Every patient diagnosed with cancer has to have this book!
Ralph Moss provides the most authoritative criticisms and evaluation of alternative cancer therapies. People should begin with Questioning Chemotherapy and then move onto any of his other books. The other book that should follow is John Boik's Cancer & Natural Medicine

Best book I've ever read on chemotherapy
Ralph Moss' "Questioning Chemotherapy" is a book that every person faced with cancer must read before submitting to toxic chemicals which may very well destroy the body's immune system.

Unlike many alternative health authors who base their conclusions on anecdotal evidence, Moss uses the medical establishment's own research to prove that in almost all instances chemotherapy is NOT a viable approach to improving cancer survival rates.

Moss also makes the important point that current cancer research has never bothered to examine the mental anguish, physical suffering, and poor quality of life endured by almost everyone whose doctors talk or scare them into undergoing chemotherapy.

Learning about the economics behind chemotherapy drives the final nail into the coffin of a "therpy" that educated people in the future will consider outrageous and reflective of the current dark ages of so-called modern medicine.

This is a must read book for anyone who wants to know the truth behind chemotherapy or anyone whose doctor wants to inject toxic chemicals into their bloodstream.

Brilliant!
I loved this bio of Ellison, the first to be published, and its focus on the early years. The writing is top-notch and Jackson has clearly done exhaustive research to uncover an amazing amount of fascinating detail. Belongs in any reader's collection devoted to American and African American literature and history.

Ralph Ellison: Emergence of a Genius
This is the most detailed look at Ellison's life that I've seen. This biography covers his path from poverty in Oklahoma to becoming part of the literary elite in the early 1950's. The author examines Ellison's involvement in the black rights movement and his relationships with Langston Hughes and Richard Wright. From start to finish, this is a fascinating read.

A wonderful selection of essays!
I've had to read parts of this book for various classes, and read the rest on my own. Whether he's talking about his day, or the future, Emerson is right on the mark for many things, from the need to be self-reliant to society's views on religion. Of course, there are some things I don't agree with, as you'll also find...but there are just so many quotable lines here, which are incredibly thought-provoking and inspirational. If you haven't read this, please do!

excellent retrospective of ages
histories, biographies, criticism, singular people like woodmen are the heroes through the ages; a booh making us stronger.

ralph`s secret weapon
Ralph`s Secret Weapon

Steven Kellogg who wrote the mysterious tadpole has written another book . The story is Ralph`s Secret Weapon. The book is published by Dial books and is for 7-9 year olds.
The main charecter Ralph who goes and stays with his aunt Georgina for the summer. The author Steven Kellogg wrote another book about an animal but thisw time it not a tadpole. My favorite thing is when Ralph uses his secret weapon. My least favorite thing was when Ralph plays the bassoon because its real loud and can break glass. What happend to the dragon did he get sick , or did he die .
I liked it because his secret weapon is a funny weapon and is disgusting to Ralph.

Bassoon book
This book is very cute and funny. The pictures are hilarious and add a lot to the story. As a bassoonist,I think the best thing about this book is that Ralph plays the bassoon. Just try to find another picture book with a bassoon in it!

Excellent
How could any book of essays by today's leading philosophers and thinkers not be absolutely excellent--and this one is!

An outstanding anthology of original thought and analysis.
Ralph McInery (Michael P. Grace Professor of Medieval Studies at the University of Notre Dame) was the author of numerous works in philosophy, literature, and journalism whose clear, persistent, and creative defenses of natural theology and natural law helped to establish a dialogue between theists and non-theists, a dialogue that contributed to the moral and political renewal of American culture in general, and providing some of the philosophical foundations for Catholic theology in particular. Recovering Nature: Essays In Natural Philosophy, Ethics, and Metaphysics in Honor of Ralph McInery brings together essays by an impressive group of scholars that includes William Wallace, O.P.; Jude P. Dougherty; John Haldane; Thomas DeKonick; Alasdair MacIntrye; David Solomon; Daniel McInerny; Janet E. Smith; Michael Novak; Stanley Hauerwas; Laura Garcia; Alvin Plantinga; Alfred J. Freddoso; and David B. Burrell, C.S.C. Recovering Nature is an outstanding anthology of thought and a fitting tribute honoring a most distinguished scholar, educator, and theologian of the Catholic faith.

Beautiful poetry for teenagers
When searching for love poems that my 9th and 10th grade students would enjoy during Valentine's week, I found poem after poem in this slender book to which they could relate -- about first touches, first broken hearts, first words of love. Even a high school English class comes to life in a one poem. A terrific book to give as a present to a teenager or to use in a high school classroom.

Beautiful, Inspiring, Thought-Provoking Poetry
Room Enough for Love is a collection of short, free verse poems centering on the life of adoloescents. It is rare to find poetry specifically meant for teens and pre-teens, especially poetry that is as moving as that of Fletcher's in this book. In his many short poems Fletcher covers teen topics such as crushes, childhood memories, teachers, parents, etc. But take it from my students, many of whom have read and loved the book: these are not silly poems that talk down to teens and from an author who pretends to undertand but really doesn't. Fletcher does seem to remember what it was like to be that age, and his poems vibrate with such memories. It is because they are so real that my students, grades 6-12, love them so much.

Truely Understanding "Us"
I am a teenager and I know what its like to feel like you can't breathe when your not with someone. The teen years are some of the hardest in my opinion and this book puts everything we feel into words that we normally cannot express. Being a teen is hard but its even tougher when your a teen who is in love. This book made it easier on me and others as well I suspect! So, to the author, thank you for putting our thoughts into a book!

Wonderful poetry! Easy to relate to and understand.
These poems are simpily and honestly about teenagers in and out of love. There isn't volumes of hidden meaning or deep messages, the words speak for themselves and easily touch you. If you have ever had a crush or been in love, reading Mr. Fletcher's poems will seems like reading the emotions of your heart. I highly recomend this book!

Rural Texas Sayings: Voices from the Great Depression
Thank goodness someone thought to compile old country sayings of rural Texas! Truly a glimpse of rural Texas life, a historic, gem of a book. It reminded me of the memorable times I listened with great attention to my grandfather's colorful stories which amused me and appalled my parents. I'm so glad that we won't lose these timeless sayings forever as generations die. Just wish that I'd thought of writing this delightful book.

Funny, Witty, Simply Brilliant!!
This book is simply wonderful. The sayings can be appreciated and enjoyed by anyone, but especially by those originating from the South, as the sayings come from rural Texas. You won't be disappointed!

A Must Read For All Women
The concept of this book deals with an ever increasing problem in our society- anger and violence. This is an excellent book in that it outlines very clearly the definition of violence and gives pertinent resources for the resolution of violence.

It is a must read for ALL WOMEN because: it empowers them to recognize an abusive relationship before becoming to involved with an abuser and deters them from accepting abuse, it provides information and guidance for those who are involved in an abusive relationship, and empowers them to leave, lastly, it gives information on how abuse not only affects the individual, but children and eventually society.

This book is a great contribution to anger and violence awareness and to the eradication of such an evil.

Prevention/Diagnosis of an Abuser
Looking back on my Sociology class in college, I have discovered that this would have been a GREAT resource book to accompany my text. The author has organized an ideal characterization of an abuser and his victim. Perhaps through reading this book, many potential dependent women will become independent and their eyes will be open to the factors contributing to being physically, mentally, and or sexually abused. There are wonderful charts and diagrams (Venn) regarding the mental and physical factors of the abuser and the victim. The author has done a very good job in identifying the "cycle" of abuse. So many victims have closed their eyes to what they know as reality and choose to believe what is false. The section on "The cycle of abuse" was very informative. In closing, this was an informative, eye-opening reality check that must be read by all.

Salamanders of Ohio (Bulletin New Series, Vol 7, No 2)

Highly recommended
Pfingsten and Downs have put together one of the best books on salamanders a person can find. The amount and detail of the information collected is great, and is useful to anyone wishing to learn more about salamanders. The books focus is obviously on Ohio salamanders, which for me is great, but anyone anywhere will find the book useful as a great source of information on the various species. Includes both larval and adult identification guides, and color photos, which are a great help to everyone, novice and expert. I highly recommend this book.

Salamanders of Ohio
This is a great book for individuals serious about finding and identifying salamanders. A bit of previous knowledge of salamanders is helpful but not necessary. The amount of life history information given for each species is excellent. Although the book is written specifically for Ohio, most of the identification keys apply to the surrounding states as well. The key to larval salamanders is especially helpful as keys of this nature are difficult to find. Although the book lacks color photos, the black and white photos are good, and the diagrams are quite clear.
