Very juicy!
The only problem I had with this book was that it stressed that animals were far inferior to man, a fundamentalist belief that I'm kind of uncomfortable with, because it allows a new land/agriculture ethic to be destroyed. Man should be a good stward of what God has given him. Anyway, What I really liked about Colson's book was that he offered bits and pieces of food for thought. One of my passions is delving into the P.O.V.s of others who might not necessarily share my own. I recommend it, on the basis that the reader will learn something about how Colson presents his God.

Freshing up your methodological knowledge
This book can be considered to fresh up your methodological knowledge obtained in college/university. It is not so much a how to use SPSS as a statistics and methodological book. You might consider this book for that basic kind of approach. I found it useful, only as 'add' to the nessesary other SPSS books. You need to get 'a crash course in SPSS for Windows' or better: 'SPSS for windows: step by step'.

Trippy tome
"Turn on, tune in, drop out" the trinity of tripping, the credo of the sixties' psychedelic revolution, was coined by the "High Priest" of LSD, Dr. Timothy Leary. Though his Harvard research into the consciousness-raising possibilities of psychedelic drugs might have ended with his, and Richard Alpert's, dismissal from the school-the first faculty to be sent packing since Ralph Waldo Emerson-Leary went on through private funding to research mind-expanding drugs, especially as related to sexual ecstasy.

The Delicious Grace of Moving One's Hand: The Collected Sex Writings, compiled by Leary before his death in 1997, includes lectures, interviews, essays, and personal history that reveal this man's remarkable wit and brilliant scientific mind. The words here are just as often gorgeous prose as they are lucid scientific postulations. He writes of his "first sexual experience"-his own conception-in gorgeously erotic terms: "I was eased into this soft, creamy home, my slim serpent body sputtering with pleasure."

Accessible even to Leary novices-including those of us under 40, many likely born long after Leary's escape from prison in 1970-Delicious Grace will tune you in and turn you on to one our country's most ingenious, controversial minds.

British myster with strong female lead character...
Don't mess... is a fast paced novel with a wealth of interesting characters. At times the plot stretches credibility, but still in an enjoyable fashion. The author does a nice job of introducing enough characters to keep this relatively lengthy novel interesting (400+ pages), and does so in a way that it is still easy for the reader track.

The novel is modern-British in tone and nature, but still very accessible. Although not great literature, the book holds your attention throughout.

Very Informative for Non-traditional Assessment
I thought this book was very helpful when using non-traditional assessment methods. It would be an excellent resource for someone new to portfolios. It would be most helpful for someone teaching K-1 because of the activities and ideas that are included in the book. It includes many theme related materials that are especially prevelant in K-1. I used it at that level. For someone higher than first grade it probably would not be as helpful.

The Dirt on Dirt
Easy Compost is a splendid introduction to the art of composting. Easy to read and loaded with useful photos, the book provides the reader with a sound understanding of the process and importance of composting, while not being overwhelming. In particular I found the chaapters on composting indoors and commercial composts quite useful. All in all, a good book.

ACTUALLY!
I would actually give this a 4 1/2 stars with a minus. [from the back of the book] **** PREGNANT WITHOUT A GROOM. ----She was pregnant, alone -- and achingly beautiful. so what could an honorable cowboy like Zach Calhoun do but offer her a job while she waited for her baby to be born?
He was a loner -- and irresistibly sexy. so why would Mallory Phillips, a woman who had sworn to never open her heart to a man again, agree to share a home with Zach?
Mallory was a vulnerable mother-to-be who needed a strong, true man like Zach. And the desire that Zach felt for her as he watched her blossom with child was like not other he'd ever felt. But could this brooding cowboy see himself as a future father? ********
Zach had been married before and was not interested in trying again but Mallory was softening him up .... and when he heard the baby's heartbeat on the sonogram he was almost hooked.
You will want to follow these two through the book and probably wish there was more. Kind of hard to put down.
