How to Form Your Own California Corporation (9th Ed)
Good examples. Fairly comprehensive. Good discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of forming a California corporation. The Corporate Tax section has some good pointers. Good writing style! It flows. But the diskette has only a fraction of the business and corporation related forms compared to "Small Busines Kit for Dummies". Overall, I recommend this book for a new commer. Well worth the money.

An Excellent Book for Young Writers
This charming little book offers a solid, user-friendly introduction to the fundamental steps of the writing process. Fletcher uses a clear and simple prose style to lead young readers through the creative writing process, from generating an idea and writing the first draft, to rereading and revising, to proofreading, editing, and publishing. Along the way, he discusses the importance of finding a suitable place to write, strategies for brainstorming, and methods of overcoming writer's block. Also included are several author interviews to provide alternative approaches to the writing process as well as a bibliography of recommended fiction and writing-related nonfiction. Beginning writers of any age may find inspiration in the practical strategies and encouraging sentiments set forth in this simple but elegant guide.

my son loves it!
I bought this book for my son for his 4th birthday (he helped pick it out) and it is one of his favorite books. He has had it less than 6 months and can tell you what every bug is and something about it. If you have a bug lover its a great book.

In Search of Swampland: A Wetland Sourcebook and Field Guide
Published in Paperback by Rutgers University Press (July, 1998)
Author: Ralph W. Tiner
Amazon base price: $26.00
Average review score:

Excellent coverage of a timely topic
I have an interest in wetlands science and this book gives an excellent introductory review of the topic. The drawings are excellent; but I wish that there were more color plates of the flora and fauna; this, of course, would have raised the cost of the book. The bibliography at the end of the chapters are helpful if you need more information. The controversial area of hydric soils is also covered very well.

Overall a very good first book.

Striking black and white photos.
This is a beautiful and intriguing collection of black and white photographs. The subjects are all female (if you count one baby, of indeterminate gender), and are frequently nude. If you are open minded, I think you will find many (perhaps all) of these pictures erotic -- whatever your sexual orientation. However, this is art, not mediocre porn.

The images are generally fragments of women's bodies: a breast, a foot, a chin, a face, or just an eye. This makes it sound as if the women are objectified, but the photos always seem to invite us to revel in the beauty of the form. I, at least, feel that the pictures produce a sort of tender admiration (an "erotic" gaze, in the proper Greek sense of the term).

I disagreed with the reviewer who found Mary Gaitskill's Afterword "vulgar." (But then, Gaitskill tends to polarize readers.) Her brief essay explores her own feelings and experiences with how she and we view the naked female form, including its beauties, power, and vulnerabilities.

I found this a moving book; perhaps you will too.

Public Infrastructure Management
This book provides a helpful tool in trying to understand how the public infrastructure works for us. It stresses how important organization of information is when dealing with a system this large with many integral pieces. Without public infrastructure in this day and age, where would we be? As an example, we often take our roadways for granted. But we never stop to think about how much work is involved in maintaing them, the volume of materials needed, and where the funding comes from. Without coordination and a strong infrastructure management database system, upkeep of important public infrastructure on a daily basis would never be possible. This book put an interesting perspective on how the puzzle is put together.

Excellent elementary proofs
Beautiful elementary proof of Bertrand's Postulate (p 157). More emphasis on the "greatest interger" function (called the floor function sometimes) than many text. This is quite helpful in exposition, particularly the Mobius inversion formula and the aforementioned proof.

Not quite the scope of Hardy and Wright, or Niven and Zuckerman. And of course it's now dated, but the elemntary exposition is worth it.

The author's proof of Bertrand's Postulate became an offprint of Scripta Mathematica demonstrating it's merit (Scripta Mathematica Vol. X1, Nos. 2, June 1945).

Good for all Christians
I thought this was a good book, even if you are not Catholic. Ralph Martin uses many examples from the Bible to illustrate the Catholic perspective on the Second Coming. The one downside to this book is that, at some points, it can be little bit difficult to understand for younger readers. This was a good book!

Playing togheter
If you haven't had the chance to play togheter with other people this could give you a clue what it's like. You get a cd with comp that you can play along with and a musicbook with harmonica notation that shows how the songs are built and examples of how you can play. There are slow blues, faster blues, rock etc and they are played in different keys so you need moore than one harmonica if you should be able to play them all(except if you play the chromatic harmonica). Some of the playing examples where good but I learned most from playing togheter with the Cd where I learned how and when bluessongs changes keys within the song. This book/Cd showed me that you don't have to play many notes just to sound good - it even sounds good if you just play the keynotes togheter with Ralph Agresta and his band.
