Absolutely loved it!
I read this book two years ago when I was sitting in the library with nothing to do. What struck me most about this book is how unique and sincere the feelings are told in this story. It tells the tale of a young lady who, during the American Revolution, helps her next door neighbor who is a young soldier , by acting as a spy at a local British household she works in. It tells about the changes war can induce in people and how the young pair fall in love though he is unwilling at first to admit the way he feels because he thinks she should be with someone who has not suffered as much as himself, having seen and done horrible things in the war. Recommend strongly!

Transits - The Time of Your Life
As a professional astrologer that has taught astrology incommunity centres and schools for over 14 years, I am always lookingfor books that will give my students a understanding of astrology! Many transit books tend to treat the subject as a sort of "ingredient list" -- no Lundsted's book!

Drawn from years of professional experience as a consulting astrologer, her insights and writing style give the reader "real life" interpretations, without having to go through boring case studies!

Gives new meaning to the phrase, "embroidering a story!"
If you appreciate beautifully and creatively illustrated children's books, you will want to seek out this little gem. "Two by Two" tells the classic tale of Noah's Ark in a series of exquisite embroidered panels. It is truly amazing what Betty Youngs can do with needle and thread. The nuances of texture and color give the pictures a depth and interest that exceeds most ordinary illustrations. Youngs died in an accident relatively early in her career, leaving a very small body of work. It's a pity she's not better known, particularly in the U.S. You won't be sorry with this one, if you can find it!

The role gender and social conventions play
Betty DeBerg's Ungodly Women: Gender And The First Wave Of American Fundamentalism is a seminal, ground-breaking examination of the role gender and social conventions play in framing religious fundamentalism in America between 1880 and 1930. Ungodly Women is a highly recommended, exceptionally well researched and presented, scholarly and informative treatise that would be a welcome addition to any American history, women's studies, popular culture, and religious studies reading list or curriculum supplement.

IT SOMETIMES TAKES COURAGE TO GRAB YOUR LOVE
BACK COVER: "She needed to believe in herself !
Victoria was a very pretty girl, but with three sisters even prettier than she, Victoria had developed a bit of a complex about her looks. So when attractive Alexander van Schuylen made it clear he liked her, and admired her efficiency at her job, she really didn't expect any more from him - he was so impressed with her sisters' beauty, how could she ? But if his feelings for Victoria did run deep, she could be in danger of losing him, entirely through her own fault."

I must admit to a fondness for Betty Neels' Cinderella stories, but I found this deviation from that theme equally satisfying and fun. This story will make you smile and sigh and hold your breath and cry. The heroine is a self deprecating lovely young woman who wants desperately to believe that her love can be returned. But being a hard working realistic person, she is afraid to believe in happily ever after when other facts and "truths" seem to fly in the face of her dream. This is a wonderful story of a too-stoic hero, his wicked tricky girlfriend, an equally wicked cocky young doctor who fancies the heroine, and the wonderful tangle that can be made with stolen mail and slick lies and missed opportunities. But most of all, it is the story of a lovely, kind heroine who finds her courage to go after the man she loves. Her tenacity and spunk will make your day !
A treat for loyal Neels readers and a fun introduction to new readers.
