Ralph Steadman was the perfect artist to accompany the crazy, drug-addled travel writing of Hunter S. Thompson. Even though Steadman is not a serious user of hallucinogenics, his art can be very deceiving otherwise. A real gem of an art book.

Rossum and Tarr have enclosed, in a simple and easily used volume, a good examination of the important caselaw relating to the bill of rights. The authors' commentary is thoughtful and concise, and the edited cases are very accessible without being so edited as to remove the substance of the law. A fine book for anyone looking to introduce themselves to Constitutional Law.

Five chapters of fascinating reading if you are interested in perspectives of complexity, dynamical systems, chaos and strange attractors as they might be described in the field of psychological research.  The editors offer this as a "tutorial on systems theory." It is a complex book written by some of our best leaders in this field of research   The chapter on basic principles lead by Frederick Abraham is worth the price of admission, and Ralph Levine's discussion of philosophical assumptions about system dynamics is excellent.

This is a great overview of printed scores from all the periods of music history beginning with the Medieval Chant to 1979. Each score is in its entirety or is an important section of a piece. The pieces contained within are quintessential pieces by each composer, thus making this workbook a must have for any college music student.

This is an excellent book for 4-12th grades. It has interesting writing and project ideas to stimulate creative learning. It would also be a valuable resource for homeschool parents teaching on the subject of the Ancient World.

I have been a discussion leader in Lay Bible Study and discussion groups for 5 years. This book is one of the best I have ever read on helping people come to an understanding of the intent of the author's of Biblical writings. The Author Dr Ralph, has a gift for putting her thoughts down in clear and concice manner. I have recommended it to each member of my classes this spring. I think it is a must have and study for anyone studying the Bible.

Professor McInerny's translation of this polemical work of Aquinas' is clear and readable. His interpretive notes provide extremely helpful elucidation of the original text. The book has been quite useful for me in my understanding of Aquinas' theory of the nature of the human intellect.

Mashburn writes terrific books. His Postcard Guide is the best general book out there. He also does specialized postcard books such as this one. Anyone who collects artist-signed postcards will want this book, no question about it.

It is filled with hundreds of pages and pictures of all our favorite artists, like Harrison Fisher, Philip Boileau, Earl Christy, as well as the more obscure yet fabulous artists like Lupiac and others. He covers a variety of categories, like Beautiful Ladies, Beautiful Children, Nudes, Blacks, Sports, and Comics. He includes a reference section in the front which goes over important information such as how to determine the age of a card, grade a card's condition, and so on. My only quibble with this book is that all the inside images are in black and white, and I would have loved to see some in color. Perhaps in the next edition.
