Indispensable
Three individually published volumes in the Past Masters Series are now published together. Written by three authorities on their subjects, this volume offers a very good balance between the lives and the work of three great economists. Indispensable for the beginner, the three essays are original scholarly contributions to the history of economic thought. They are also a delight to read.

A Modern-Day Machiavelli
I had the pleasure of reading Terry's book of quotations and passages. This young man definitely stands out amongst other Generation X'ers with his phenomenal grasp on the "finer things". He exhibits wisdom well beyond his years and humble upbringing, which leads me to believe that his inspiration must have come from above. Being from a similar background, my understanding of my own life is a proven beneficiary of Terry's sagacity. However, his thoughts are relayed from such a simplistic stance that everyone may learn to view things "Through the Eyes of a Tiger".

Tiger Cub's Surprise (Magic Window Books)

a child's first step into the magic world of books
A journey by Tiger Cub through the forest. He meets all his friends, the elephant, the snake, the hornbill, ant-eater - they all make beautiful sounds, but none of them are for Tiger Cub - until he runs into his friend the frog - his call needeep-needeep gives cub such a surprise - he lets out a loud roar - " ah that's the sound for me!"

The beauty of the book is in it's format - only 5 inches square , in hard, child proof card - alternate pages are either cut-outs showing what's gone before - or in front, with every second page having a transparent window with a bird, butterfly etc. The whole effect gives a magical 3-dimensional experience as the child works his way through the book.

My 16 month old son's reads Tiger Cub first thing each morning , and last thing at night - It's his number 1 choice from his 100+ title library (which ranges from Animalia to Zeuss)

The only trouble is tracking down more in the series ( Magic - Look Again Books) - our copy was published by Readers Digest Australia in 1995. They cannot help me find more in the series.

I'm working my way through the friendly amazon.com forest, and hopefully we will find some more

This is not a fad, this is the real deal!
Being a health researcher, I come across a lot of the junk that people are trying to sell as diets and fads. I've seen hundreds come and go, but the one thing that never gets old is real, honest to goodness science. That is what this author is selling.

I have recommended his book to everyone, whether their goal is weight loss or weight gain, and they have all thanked me. This author is direct and his logic and instructions are easy to follow, and on top of that, he's funny. The book is an enjoyable read and the author's uncanny ability to sense what his reader is thinking and respond to it makes it very comforting as well. You'll feel less like you are being preached to and more like you are talking with a good friend.

Of course, at the end of the day, what is important is the results. Not a single person I know who read this book failed to see results. The program is simple, though some aspects are simpler in theory than in practice (like actually exercising), but the author lays it out in a non-threatening and encouraging way.

Please take it from someone who has been in the business and has seen a lot of worthless miracle diets and exercise fads come and go. This book may not be flashy or have a muscle-bound spokesman endorsing it, but rest assured, it is the best of what I've seen.

A Supurb Introduction
This volume offers a supurb introduction to the delightful range of Johnson's genius (1934-98). It includes previously scarce poems--such as the concretisms of "Songs of the Earth"--as well as late poems which have not appeared in other books. Johnson is a poet of formal condensation and originality, but one whose work provokes delight. O'Leary has done an admirable job in the selection of (and introduction to) this volume--I highly recommend it.

The next best thing to a professional instructor
I have read dozens of "how to improve your golf game" books and this one is head and shoulders above all of them. Every apsect of the golf game is covered with pictures and detailed instructions. Many of the little known rules are taught. Club selection is covered as well as the benefits and disadvantages to certain clubs. Terminology is covered throughout the book. I was impressed at how much detail was given to the various areas of interest that a golfer would need to know. Equipment, the long game, short game, awkward lies, shot making, bunkers, mental preparation, practicing, course etiquette, as well as various apsects of each chapter to help the beginner. Most instructional books neglect ladies and seniors. This book covers the differences between the swings of different sexes and ages.

The beginner, intermediate and advanced golfer will benefit from this book. There is too much information in this book to be disregarded. The authors are both seasoned golf instructors at the PGA level. If there is a better book on the market, i would love to see it. This book is the standard that others must be compared to. This book is well rounded and a perfect resource for any golfer of any age, sex or skill level.

A Serious Look at School Reform
I am a future educator who reccommends this book to all people involved in the educational system. It is filled with intuitive ideas that should be recognized and credited for all that they can be, if they were to be implemented. The authors use common sense approaches that are often neglected in schools. Our educational system really needs to be reformed and changed in order to successfully educate our children. The ideas presented in this book could help do just that.
