This is a good overall view of his work.
My wife and I have one of his watercolor paintings. It was in an old antique shop. It is a mountain stream painting with mountain background.

Rocky Mountain High
This book is the major source for both artistic and historical information about Adams, widely considered to be Colorado's finest impressionist landscape painter. Adams is best known for his stunning views of snowy mountain peaks in early morning or sunset light, or wreathed in storm clouds, and for his luminous twilight and sunset paintings of the river bottoms near Denver. For sample photos from this book, photos of his paintings, and additional information, see the Adams website, charlespartridgeadams.com

Rocky Mountain High, Colorado
Charles Partridge Adams (1858-1942) is widely considered to have been Colorado's finest landscape painter, best-known for his stunning views of snowy mountain peaks in early morning or sunset light, or wreathed in storm clouds, and for his luminous twilight and sunset paintings of the river bottoms near Denver. His paintings are best characterized as impressionistic and subjective. This lavish book contains 92 full-color illustrations of his work in both oils and watercolors, as well as three historical essays about Adams' life and work. A unique feast for those who love the Rocky Mountains and impressionism.

review bongsai landscape 1
nice arrangement with colourful pictures . easy diagrams with simple explanation . recommended for starters and pro .

One of the top two!
Having been involved in bonsai for about 20 yrs and especially like forests & groves, I feeel that Peter's book is one of the two best on the topic. It is imformative, the photographs are excellent, and he gives you step-by-step details for serveral different projects as shown in the book. This, as well as any other of Peter's books, is a must for a bonsai library.

Great informative material
This book was terrific for me both as a beginner and to my friends, Who are long-time Bonsai enthusiasts. The wonderful photography made the reading very enjoyable and also illustrated the topics well.

Well-designed, academic approach
This book assumes some fundamental knowledge about how to play golf. If you want information on how to grip, setup and swing, this ain't the book for you. But, if you want to know how to practice with purpose, break down your strenghts and weaknesses, read a course and avoid letting your ego get in the way of your game, this is a great book.

It's an easy read with a lighthearted and respectful writing style.

so much common sense, it's uncommon
I had seen this book before, but never bought it. Figured it was too simplistic for me (a golfer who can hit some nice, powerful individual shots but just can't string them together over the course of a round). Figured I'd break 100 soon enough, just a matter of time away (along with that one good, elusive golf tip).

Couple years later. I still haven't broken 100 on a par-72 yet, but I do have 20 or so golf books at home to keep me company. Decided this was not working (duh), so took a look at this book.

I like this book for several reasons. It is very clearly organized...you can find what you're looking for. IMHO, there is enough quality info to get a golfer past 100 and beyond, but not so much information as to overwhelm the golfer. After you read through the sections on equipment, short game, full swing, course mgmt, etc., the book takes you through a week-by-week plan to reaching your goal.

Expect instant results after reading this book.
Mike does a great job in describing various techniques for lowering your score to under 100. He talks about the short game, course management for dummies, full shots, the preparation stage for the golf swing and the importance of planned practice. The examples and techniques are simple to apply and easy to follow. Mike goes on to talk about a "Personal Par System" where the golfer approaches, lets say a 500+ yard hole, as a par six. Approaching long holes in this fashion gives the improving golfer a sense of pressure relief (on in four and two putt!). If you go into your round with bogey in mind, you shoot 90!! Please take the time to read this and any other book by Mike Adams. He is a world class golf instructor.

My classmate, Adam
Adam's story takes place when we were in 3rd grade in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. His story touched all the students and we were very impressed with his book. Being a teacher, I like to share stories that touch me with my students. Adam's book is obviously written by a child for children. The students love the fact that they are around the same age Adam was at the time. They also like the idea that a child can actually write a book to be published. It gives them inspiration to be writers themselves.

A Treasured Friend
I bought this book more than a decade past at a convention about gifted children. I loved it then and marveled that a boy so young could write such an incredible book, and that there was a publisher so brave and generous to bring it to the public eye. Just recently, January 7, 2003, I revisted this old friend of a book and was even more inspired by its courage and vision than I was all those years ago. I am sure Adam Moore is all grown up now and I pray that he is happy and well. Thank goodness, I now discover via Amazon.com that his terrific book is still available to both kids and adults. This is a great story and one of a boy's triumph over enormous odds and terrible pain to regain his life. Broken Arrow Boy is a triumph of the will and the spirit that people will benefit from reading again and again. This is a book children and their parents should share. Broken Arrow Boy is like an old friend. It calls for many reunions.

Broken Arrow Boy
This book is incredible to have been written by a young boy. Adam Moore kept a positive attitude through many complications that occured after he fell on a arrow that went into his brain through his eye. He gives details of many medical procedures in a way that is interesting to children. I have read it to second graders every year since I discovered it, and they love it. I use it to encourage them to write about things that happen to them.

Good manual
If you are starting out on a telemetry unit, or just want to review some anatomy, physiology and pathology, this is a pretty good book. It also gives info on contemporary testing and surgical interventions for cardiac diseases. A little pricey, but I would reccomend it.

WOW
Extremely detailed, thorough, and technical. Everything you ever wanted to know about the heart without being a physician. Covers everything from physical assessments and findings, to every procedure and preparation, to wave forms and EKG rhythm interpretation and analysis. Technical physiology.

Cardiac Nursing
This book is excellent for nursing students!

Good organization and breakdown, etc.
Laurie Schneider-Adams has organized this book quite well, grouping chapters in ways that emphasize the interactions of cultures and the effects this had on the development of art. Non-western art doesn't take a back seat in this book, either. Overall, the most important thing is that she doesn't write as if art developed in a vacuum; the social, political, cultural, etc., reasons for how and why art was created is what art history is all about, and Schneider-Adams' book serves to show us that.

Very informative and terrific images
After using Gardner's Art Through the Ages and Janson's History of Art for several years I found this book to be very refreshing. The sections on Eastern countries (India, China, Japan), although small, are better in introducing subjects not previously addressed in early Art History introductory texts. The inclusion of other historical elements adds to the text as well-such as the status of women in particular societies and information about different religions.

Art Across Time
The vastness of the world art subject is daunting but I believe that Laurie Schneider Adams in Art Across Time successfully covers the most crucial aspects including areas of non-western art. Such examples as Mughal Art and the Baroque or 19th Century Impressionism and Japanese Prints or Gauguin and Oceania in Post Impressionism are invaluable for their strategic placing and representation of non-western models. There are also highlighted tables throughout the book about contextual history as is the one on Scientific Experiment in the Enlightenment. Furthermore, the introductory chapter contains key issues about art as well as stylistic terminology, and art historical methodologies which are a necessary part of art history for beginners. The plates are beautiful and are accompanied at times with plans and maps that are useful aids in the teaching process. The Art Across Time, volume one and two, are extremely important to those college instructors teaching Survey in two semesters, but the volumes are also useful separately. Schneider Adams writes in a flowing discourse that is facile for the undergraduate to understand and explains difficult ideas in precise, well organized formats that are easily assimilated. To be sure there are tiny flaws in Schneider-Adams' Art Across Time, but the book comes as close to perfection as one can get given the magnitude of this area. Finally, the publisher is extremely helpful to instructors providing such teaching aids as cds, slides and the images on the web for wireless environment classroom teaching.

VERY VERY GOOD
this book is very helpful in getting you in touch with your inner self and outer self. I feel every woman should own a copy!

I think it was informative, but could have had more on males
It was quite informative for females in that when you found out your moon, sun, venus, mercury, mars and rising signs you could really begin to understand why your life is like it is and also it helps you get in touch with sides you never thought you had. However, I feel there could have been more on our compatibility with males on a one on one basis.

very readable
This is an up to date, easy access information book for all women. Particularly helpful are the do it yourself charts at the back of the book. Very suitable for a good value for money birthday present.

Pretty...good
I bought this books in hope of getting lots of great ideas! I love pictures for ideas and there were minimal pictures...the menus were so so and pretty complicated. Some great ideas thrown in the midst of all the "stuff". Good book for those who don't need visual inspiration and can create recipes with ease!

beautiful yet practical
Now let's be fair. I wouldn't call a book with full page photos every other page minimally pictured. Topping the quantity of the pictures is the quality--crisp, rich, highly inspiring. (If you like the magazine Real Simple, you will like this book.)

Some of the recipes look complicated but are in fact fairly easy to follow. I tried a few and the results came out pretty close to the pictures. Every menu comes in a Plan Ahead version and a Last Minute version. So if you are in a time crunch and still want to impress your friends, this book is for you.

Love It
I found this book to be incredibly inspiring. The ideas and the recipes are new and inventive. It's beautifully photographed and well written--a definite keeper!

As an actor -- it reaches a bit far
Speaking as an actor who has done college productions of both "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" and "The Complete History of America," let me start by saying this script is just as funny, if not funnier, than the previous two. However, speaking as someone who is performance-minded, I gotta think this one goes a bit overboard. It's not the controversy -- heck, I'm Catholic myself and the jokes don't bother me -- but some of the bits included require a bit more skill than your average person has. What if no one in your production can play the accordion? Or the piano? Or balance a ladder on his chin? And while I enjoyed learning to make balloon animals for "The Complete History of America," who the heck do you call to teach you how to juggle flaming torches? Still, it really is a fun script and I only wish I had the opportunity to watch these guys perform it in person.

If Jesus was a Marx Brother....
I have seen the Reduced Shakespeare Company perform this play and these guys are absolutely hysterical! This book provides a very funny overview of the Bible. Even if you haven't read it or aren't Catholic (I fall into both of those categories), they make all of the theology and history easily accessible. You don't have to be an expert in religion to see the humor of the Three Wisemen playing catch with a ball and mitt (birthday gifts) in the desert on their way to visit the baby Jesus! These guys are truly clever, quick and funny and I can recommend this and their other books highly.

Blasphemy, what?
The Reduced Shakespeare Company has done it again - I saw this on tour, and it was great! I recommend to anyone, unless your the queasy religious type who may be offended! Also read The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) and the Complete History of America (abridged) ... be prepared to laugh! Techies rule!

The wonderfully witty world of Shelly Renee
I laughed my head off at some of the jokes in this book. My only regret was that there were not more stories about the comic genius of Clean Comedian's inspiration and muse, Shelly Renee.

great resource
This is a wonderful book for anyone who enjoys speaking in public. I use this and Bottled Wisdom:Over 1,000 Spirited Quotations and Anecdotes by Mark Pollman as resources for entertaining quotes.

Didn't think they could make light of death...
I was looking for some jokes to lighten the mood for my speech on cancer, and this book was loaded with funny, clean jokes on just about everything! I highly reccommend this book if you want to add a degree of funniness to your speeches.
