Rescue, Recovery, Restoration
Upon reading this book, I was captivated by the story of this woman's healing and restoration from the devastation of sexual, emotional and physical abuse. I began reading the book and was unable to put it down. I finished it in one sitting. Very few books are written about these issues that dig deep into the heart of the issue providing the how to for deep and lasting healing, without gimics. It is written with simplicity and candor and will capture your attention in the first paragraph. In fact, as a man I believe it is a must read for men as well. I ordered 40 copies for the women in my congregation and it is a tremendous blessing! Upon further research we find that the book was donated to 25 women's prisons across the country - is in rape crisis center and a few bookstores(all sold out). It is a testimonial of triumph over tragedy!

Mistitled Major Work
The title ought to be "Towards A Theory of Biocentrism." The first half of the book rigorously establishes the philosophical credentials for the author's subsequent claim that there is no point in deceiving people. We may as well face facts, and work towards making life better if we can and if we have enough time left. If you are looking for a project to commit yourself to passionately and with proper intellectual justification, then consider Professor Rue's proposal here. In an age committed to pseudo-sophisticated slacking, here is offered a direction and a purpose and a means of participating in cosmological processes.

PUT THIS BOOK BACK IN PRINT!
With memoir such a hot category for publishers and booksellers these days, you'd think this would be a natural to bring back in print. It is one of the most delightful, funny and charming memoirs I've ever read. It's must reading for anyone who's grown up in California -- or would like to have. Theroux is simply a terrific writer. Get this book used, by auction, through the library, whatever -- it's fabulous, and one you'll want to read over and over again.

Inspiring, spiritual, uplifting and extremely practical .
For a simple, small booklet, Call Me Blessed is now one of my favorite books. All the other books about motherhood don't say as much as this book does because, to me, this one touched my spirit. I felt in my heart that the principles Grace Ketterman outlined were exactly what I needed to apply to myself. I learned things I never knew! Each day I reread a few pages and I'm amazed at how it's effected me and how drastically I've improved my mothering skills. I feel like I'm a much happier, calmer mother that is much more in tune with my children's hearts. I feel a great sense of satisfaction and peace from becoming more of the kind of mother I want to be and the kind of mother my children deserve. The way the author words things does not overwhelm or lecture, but inspires and uplifts. I have now bought one for all of my sisters!

A wonderful story!
This is an excellent book. When the father of the family gets sick and must go into the hospital, the family becomes poorer and poorer. Slowly the family comes closer to faith in God. This book helps you understand some of the trials people go through when they don't know God.
