a basic book on what is really known about runes
This is basic information on what is known about english & scandinavian runes (with an emphasis on english runes), without all the new-age magic bulls**t found in most other books. If you're going to make up fantasies about the runes, read this first so you can base them somewhat on reality! This book is academic, that is, its carefully researched & truthful.

A Magnificent Visual Tribute
This coffee table book is a magnificent visual tribute to the rustic artists who dedicate themselves to creating "exquisitely handcrafted home furnishings and decor straight from nature". The photographs by the author are stunning and provide a rare visit to some multi-million-dollar homes. This is a wonderful book to display and to share with family and friends. As with all of Ralph Kylloe's books, the production is top-notch, the text is informative and thought-provoking, and the photography is awe-inspiring!

A Scathing Satirical & Hilarious Political Look at the USA
Hunter S. ( Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas) Thompson's illustrator, friend and drinking buddy, Ralph Steadman, turns his pen, colors, thoughts and attention to an America where "even God can be acquired with a credit card."

This collection of paintings and drawings, in color and black and white, satirizes the Land of the Free and was published in the late 80s. It looks at the Nixon years, Vietnam, Watergate and Reagan in a "take no prisoners" manner, suggesting that the quality of life depends on personal wealth and air-conditioning.

A Britisher, Steadman is one of the world's leading illustrators. His look at the USA is not bound by conditioning or preconceived ideas. A terrific book, full of laughs and rueful considerations. Another addition to Steadamn's wonderful body of work.

not just homocidal aesthetics
The implications of this book and the works it discusses are grand and engrossing. While most of the work discussed does in one way or another deal with a literal 'crime', this does not limit the arguments developed from associating the 'forensic aesthetic' to our expanded post-modern reality and the way in which signification and meaning do not necessarily correspond neatly, ESPECIALLY when space is involved. The 'investigative' positivism of a passed era is elucidated in light of artworks that even today challenge our comfort with Truth, History, Memory, and Documentation, by pointing out the 'contingent' and shifting role of Evidence.
