touches on many details that are now considered quite important, such as the fact that his first wife committed suicide not long after they separated. The biography he gives is factually correct, but dry compared to the more recent "anything goes" style.
This book is, however, a treasure trove of articles. Vallas thoroughly documents the reception of every major Debussy work. His own analytical commentary is breif but insightful. In addition, he has compiled an 83-page, dated listing of the opening bars of every piece Debussy in known to have written. The translation is awkward at times, but readable.
This book is an amazing resource, just not the most entertaining read. The original articles are interesting in that they show the public reation toward early modernism. Highly recommended if you are studying Debussy.

The PowerPoint Key
This a great book for people that have little if any experience working with PowerPoint. The book goes on to break PowerPoint down into sections for operations. It also has a list of do's and don'ts. Overall it is a pretty solid book

COMEDIANS
The photography is done beautifully in black and white, and the subjects are portrayed in a very down to earth, human manner. It's unfortunate Grace was unable to capture Eddie Murphy. The man is extremely talented, and should have been included.

Put Ribbons Everywhere!
The projects in this book were created by some of the top crafters in the industry today. I have made many of the projects and applied their techniques to many more. The directions are clear, concise, and easy to read. The styles range from primitive country, Asian, to sophisticated elegance. Decorate pillows, spruce up plain candles, send unique greeting cards, and create beautifully decorated journals. There are charming beginner projects as well as some for the advanced crafter. I'd recommend this book to anyone!

Reminds me of things that I thought I had forgot.
This wonderful and thought provoking book shows a great view of the little things of life that all of us take for granted. The simple recitation of grace (the Catholic version) often gets lost in the motions. Brian Doyle makes you think about the little things that makes up your everyday beliefs and rituals that are taken for granted and not examined. The simple act of the sign of the cross, I had forgotten the symbolism. Every Catholic boy that served his rookie year on the altar has similar rememberances. I too had to learn all the prayers only to be told that Latin was no longer necessary. The experiences that he relates make you think about things long forgotten. Doyle's writing style is simple and to the point. He is stingy with words in much the way Hemmingway was. The book is broken up into nice small sections that are easilly read and re read. A great Vacation book!

One of the best Hill books
This book starts out great. I'm a big fan of Grace Livingston Hill and have read many other books by her. But this one starts out great. Laurel and Phil meet, by accident-and fall in love in three days. It's so sweet, I wanted to cry, which I never do at books. But the ending isn't so great, Hill doesn't leave enough time to establish the evil plot. But it's a good book still and the beginning and middle are wonderful!
