Best math textbook I ever used!
After going back into this book more and more I can only revise my opinion upward. Sullivan covers almost every topic before calculus and does it in a very straightforward manner. The text has rigor proving many important statements but this is never used in sacrifice of understanding. The student solution manual is also great and highly recomended. A great text and reference book.

Ranks with "The Princess Bride"
I couldn't put this book down, and not because my mother, the author, was standing over me. Fairy tale type stories are so rewarding. This one is no exception. Good for readers and listeners from about 7 years old to 100+. It would also make a terrific movie.

The Problem of Time in Nietzsche
Published in Hardcover by Associated Univ Pr (September, 1987)

Average review score:

Groundbreaking Nietzsche scholarship
This book is a translation of Stambaugh's doctoral dissertation written in Germany under the title _Untersuchungen zum Problem der Zeit bei Nietzsche_ in 1958. Much of what Stambaugh writes (which should be noted was in criticism of and opposition to contemporary Nietzsche scholarship at the time in Germany as represented by Lowith and Heidegger) would later become standard in Nietzsche studies through the publication of Deleuze's _Nietzsche et la philosophie_ in 1962: e.g., the resolution of the "conflict" of the so-called teleological character of the concept of will to power and the non-teleological eternal return by delineating Nietzsche's understanding of "will" as naturalistic and cosmological rather than anthropomorphic; the explication of Nietzshce's anti-Newtonian concept of space as relations of force rather than formal. Stambaugh provides a wealth of information and ingenious interpretation that cannot be touched upon in this limited space. The only issue I have is with her contention that Nietzsche's concept of time remains formal. I am not sure the agrument she presents throughout leads to this conclusion. But this is perhaps a mere semantic difference and need not contain the force of Nietzsche's thought of eternal return as such, which Stambaugh readily concedes.

If you are interested in understanding Nietzsche's ontological explications of will to power and eternal return this is the best book available in English.

On top of this Kevin's brother is soon living with them, which is a bain for Sadie, as he has always been very republican. This book shows Kevin and Sadie striving for a better life.

Puppet Scripts for Sunday Mornings
A great resource for any Puppet Ministry! Joan M. Sercl gives tips on how to introduce your new puppet(s), voice suggestions, memorization tips, list of puppet resources, ideas for quick stage ideas, and an easy-to-use table of contents sorted by month (i.e. Dec. includes puppet skits on Christmas). Even if you've already gotten started, this book includes 52 scripturally-based skits that Joan M. Sercl has written with the ventriloquist in mind. So, you're not a ventriloquist, . . . I'm not either, AND the book is great. Joan suggests that you -- use your imagination! We've done exactly that by adapting some of the scripts for several puppets (to involve more teenage volunteers). The message in the Purple Glove skit (easily performed with dyed gloves) is worth the price of the book alone.

THE ORIGIN OF THE HOUSE OF TUDOR...
This is the seventh book in the Queens of England series by the author, a masterful storyteller, who is also known as Victoria Holt to her fans. It is a well-written novel of historical fiction that tells the little known story of Katherine of Valois.

She was a French Princess, daughter of King Charles VI, the gentle, but mad, King of France, and Queen Isabeau, an evil, self-absorbed libertine, who cared little for her children. After the famous battle of Agincourt in which King Henry V of England vanquished France, Katherine found herself married to this warrior king and living in England. She was to become the mother of King Henry VI of England.

Shortly after their son's birth, King Henry V died a premature death. Young Queen Katherine saw their son Henry taken from her to be raised by others. Retiring to the countryside, she fell in love with a Welsh squire, Owen Tudor, who had faithfully served King Henry V, and now served Katherine as part of her household. Theirs was to be an illicit love affair, carried out in secret, as the alternative was to be the recipient of charges of treason.

Try as they might, no amount of secrecy could prevent the vicissitudes of life from raining down upon their happiness. Political intrigue would serve to bring their illicit love to light. It would act as the catalyst for a turning point in history. What happened to Katherine and Owen would give rise in the future to the house of Tudor, one of the greatest dynasties ever to rule England.

The book grounds their love story in the context of the period, which saw England as the conqueror of France. It covers that turbulent time in history that saw Joan of Arc rise from the remote French countryside to ensure the crowning of the Dauphin of France as its rightful King. It is a spellbinding account of the struggles between England and France and those who would rule these two countries. It is a book that will be enjoyed by all those with a fondness for well-written, historical fiction.
