Great Book for Passover
I bought this book for my 3 year old daughter, and she just loves it. The illustrations are great, really bright and catchy. The story is easy to follow and is a little more general than a lot of the Jewish holiday books. It does not emphasize the religious as much as the family tradition. Focuses on family bonding through the generations.

Medical and Genetic Aspects of Purebred Dogs
Excellent book! I am a veterinarian and I often get questions regarding specific breeds and the problems they can have. This book is indexed by breed, not disease, which makes it easy to use. In addition, the problems of the breed are easy to see within the text. An excellent resource for veterinarians, breeders, and anyone who is considering purchasing a purebred dog.

Michael Manley a Treat
"A subtle environmental sub-text and social observation - that the modern world's trance of scientific engagement rests on natural world reality - is couched in a story that kept this household of mostly, technophobic readers page-clicking. In fact, the only thing that interrupted the flow of the tale was the constant "ooh, stop, look at that!" whenever another of the unique, state-of-the-art graphics appeared on screen.

The text is lyrical and mnemonic, as all good childrens' verse should be. But don't just buy it for the kids: it's a treat for all ages."

Dido Twite is back...as sassy as ever
Who needs Harry Potter when you can thrill to the adventures of Dido Twite, the indefatigable Cockney heroine of Joan Aiken's Wolves Chronicles?
In this latest installment, Dido is back in England during the (fictional) reign of King Richard IV, just in time to help save the throne from the loutish son of a werewolf baron. Yes, the plot sounds outrageous, and perhaps it is--but the story is so fast-paced, the narrative so vivid and yet so concise, and the characters so charismatic that even the most literal-minded reader (youngster or adult) is unlikely to care.
For fans of Aiken's entire series, which begins with "The Wolves of Willoughby Chase" and includes "Black Hearts in Battersea," "Nightbirds on Nantucket," and "The Cuckoo Tree" (one of my favorites), one of the most rewarding aspects of "Midwinter Nightingale" is Dido's reunion with her mate Simon--and the bittersweet yet open-ended way Aiken closes the book. Surely another episode is in the works?

Excellent for both beginner and advanced painter
Terrific book for learning how to paint miniatures (great step-by-step instructions with illustrations,) and also learning the interesting history of the medium. Although I myself am a long-time artist of miniatures, I picked up a lot of tips and tricks.
