Good stuff for a great game!
It has a similar layout to White Wolf's other Player's Guidebooks. New Merits and Traits (Internet Savvy, Uneducated) new classes (the Hermit and the Wayward) and an absolute ton of ideas on how to create and play an average human being (a surprisingly difficult task at times).

I have most of the stuff that has been put out for Hunter so far, and this would come right after the Survival Guide in order of usefulness and game expansion. The Hermit class is EXTREMELY interesting (they hear voices from the Messengers constantly) and the Merits/Flaws really help to round out a character (there's a fair bit more than just the standard merits/flaws that find their way into all the player's guides).

The roleplaying tips and ideas are realy nice, especially concerning what types of people are likely to pick up a given creed. There are some interesting rules presented on changing creeds as well (you were an innocent, but you've seen enough, etc.) which make good sense. A whole section on Bystanders is a nice addition as well (they hint that many Bystanders are failed Hunters - ones who heard the call but failed to act).

There's more here than I can lay down, suffice it to say if you've picked up the main book and want to delve deeper into the roleplaying of Hunter this is definetly a worthwhile purchase.

A down to earth book of essential hydrology for applications
This book is an essential read for civil/water/hydraulic/water resources/environmental engineers who need a bit more hydrology necessary for understanding the hydrology applied in their disciplines.

The book defines hydrology and proceeds to indicate the essential difference between applied hydrology and just scientific hydrology. Beginning with the traditional presentation of the hydrologic cycle, all the components of the cycle are dealt with in more detail in the subsequent chapters of the book to indicate the applications involving each and appropriate examples given.

Non-verbose explanations with adequate real examples are used in presentations of meteorology/solar radiation, rainfall/snowmelt, evaporation, infiltration, streamflow and hydrographs/unit hydrographs, groundwater occurrence and hydraulics, probability distributions/extreme value analysis/design floods/storms, river morhology, sedimentation, computer modelling, flood routing by hydrologic and hydraulic methods, and introduction to applications. These are by no means all the main contents - but just indicative of the variety of included essential topics.

It may be old (my edition of 1988) but still contains all the hydrology an engineer may ever need.

The Worst of Both Worlds
Charlie Adams is a habitual liar. "I Didn't Know You Were So Tall" is a terrifying glimpse into the depths of the human mind. Charlie Adams never actually worked for any CBS affiliate in South Bend. He is a mental patient in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Washington DC. The realism with which Adams is able to construct his imaginary world, where he works for WSBT in South Bend Indiana as a broadcast journalist would almost seem real if one were not in possession of this information. The fact that the book contains no references to St. Elizabeth's, nor to mental insanity furthers the complexity and compellingness of Adam's fictional version of himself. Anyone who is interested in the ways the human mind may go wrong should read "I Didn't Know You Were So Tall" and keep in mind one thing - it is all a sham. However, Adams, despite his insanity manages to push the very limits of fiction and non-fiction to the point where the two arts become one. If not for Adam's delusional schizophrenia, and the fact that there is no evidence he has ever been to South Bend, it would be a charming, homespun story of a local journalist who has a very very dark side. The first time I read this book, and Adam's first book, I truly believed that they were accurate accounts of Mr. Adams' life. However, after several phone calls to first, David Haugh of the South Bent Tribute, then WSBT in South Bend, and finally, the publisher, I was led to St. Elizabeth's, where I came across a disheveled, shifty eyed man who I was told, was the author. It should be noted that he is no taller than 5'2" - thus increasing the amazing depth of the performance art. We are all players in the stage of Mr. Adams insanity. I for one, am all the more appreciative now that I have found out that he is crazy. Bravo I say. Let us all buy this book and hope that someday, Mr. Adams should find his way out of the dark depths that are mental insanity.

A Gift to all Parents of Adult Children
If you have children who are about to leave home...or if they're already gone, you need to read this book. In a humorous and easy to read style, Jane Adams will guide you through the difficulties of dealing with adult children. She will also offer ways for you to be less of a parent and more of a friend. One of the true gifts of this book is the advice she gives that you should allow your children to have their own version of their childhood without them having to defend it. This relieves so much tension between parents and their children! This book is a great platform from which your future parent/child relationship can grow.

Haunted by a Killer in Her Dreams
Lately, 16-year-old Sharon Anders has been having some horrific nightmares, ones in which she's being stalked and stabbed to death by an unknown stranger. With the help of her close friend, Chiku Williams, Sharon hopes to uncover the meaning of her dreams and find a way to finally put an end to them. However, unbeknown to Sharon, her parents have been keeping a dark secret about her birth and a murder that happened 17 years ago, both of which are important links to her torturous nightmares.

"I. O. U." is a great supernatural thriller ideal for teens who enjoy scary books about nightmares, demons, and curses. The only letdown is how quickly the bad guy is to identify (which seems to be a faulty pattern in a few of Nicholas Adams's books). Other than that, "I. O. U." is a fun and easy book to read. Additional dream-related teen thrillers you might like: "Dream Date" by Sinclair Smith (nightmares), "Sweet Dreams" by Kate Daniel (sleepwalking).

Little book--big praise!
I picked up this little book for my baby nephew. Because the book is small (about 6"x6") and has thick cardboard pages it will be ideal for him while he is developing hand-eye coordination. It is bright, colorful, and well illustrated, and overall has a very creative and appealing design. This little book looks ideal for any age up to about 1st or 2nd grade (depending upon reading level) and gives young children interesting knowledge about 10 different sea-creatures. This real-life book is a great alternative to cartoons and make-believe. All around it is a great little book!

More than just a veg book
I'm really not given to new-age books, so I started reading this one without much enthusiasm -- was I ever won over! I admire Carol Adams so much after reading this. She has struggled with living in a fully conscious way that overcomes mental and emotional obstacles and opens the way for both productivity and inner peace, and her story is inspiring and instructive. I just bought the companion Meditations book and am now working my way through it. I really can't say enough about this book. It's truly fortifying and worth a read.
