Enriching
Although the book had a 'special' meaning for me, as it was given by a man who asked me to be his wife I found it to be a lovely book and very uplifting. It was lost in a flood over 15 years ago but I can still remember it's sweet content.

Review
Nixon developed the main character, Abby, quite well. Her witty trait was made apparent with the other characters she came across. I recommend reading this book in the Hollywood daughters trilogy, for this one is by far the best.

read for SF and Fantasy read
This book is one of my favorites, which I first discovered in 1979, and it is still just as fresh and fascinating today. Long out of print, it is a must read for both fantasy and SF readers alike.

Cox tells a tale that combines elements of science, fantasy, and mystery. While the characters explore a rich and dimensional universe, Cox also explores humanity and it's many relationships.

Many of the subjects she so deftly covers were practically taboo in the late 70's, and are still controversial issues today. The characters are deep, and believable, with human flaws and questions, set against a backdrop of myriad colorful worlds and exotic alien life.

Well written, with a unique approach to space and time, this book is both a good read and a thought provoker.

The statue Walks at Night
The characters in the book were funny and the stuff they did was exciting. I'm a 9 year old boy who doesn't love to read, but this book really kept my interest.

This is such a great idea!
I bought this book for my niece in grade 1. The two sides of the story (the adult read side and the kid read side) means that the kid reads with you but the story still moves along pretty quickly. What a great idea. I'm looking for more in this range.

Be Ready to Cry Your Eyes Out
This is a lengthy story, but that certainly doesn't make it a bad one. It is certainly and emotional roller coaster if nothing else.

The story starts our with Sir Thomas going to inspect some recently acquired lands. He finds a manor in bad shape and a boy named Ian who would have been the next lord of the lands now belonging to Sir Thomas. Sir Thomas raises Ian a son right along side his own son, Rob, who is about the same age.

Rob and Ian are the best of friends even after Ian wins the heart of Sheila who is the woman they both loved. Rob marries a woman named Katherine out of duty, and even though she knows it is Sheila that he loves she none the less loves him.

This book is full of heart ache and above is only the beginning. In the end there is a triumphant ending for these families, but it isn't the one you would expect. I cried an awful lot throughout the reading of this novel.

The author has written a story that is very in depth as it traverses four generations before it comes to a close. The length is necessary however, and allows the reader to get as caught up in the characters lives as they would if it were about their own family. This is truly a work of art, and a wonderfully spun tale.

Pointed, pithy, no-nonsense, and an unexpectedly good read
This book would not be out of print if more people were acquainted with it. At less than 200 pages, including index and references, this introductory text to business forecasting takes the problem of predicting the future seriously. However, the authors do not take themselves too seriously, and the math jokes actually helped my comprehension of the material. By using minimal formulae and fully explaining the calculation when explanation can't be avoided, the book made forecasting less forbidding, more understandable, and left me with an increased respect for the problems of forecasting as well as some improvement in my own ability to deal with the forecasts of anyone providing information about The Future. No, past performance does NOT indicate future outcomes for investments, and past behavior is NOT necessarily the best predictor of future behavior in people. If there's an area in your life where you need to get past these bromides, this book will help. Seek it persistently.
