Miscommunication
This book is primarily about family relationship at their low points. One thing is easy to observe. Namely that American independence style of life (the main ingredient, I think) bundled with cold family relationship is very likely to generate the whole range of attitudes in the adult life. Not necessarily healthy ones. It is never a good thing when parents cannot communicate with their children. Children must feel love, devotion and real interest at all times. Later, the frustrations come out. Add alcohol and you are done. A good reading, but there is one objection I have. I do not want to reveal the plot to all those who have not read yet, not to spoil their fun, but the first of the affairs in the book is described flatly, just matter-of-factly. No deep ground, just an observation. This is not something that I find convincing. The second one is artificial and there is nothing I can add to that description. Nevertheless, all technical comments aside, what remains is a good reading, I think. I wish only that the author had devoted more time to construction.

A Sweet Memoir
Anyone intrested in the architecture and way of life of Greenwich, Connecticut during the early 1900s will appreciate this sweet and simple memoir of Joan De Garmo that memorializes her mother-in-law Marjorie Prescott.

The black and white photos are exquisite and tell as much of the tale as the narrative. It's like sneaking a glimpse into an old family album that has been collecting dust and cobwebs in the attic and finding long-forgotten relatives, each with a unique tale to tell.

A nice book that still needs to be written
I was very excited to get this book, having been to London several times and hoping that I would now be given information about the really great stuff that I had, heretofore, missed. I was vaguely disappointed. Though I would not say this book was a total waste, neither did I use it very much on my next trip.

The book has a chatty, friendly syle but it is not very substantive, which is frustrating because one has the feeling that Ms. Cornblath knows more than she is letting on. It is rather as if you are getting advice from a knowledgeable friend who is rushing out the door.

Some establishments are recommended but hours and phone numbers are not given. A good index.

I would use this book as a supplement. It might perhaps even serve as a preamble to your trip, using it to establish an itinerary. But it would not be an adequate guide on its own.

Standard, quick read
If you're looking for a pleasant airplane read, the two stories in this book aren't bad. The first is sweet but forgettable: the suspense doesn't get off the ground and we don't learn enough about the characters to care much about them. The second story has a great, spicy, dream-come-true type of opening. But then Hohl falls back on one of those tired "misunderstanding" plots that leaves me too annoyed with the characters to like them. If you want a great set of love stories built around sexy, funny brothers, try Nora Roberts' Sea Swept, Rising Tides, and Inner Harbor. But if you just want something fun that you can finish before the bathwater turns lukewarm, this will do just fine.

disappointed!
The title of this book, 'Body Of Evidence', led me to believe that there was some suspense or mystery to these somewhat weak tales of romance. I was wrong. The murder is simply the means to bring the two lovers together. The attempts at detailing any investigation are very superficial and would never lead to an arrest in the real world. Then there are the characters, particularly in Jackie Merritt's tale. They are actually annoying. Who would ever love someone who always wimpers and tells you she is not attracted to you? Justine Davis' selection is well written but cannot save the book. I will apologize to Pickart because I was too bored to start her episode. The idea of following a murder from the beginning of the investigation until the verdict was compelling, but it was too hastily thrown together for my liking.

Does not touch practical ideas on loyalty programs.
The first chapters were quiet interesting giving you an overview of the customers expectations. However, several of the follwoing chapters repeat the same ideas.

Not A Duo Book.
Just a warning. If you are purchasing this book be advised that it is a single story written by Joan Kilby. It is not a Duo Book. Margaret Way only provides the books' foreword.

When glamour and practicality - Recommended
...P>CHILD OF HER DREAMS presents an interesting hero and heroine who are total opposites, which thereby places them at cross-purposes. Geena's life after death experience adds an extraordinary element to the novel. While the subsequent tension between characters maintains the reader's interest, the momentum of the tale unfortunately peters out during the second half of the novel, allowing the ending to fall a bit flat. I found myself feeling a bit impatient that she settles for so little after proving her abilities. Nevertheless, I confess to admiring a heroine who swallows her pride to seek a GED while also working hard to overcome a potential eating disorder, which makes reading CHILD OF HER DREAMS a worthwhile read. CHILD OF HER DREAMS comes recommended.

Helpful, but barely skims the surface of available patterns
Nice reference book, easy to follow with a price guide in the back. Unfortunatly, it has a limited number of patterns represented and no information on the types of pieces available for all but 4 or 5 patterns. I purchased this book hoping to learn more about the Rosemarie #6044 pattern I inherited from my father, but will have to try again with a different reference. I ended up keeping it for the information on patterns from the 1920's. It's helped me identify a Morimura Luncheon set from 1922 and other Noritake items I've purchased. The book also contains some limited information on old advertisements and some care suggestions for fine china.

A good book but not the best.
Frisco Styer was a business woman who was very good at her job. She was speechless when her father told her that he had mismanaged the family business to the brink of bankruptcy. She coldn't let her mother know cause she knew her mother would not take it well. She will do absolutely anything to save the company, including stopping Lucas MacCanna who tried to takeover the company. Lucas was a cold ruthless businessman who only love to win. Until he met beautiful Frisco, that he decided to mix business and desire into one. He offered her a partnership in business only if Frisco will be her lovers. Frisco turned the offer around by gave Lucas another offer, it will be a marriage and then they will become partners in business. When Lucas accepted it, she just realized that she probably did a great mistake. Frisco was fallen ahead in love with Lucas but the man was seem so far to reach. After all, the man married her only for the business and pleasure in bed. Was Frisco dare enough to took all the risk in order to obtain Lucas love, but realizing she could also lost him by doing just that? Although the book was enjoyable, it was not the best of Joan Hohl. The plot was too cliché and lots of absurdity. Example, how can a father thrown his own daughter who he loved so much into a marriage just to save his own hide? But all in all, this book is still readable. The characters were strong, it also include secondary characters that was quite intriguing. If you love romance story with all the love and hate situation between the hero and heroine, this book will answer to your need. But if you decide to skip this one, it wouldn't be a great loss.
