I rate this a four because of its content more than the writing. If you're looking for one book to cover it's history from the geology that formed the land, to first settlers in 17th century through modern times, this is an excellent choice.

Child is not tired, but maybe the bear is tired. Grandma tucks in bear. Does same with child's other animals and finally child is ready to join sleepy friends. Shows Grandma as a primary caretaker.

I enjoyed listening to this audio cassette - it's from a meditation conference where Joan is speaking to an audience. Joan is articulate and has a pleasant voice. After a being away from meditation for sometime, I bought this tape to inspire me to get back into it and it has helped me achieve my goal. I recommend this tape for the meditation newbie or the person, like myself, who wants to get back into meditation after stopping for a while.

I think someone should write a up to date on Miss Bennett. altho she isn't with us any longer she is still wonderful to watch. In this book it should have dealt more with her inner thoughts.

Una obra totalmente amena y sincera que nos ayuda a entender un poquito más los cánones de la fotografía y su aplicación en las diferentes artes y profesiones. Sin embargo, no es del todo una obra que deje claro todos los conceptos fotográficos; debemos tener unas nociones mínimas en el tema para entender al detalle lo que el autor nos está contando. De todas maneras es una obra del todo recomendable para aquellos que quieran saber también lo que está ocurriendo actualmente con la fotografía, no sólo en cuanto al uso de las nuevas tecnologías (todo lo relacionado con lo digital) sino también el problema ético que desempeña en nuestra sociedad y su historia a lo largo de las civilizaciones.

Though a little bit dated (published in 1999) this is a great little book for those people who just are getting the hang of Email to those who just want a bit of a refresher course. It's not overly long, it's easy to read and gives little snippets of "real" people experience as they adapt Emailing to their every day needs, be it at home or at work.
Joan Tunstall has managed to make a boring subject interesting, with pratical hints, tips and ideas on how to get the most out of Emailing without it taking over your life. There are nine chapters to browse through, and you can either go through the entire book or you can skip through it to find what you want. As someone once said to me about using electronic mail, "It ain't Rocket Science, but you've got to know the basics."
A good cheap reference source that might not be the most up-to-date book on your shelf but it could be a useful tool to have on hand just in case.

I read this book years ago, before the Enneagram became so popular as a model for personal and leadership development. Kaplan only refers to the Enneagram in one footnote, but his in-depth case studies are the best examplars available of Enneagram Types One, Three, and Eight in business settings (he refers to them as "expansive leadership" styles). This book should be competing for attention from Enneagram enthusiasts with Goldberg's Getting Your Boss's Number. I've used both as resources in my work as an executive coach. I would give Beyond Ambition 5 stars if it were a little more accessible to the busy executive, but as a consultant I find his in-depth treatment to be top-notch.

Thank God I found this book!! I recently started home schooling my 5th and 6th grader. I have searched every books store in my town for the perfect supplemental workbook. Ladies and Gentlemen, this book is the one. The book should not be used alone in homeschooling. However, this workbook in combination with the textbook provides the perfect match. My children get bored with workbooks. I have found that this book offers the teacher and the students with multiple tasks that keeps all minds interested. I would hope that you take advantage of this wonderful product.......Thanks for making my job as a teacher less hectic.

It was nice to see some of the old zine names again. I was a little disappointed that a short review of each zine mentioned was not given except for the really big name ones. However, those of us who were around and writing for and/or publishing at that time will definiately enjoy seeing old friends again. I would like to have seen the years split up into two volumes and more details given for each zine and whether they are still publishing or not. However, Verba is a good writer and covers alot of material. It's sorta like putting a tidal wave in an empty bath tub, hard to do, but squeeze more in anyway. It is a wealth of information that can be used by all and a book worth reading.
For Trek fans, it is a good reference guide to have all the zine names at your finger tips. It would also be helpful in buying zines at conventions, and filling in missing ones in ones' own collection.

We are big fans of Olof Landstrom and Boo and Baa so this book did not disappoint. Boo and Baa are two cute little sheep who seem to fall into one escapade after another and, true to form, they have another adventure in this book. There is fun and games, a thunderstorm, and possibly ghosts! What more you could you ask for in a story?

My three year old just loves the Boo and Baa stories and will actually sit still to lisen to them (quite a miracle, I assure you) so I highly recommend this book for those with energetic toddlers if you are trying to teach them to appreciate a good story.
