I did not like this book at all.
I did not like this book at all. I thought it would help on the dating scene or help rekindle the lost flame, but it did neither. I advise you not to buy it, instead buy something better. It just was a bunch of sayings that people said-thats all.

Shameless Plagiarism!
Though an interesting concept for a book, I could not get past the ... encountered in a particular scene. The author doesn't even make an effort to conceal this ...! If you are familiar with the 1984 movie "Teachers" starring Nick Nolte and Ralph Macchio, you will no doubt recognize the "No Reprisals" scene where the class is asked to create an essay (in any format) depicting what is wrong with their school. Ralph Macchio then produces a slide-show featuring photographs of the school's biggest problems. Mindy Neff's book's scene is a line by line re-enactment of the movie's scene. I'm all for supporting budding authors, but I expect their work to be original.

Worst Reproductions Ever!
I have seen and own many books filled with Ansel Adams' photography. This book contains the WORST reproductions of his photographs that I have ever seen. All of the photos are grainy and have poor contrast. The problems with these photographs are found only in this particular book. The selection of photographs in some sections also leaves much to be desired.

Very deceiving!
Technically, Ansel Adams is well known for his "zone system" and his large format cameras, that helped him to get breath-taking pictures, in the artistic sense and also in the technical sense. The large format allowed him to get in his film the tiniest detail and the "zone system", to get the cleanest whites, the deepest blacks and the widest range of gray tones, all in the same picture. Well, in this book you would find the WORST copies of Ansel's plates... I don't know if he used 8x10 plates, but most pictures are smaller than that and they are all printed at 150 dpi!!!!! (I actually measured that, my... printer does 10 times better!!!!). Even worse, the pictures are completely gray!! I was not able to find a single spot of pure white or deep black, just a few gray tones in there! This book is really a bad joke... I also have the 2001 Ansel Adams calendar, that one is well printed, so nobody can lie to me concerning Ansel's printing technique, he is a genius! (Go for the calendar, it's good!) I found in the book (I quote): "This book is independent of, and not authorized by Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust." Of course it is NOT!!! Ansel must be rolling over in his grave! Well, it's true that the book isn't expensive, but what's the point of a bad printed photo book? I still have to read the text, I hope it is worth... Save your bucks... or even better... spend in a well printed Ansel's book!

Cover design an insult to Adams
Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover! Here Adams' photograph has been downgraded from work of fine art to mere "design element." This is a sure sign of a schlocky book -- no publisher with any clue about fine art would ever obliterate an artist's creation by placing three other pictures on top of it. To do so violates one of the cardinal rules of fine art publishing.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY !!!!
You are forewarned, I received this book from a close friend for my birthday as she knew my of extreme interest in a the various conspiracy theories which are circulating through society via the Interent and other sources. However, this book is not recomended unless you are interested in someone's personal opinion, someone who offers no substantial evidence, bibliography, and is not even college educated, the book even goes to say "the author relied upon intuition to develop the issues described," thus we are left with a book of fairy tale pseudo science, weak information, theories any creative individual with a pen could conjur up, and ridiculous statements such as the following: "blondness is a trait of those who are highly evolved. . .thus the occidentals are obviously the most evolved species." You get the point. It is quite obvious the author, Mr.MacRauramer,(great pen name), wote screenplays which is stated at the rear of the book. If you are interested in heresay, myth, pseudo science, and delusioinal disinformation and will buy any bull that is published as factual information, get this book, if you are a discerning, intelligent human avoid this book at all costs, it will surely upset your stomach. The author ruins any credibility his theories (such as his UFO theories - which he dismisses as rubberish) may offer through his ignorant remarks which are sprinkled throughout the text.

Canada, Good Neighbor to the World (Discovering Our Heritage)

A Sinister Tale
In the guise of our "good neighbor" to the North, Canada continues its secret and meticulous plans to subjugate innocent noncombatants through telepathy and endoplasmic alteration. Adam Bryant is either a liar or a fool. Judging from his flatulent prose and chaotic organization, one is tempted to assume the latter. Yet his rough edges seem so deliberate that it is fair to ask: Mr. Bryant, What is YOUR frequency? By carefully reading between the lines, one's worst fears are amply confirmed.
