Once I picked it up and started to read, I couldn¿t put it..
THE REPOSITORY was a bit of a different read for me. I believe that it would be called, dark fantasy. Not that I don't like dark fantasy. I do. I just don't get to read it often enough. Adam gives us the standard evil characters but adds an air of"anything is possible" that is very charming. Once I'd picked it up and started to read, I couldn't put it down until I was finished.

First off, the cover. Yes, I do notice those things. I love good cover art and THE REPOSITORY has excellent cover art. Kevin Murphy, the cover artist, and Neil Seltzer, cover design, have put together the perfect package that could sell this book on looks alone.

Though THE REPOSITORY is not the sort of book that has to get by on looks alone. THE REPOSITORY is a wonderful read. Thrilling. Enthralling. You will find yourself under a spell as Adam Niswander cleverly weaves you into his story. And what a story it is!

I suppose that you want a bit of a peek. Okay, open the pages and you will find; an ancient fellowship, an evil witch, a gifted and kind man, Lucifer himself, and Ambrose Bierce. Just imagine. Can you? Well, if you can, you are Adam Niswander.

You are going to want this one. If you don't, I picked up a thing or two when I went to New Orleans and I just might have to demonstrate.

Buzzy

Masterful dark storytelling of magic realism
THE REPOSITORY is one of those books that you can't put down until you find out how it all turns out, and once it's over you wish it wasn't. This is a real page-turner, with a background of epic scope, characters that are simultaneously larger than life and all-too-human, and incredible pacing. Niswander tells a great story and he tells it well. His prose enters into poetic beauty during the Wormwood-like chapter introductions, attributed to Ambrose Bierce in the form of a report to his dark master. And on top of everything else, the item itself is very handsomely made. This is a book that fans of fantasy and horror will be doing themselves a disservice to miss

A brilliant fictional of accouning of Satan's War
The Fellowship founded by Merlin consists of magicians dedicated to keeping Lucifer from destroying humanity. Over the past millennium, many dedicated individuals battled the evil minions of Lucifer. Though always victorious, the Fellowship members know their biggest fight is always the next war because a loss means the end of mankind.

The powerful witch Urthane la Voisen, a former resident of Hell, has been slowly eroding the organization for years. One of her mightiest successes was killing the sibling of Josiah, the librarian who maintains all the known books on magic. However, Urthane failed to slay the unborn child of Josiah's sister-in-law. When he was born, Randall was abandoned on the courthouse steps. He grows up in an orphanage. The lad has magical powers, but lacks formal training in their use. When a catastrophe strikes, the Fellowship turn to Randall as their only hope to defeat Urthane.

THE REPOSITORY is a fascinating but chilling account of the eternal battle between Good and Evil. Adam Niswader, author of the Shaman Cycle, has created a fine work filled with interesting heroes and delightful villains. The story line is so taut that readers will believe Mr. Niswader is chronicling real events including those of the future. This novel is simply great story telling.

Roche Versus Adams

A book that must not be missed.
I read the book more than three years ago. Even though I have forgotten most of the details of Mr Adams's story, I am deeply impressed by this man's courage and ability of not showing even the slightest sign of grudge agaisnt those who have played him out. This shows that he is a very forgiving and loving guy. I admire him for the way in which he reacted to the whole incident. It's a very touching story, undeniably. May he live in peace and happiness forever.

A real life thriller that leaves fiction a long way behind
This book has left a mark on my life and despite reading it over ten years ago I can still remember the tale in some detail. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to understand the true power of the multinnational

Destroys all faith in the European Community
A most distrurbing tale of what happened to an executive of a Swiss pharmaceutical company after he had left the organisation.

Doing what he felt was right for the good of consumers and the EC, he passed cartel and shady dealing information to the European Parliament.

His subsequent arrest, the 'suicide' of his wife, and his ensuing struggle for freedom will bring a genuine tear to the eye of even the hardest reader.

I have tried to contact Stanley Adams and John Prescott (who assisted him in his plight) but to no avail.

All in all a gripping read - at times you will not beleive it is NON-fiction.

Great for beginner readers
I have to say i am a little biased in my opinion about the book....my oldest daughter Lauren is the author of the poem in the front of the book...of which i am very proud...my younger daughters Emily age 71/2 and Katie age 3 absolutely love the book...Emily is a beginner reader and loves to read the book to her younger sister..it not only helps her with her reading it encourages her younger sister to do the same as well as teaches them about listening to your parents and the events that follow all your choices...I am trying to place the book in Emily's school library of which i am certain will make a wonderful addition. Emily is already anxious to read more about Roger and Rosie, of which I am glad to hear her say...Mom...i want to read it again! We need more books to stimulate reading in our children. Thanks again for this wonderful addition.

Andrea's review
I am a Speech Therapist for the Lafourche Parish School Board and enjoy reading this book to all my speech impaired children! (They also love it!) It is a wonderful book to teach vocabulary, problem solving, critial thinking, predicting possible outcomes and comprehension skills. The book takes you on a journey that is taken by 2 little raccoons. This journey is taken after their mother tells them to stay inside their home while she is away. The 2 explore the outside world alone and learn about different dangers. They are very scared and realize a very valuable lesson of listening to their mother. They are also taught that dangers are harmful and should be avoided. I recommend this book to all speech therapists, teachers and parents! Your kids will love to hear about this wonderful adventure!

A Very Good Life Learning Tool for Kids
I consider this book to be a 'very good life learning tool' to assist parents in teaching kids the difference in wrong and right. In order to accomplish that mission in teaching through reading, one must create a character (roger the raccoon) that will capture and hold the attention of a child. A raccoon is an animal that is easily identified by a child due to the black rings around its eyes. The character must be unique for that specific animal to be identified as the only one of its kind (red-banded tail); such as Big Bird. When a child thinks of Roger, he or she will remember the lessons learned by Roger and his life experiences that relate to the child that is reading or listening to the book being read.

Amazing book
I enjoyed this book so much that I decided to translate it to Spanish(Editorial Mediterraneo,360 pags.,Santiago,2001). I wish to quote from the recent book review in the World Journal of Surgery (January 2002).

"Since Henry Mondor's text in the 1940s there has been no another book written with such ease and wit about emergency abdominal surgery, an attractive battlefield for so many surgical recruits. Dr. Moshe Schein, a general surgeon with broad experience in New York, has presented a compact handbook useful even in the smallest rural hospital. The book is divided into three sections: Before the Operation, The Operation, After the Operation. This partitioning allows convenient access to pertinent information about the diagnostic and operative hitches frequently encountered in daily practice. In its turn each section of the book is divided into chapters devoted to acute abdominal diseases as well known as perforated peptic ulcer and as rare as Curtis-Fitz-Hugh syndrome. In spite of its semi-belletristic style, the monograph addresses each question with competence; even such a complicated subject as the pathophysiology of urgent surgical situations is very clear and understandable. The features of operative techniques for the different emergency surgical procedures and the management of the postoperative period are thoroughly elucidated.

I was unable to tear myself away from Moshe Schein's book, and I have learned much from it, in spite of my surgical maturity. This manual deserves to be readily available in every emergency service and operating room. Undoubtedly it will come to be highly useful for surgeons at every level, and not only for surgical "teenagers."

I complete my review with one of the aphorisms from the book: "It is more difficult to decide when not to operate than when to operate and what operation to perform." This sentence reflects exactly the substance of the book.

Boris D. Savchuk, M.D.

An excellent surgery book from a qualified author
This is one of the most useful and interesting surgical book in my library. It exposes simply and clearly the situations that a surgeon must face daily and gives precious and updated hints on diagnosis and management of abdominal emergencies. You will read it in two hours with pleasure and interest and remember forever. If you enjoy it, the author published previously other surgical books with the same characteristics that you will appreciate. In two words, buy it!

Excellency,knowledge,experience
One of the best practical, useful and workable books written for residents, students and also experienced surgeons.Easy to read and understand, gives solutions to many of the daily problems that a surgeon must face in the ER.You even enjoy the reading as it is light, pleasant to read it and reread it whenever it's necessary

Wonderful Personality Analysis Tool
I took the True Colors Workshop a few years ago and found it very enlightening. This book was a fantastic refresher! It really helps you to understand your own personality and how you relate to others. Especially useful are the sections on the colors under stress. It isn't really a substitute for the workshops because there is no facilitator to answer your questions and to help you with understanding all the colors of your personality but it does go into depth about the foundations of the True Colors theory. I thought it was great! I have ordered another to give as a gift to introduce a co-worker to True Colors. I think it can help her with all her interactions.

THE book to understand temperament styles
It is a great pleasure to recommend this book to anyone wanting to understand and appreciate themselves and others better. It is a great tool to "turn irritation into appreciation"

"Showing Our True Colors" is an exceptional book with explanations and examples of the four temperament styles. It is broken down into understanding your own color (temperament) and then explains how each of the four colors communicate. You are given concrete examples of how to understand and communicate with each of the four temperaments. You are also given examples of the characteristics of a temperament in stress (Characteristics of a faded blue, etc) and how to help "brighten" them. The cartoon characters are funny and to the point. They are great examples of the situation being discussed. It has been my experience that when I show someone this book they want to know how to get their own copy (there is no way they can get mine from me!!) Congratulations to Mary Miscisin for putting together this wonderful communication tool.

Showing Your True Colors
Fantastic!! Best personality coding book I have ever read!! Easy to understand and reads very quickly! She explains the different personalities using the color coding system of Blue, Green, Gold, Orange, with each color representing a different dominent personality. Easy to understand and to incorporate into everyday life. The example stories she gives in the book are fun to read and put it in the most simple form for relating to each personality. I found myself viewing people differently, in a more positive way, and figuring out just which color they would fall under. I work in a customer service business, and found the information in the book, helped me understand my co-workers as well as my customers much better!! Wonderful and motivational. Great reading for everyone especially if you are in contact with the general public or work in a large office. Highly recommend for everyone!!

A Definite Read
This book is a fun way to be able to address the issue of sibling rivalry. Michelle writes in a way that makes it enjoyable to read with your children. You will definitely laugh when you read how a big brother comes up with a creative way to get rid of his pesky little sister. This would make a great gift for an older sibling when a new baby arrives!

'Sister for Sale' Hits Home!
Michelle Adams made me laugh. Then she made me laugh again and again as I moved quickly through this delightful story about a loving brother and his "bothersome" little sister.

With four brothers, I've been there. Most likely so has everyone else who grew up in a house with one or more siblings. That's what makes "Sister for Sale" such a special little tale. It's true, it's real, and it's funny.

Michelle writes in a simple, rhythmic fashion that helps you glide through this story and never miss a beat. The facial expressions in the illustrations are priceless!

I loved this little book. So did my wife, and 13-year-old son.

Sister for sale. How about a brother for free?

Sister for Sale
I give Sister for Sale a 5 star rating. I really enjoyed reading the book even tho it was a children's book. I would recomend this book to any parent for their child. I read it as soon as I recieved it. It is written so any child may understand it.

The spy of spies in the desert
You read Quiller & everything else pales in comparison. James Bond is embarrassing & LeCarre's characters are boring bureacurats. Quiller however is resourceful, brave & vulnerable at the same time. He doesn't need gadgets or even a gun, he is better, stronger & braver than most of us, but the plot & his actions still remain credible. He's also human: he doesn't hide his fear of going back "to those nasty birds", nor the fact that while determined to die, he'd rather avoid it. You never get the sense when reading that it's a character you can't relate to.

A fascinating look into the mind and mentation of an agent.
In this adventure, Quiller is first challenged to define his own objective. The geography is real; you can feel the heat and see the shifting sand and share his thirst. You also share his satisfaction when he succeeds - and then his determination when he is sent back to die.

Quiller's most exacting mission - superb throughout.
From his induction by Loman into a suicide mission to the end its self-prophesying ending Adam Hall delivers quintissential Quiller dialogue and attitude; at his most innovative and closer that ever before to the edge, the hard-nosed espion comes home with reputation enhanced.

Enthusiastically recommended reading for student teachers
In Teacher, Teacher, I Declare And Other Little Tattle Tales, Royce Adams (Emeritus Professor of English, Santa Barbara City College) has assembled twenty stories thematically related in that they all have to do with teachers. Not just classroom stories, these stories are divided into the beginnings, middles, and endings of various teachers' careers and reflect education styles ranging from the mainstream traditional to the avant garde experimental. Teacher, Teacher, I Declare is enthusiastically recommended reading for student teachers and anyone else with an interest in teaching as a career, a lifestyle, or a calling.

Carrying Tales
By the time I had finished reading "Bouillabaise" in "Teacher, Teacher I Declare!" I realized that I was in the presence of some very satisfying fictional art. Not just stories, or tales carried out of school (which they are), but artistic renderings of the sadness that goes with living. Not the sadness of terrible tragedy, war, or hideous crimes, but the smaller sadness of broken dreams, unself-confidence, missed opportunities, frustration, failure. Like many of the other stories in the book, "Bouillabaise" was perversely amusing at the same time, when you thought about it. And that's life. . . kind of funny when you think about it. Kind of sad. But worth it, after all, and gratifying to contemplate. W. Royce Adams is a stylish, professional author, as evidenced by his long string of published books, and it's good that he turned his attention to a fiction subject that he knows well - teachers, having been one for many years. To their students' surprise, they have lives outside of school and get into the same emotionally chaotic predicaments that the rest of us do. We watch Adams' characters struggle with unraveling marriage, drug experimentation, sexual longing, death in the family, personal betrayal, fear. . . It's excellent reading to see the world through Adams' eyes.
