Comprehensive Study of the Bible
This book gives not only a Sunday School teacher a format and information for instruction, but is a wonderful tool for any serious student of the Bible, particularily one who has never had the opportunity to enroll in a formal Bible study program. I have found it to be very comprehensive and full of helpful information. The questions that are posed will be useful in class instruction and also provide an easy way to test one's own knowledge. I highly recommend this book.

The Grade 3-4 Big Book
This is a wonderful workbook for children entering third grade. I purchased one for my older daughter to use during the summer months before she entered third grade. I chose it because it is so well rounded and therefore covers all academic areas. I was pleasantly surprised because my daughter really enjoyed it and worked through nearly all of the pages that summer under her own initiative. I am happy to see that it is still in print so that my second child can now have her own copy as well.

Big Foot Stole My Wife: And Other Stories (Five Star First Edition Mystery Series)
Published in Hardcover by Five Star (February, 2003)
Author: Joan Hess
Amazon base price: $25.95
Average review score:

enjoyable satirical mysteries
This eleven-collection mystery anthology showcases Joan Hess at her for the most part amusing best. Two of the tales star Claire Malloy and two others Arkansas Sheriff Arly Hanks (the Maggody novels). Those four tales alone would make the short story collection worth reading, but the other seven tales are also well written with six containing the author's renowned humor with a wink. Surprisingly, the final contribution seems out of place, as it is more of a psychological suspense thriller than Ms. Hess's typical satirical biting social barb that leaves no one standing. Besides the writer's fans and towns with populations under 800, anyone who appreciates a strong anthology will want to read BIG FOOT STOLE MY WIFE! AND OTHER STORIES. Additionally, Ms. Hess' readership will also enjoy her previous collection, DEATH OF A ROMANCE WRITER AND OTHER STORIES.

Snover's Biopsy Diagnosis of Liver Disease
This is an excellent, well organized and concise text that is particularily useful to the liver pathologist both as a learning tool and as a resource for checking differential diagnostic possibilities. The organization and style are extremely practical for dealing with real time clinical correlative liver pathology practice.

This book is a must read!
If you, or anyone you know, has cancer, heart problems, rheumatoid arthritis, gastrointestinal problems, migraines, or other common afflictions, this book can prevent a lot of pain and suffering, or even save your life.
If you mearly have an interest in health issues, you should read this book.
This is NOT a self-help book. What it is, is a compilation and commentary on research into the psychosomatic and characterological components of illness, written in lay terms. It also offers findings on studies regarding psychological therapies for these problems, with clues to areas to address in self work.
For a technical medical book, I found it immensely readable and very insightful.

An emotional, turbulent true story
Winner of the 1998 Golden Owl award for nonfiction, Bitter Bonds: A Colonial Divorce Drama Of The Seventeenth Century by Leonard Blusse (Professor of History of European-Asian Relations, University of Leiden) is the compelling story of Cornelia van Nijenroode, the strong-willed daughter of a Dutch merchant and a Japanese geisha. Cornelia married a Dutch lawyer for social reasons, yet was soon betrayed by her husband, who sought to plunder all her personal wealth. Cornelia strove to obtain a divorce in an era when the law and customs were especially stacked against women, after a grueling fifteen-year-struggle, Cornelia emerged with only a partial success, and in the process, became a footnote to the history of women's rights. An emotional, turbulent true story of betrayal and the quest for independence, Bitter Bonds is ably translated into English by Diane Webb and a highly recommended contribution to academic Women's History reference collections and supplemental reading lists.

The vivid colors of many of Blaeu's maps are accurately reproduced, and the detail of the images is good enough to read the place-names of the beautiful maps. John Goss' captions detail the history behind each map, as well as the occasional note about the production of the map. A must for any avid map collector.

A facinating read
While many readers are often hesitant to read a book of essays... this book is truly a facinating read. Ancient myths of vampires often revolve around evil and death, but these essays look at the familiar image in a new light, quite relevant to our modern society. Here we explore the many faces of the vampire going far beyond Stoker's "Dracula". Through these essays we see the vampire as more than just a stalker in the night, but as a symbol of our own human insecurities of sexuality, lonliness, and death. Readers of horror will love this book as a companion piece to old favorites as their eyes will be opened to a broader view of a facinating staple of both modern and classic fiction alike.
