Hello! I work at a junior high school as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. Since the majority of my students are from South and Central America, I wanted something that could provide heroes from their respective countries. I must say that Mr. Adams has done an excellent job with this book. It covers 22 of the more influential Latin American heroes in the history of the Americas in a very comprehensive and easy to read manner. I found the stories very interesting and informative, and since the book is on the smaller side and paperback, it fits in any bag and provides a great read whenever you have the urge. I highly recommend it !

This book is a must for effective classroom management! Your students will understand why we need rules and procedures. It will promote a sense of personal responsibility by teaching social skills, how to resolve conflicts, positive and negative consequences, and acceptance of accountability. I used this book with my assertive disciple plan the first day of school. The students eagerly listened as I read and we discussed this book. I plan to use WHO CARES ABOUT LAW AND ORDER? throughout the school year.

This book discusses many of the operational issues facing telecom providers in the newly deregulated world of telecom. The foundation for this book is the work that Adams and Willet have performed as founders of the Network Management Forum, an industry group attempting to resolve many of the interoperability issues facing telecom providers today. I find the book informative and worthy of indepth review. The book is well organized and fun to read with antecdotal stories to make the material more palatible. Overall, this book is a must for anyone currently working in the telecommunications industry.

This book dicusses Lie groups form a geometric point of view, that is, it covers the topics necessary to understand certain aspects of algebraic topology like characteristic classes. Thus you don't have to have a knowledge of Lie algebras to read this, which is good news for geometers. I highly recommend "Lectures on Lie Groups" to those who interested in the geometry of Lie groups.

This is a great book to ponder through. Great for University students to broaden their horizon.

The Ledgend of Grizzily Adams and Kodiac Jack is a great book. I'm not one to read, I just never really liked it, but I got this book as a gift and I couldn't put it down. In fact I liked it so much that I read it a second time to pick up the details I missed the first time around. Grizzily Adams is a mountain man that moved from Boston MA, to California. While he's out there he makes friends and enimies. Most of his friends out in the wilderness are animals, like his pet bear Ben Franklin who he rescues from hunters after Ben's mother was shot at and left. This book has it all, action and some fact behind it since Grizzily Adams is a real person. I would recomend this book to anyone that likes the wood and enjoys books about men who opened up the west. Thomas L. Tedrow knows how to write a good book.

I have almost every one of the author's other books; he's not the best writer in the world, but he's one of the few people out there writing about the ghost and shipwreck legends of the Jersey shore, so I'm thankful! In this book, he writes about pirates, various ghosts and shipwrecks, haunted old houses and inns and even war stories...all taking place in and around Long Beach, New Jersey. If you like this kind of thing and if you get a kick out of reading about New Jersey's history, you'll like this book and the author's other books. All the books have a bit of a home-made look about them, but they're still fun.

Legends of the Delaware Indians and Picture Writing is beautifully amplified by Deborah Nichol's introduction and brief biography of Richard C. Adams(1864-1921), a self educated Delaware (Lenape) Indian who devoted 25 years of his life to the furtherance of causes of the many trialed Delaware tribe. The Legends are part of his scholarly and historical legacy. The tales teach homilies on desirable attributes such as pride, courage, promise-keeping, modesty and courtesy as well as courting customs, gambling games, and other pastimes. The picture writing and photographs enrich and complement the text as do the appendices of Lenape translations of several of the legends by Lucy Parks Blalock and Nora Thompson Deane. Legends Of The Delaware Indians And Picture Writing is a very valuable text both because of the enriched script of the tales but also because of the complex, condensed history of the persecutions suffered by the Delawares detailed in the introduction. The cover illustration gracing Legends of the Delaware Indians is a color painting reproduction of Delaware Women by Ruth Blalock Jones.

This dictionary/encyclopedia is indispensable for any study of the ancient world. Without a doubt its accompanyment will broaden the scope of understanding for any student of Antiquity. Bibliotheca Classica: or, A Dictionary of all The Principal Names and Terms Relating to the Geography, Topography, History, Literature, and Mythology of Antiquity and of the Ancients, with a Chronological Table, by J. Lempriete, D.D., the title, sums up the main topics covered. The book is divided into three main parts; I. Geography, Topography, &c., II. History, Antiquities, &c., III. Mythology.

If you have ever read or studied the ancient world and have found yourself at a loss for names places and misc. this is the book for you.

If you are looking for the book that is easier to tote around than this one, I would like to suggest, "Dictionary of Classical Mythology" by J.E. Zimmerman. Coverage is extensive, but lacking the completness of much larger text by Leimpriere.
