the gesticulative lexicographer
Andrea Del Jorio penned this work in the nineteenth century, and now Adam Kenton has gracefully brought it into twentieth-century English. Amusing, informative: a sheer delight to read, and you'll laugh heartily with recognition.

Do you bite your thumb at me, sir?

No, but I do bite my thumb!

Now, you'll know why.

Great Holiday book for all ages.--Very Funny
Looking for a gift for someone who has everything? Well this is the one. Fun little cartoons which sometimes are even like a riddle for you to figure out but once you do you'll be laughing eggnog out your nose. Phantom of the cookie jar, Migraine gingerbread and Ginger European woman (gingerbread woman with hairy legs) are some of my favorite. Also look for others in the series Like "Frosty Mugs"- Happy Hollidoodles

Interesting information about the dollar bill!
I am a third grade teacher and this is a super book to use when teaching about money. It's a story about how a dollar gets passed on from person to person. At the bottom of every page there are interesting facts about the dollar bill, such as the serial number, what a dollar bill is made of, etc. Students will find this book enthralling!

An incredible adventure story about a day out with an Australian Aboriginal family, in the bush. The watercolour illustrations are beautiful, and the story elegant. Will be enjoyed by any age.

Short story collection of life in Rochester, NY in 1800s
Samuel Hopkins Adams, the author, grew up in Rochester, NY, where he was privileged to know both his grandfathers. His grandfathers Adams and Hopkins lived in the 19th Ward of Rochester during the early 1800s. They both shared stories of life in that period and what it was like to work on building "Clinton's ditch," more commonly known as the Erie Canal. This is a wonderful collection of short stories, written in a warm style, using intriguing words and expressions that arouse one's curiosity &, more often than not, had me scurrying to the dictionary for clarification as to meaning. The stories themselves are easily accessible and convey a wonderful sense of place and ambiance behind the stories.

These are great stories to read aloud to 10- and 11-year-old children or even to read, curled up in bed, after a stressful day. Just the antidote the doctor ordered!

Excellent
Perhaps we are upset by the stock market, the laid off and the slow-down economy. And of course, the stock option ticked us off because it can't help us to buy a million dollar home and a new Porsche.

OR, perhaps we are not happy about our parent since they cut our allowance and refuse to buy us the new playstation.

If we think we have nothing to thanks for, we must get this book. It is good for teenage, adult and elderly, especially the one who lost money in the stock market, lost confident on the future and lost patient on the current situation.

"Fear sees limits; Gratitude sees possibilities" - page 25. Gratitude therapy can brighten your present and future. I cashed out the pennyworth stock and just get enough money to buy this book. Guess what? This book is by far my best investment of this year. I love the content as well as the layout of this book; brief meaningful text on the left page and creative graphics on the right. I love the excellent illustration. Thank you God for Alley's creative mind and talented drawing skill. A positive attitude with a thankful heart will definitely bring us a promising future. I wish George Bush have read this book.

My daughter loves it.
This book is terrific. Our daughter started enjoying it at about 12 months and continues to enjoy it now at 16 months. She likes the cute mice, and the things she can recognize from life, for example, birds, berries, cats, bees, etc.

The book starts out with an invitation from the mouse to be its friend. After that, we learn about what a mouse looks like, baby mice, what mice eat, scary things to mice, and another invitation to friendship.

The book is wittily written.

The other books in this series are excellent as well.

My only complaint is that the book opens at the top. That makes it hard to sit with my daughter in my lap and flip through it with her.
