This book is a book about two kids that try to be detectives and help a neibor that is in the hospital. At the end they find the burgalr and get in trouble for catching him. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat!

I read this book two years ago when I was sitting in the library with nothing to do. What struck me most about this book is how unique and sincere the feelings are told in this story. It tells the tale of a young lady who, during the American Revolution, helps her next door neighbor who is a young soldier , by acting as a spy at a local British household she works in. It tells about the changes war can induce in people and how the young pair fall in love though he is unwilling at first to admit the way he feels because he thinks she should be with someone who has not suffered as much as himself, having seen and done horrible things in the war. Recommend strongly!

The nuances of texture and color give the pictures a depth and interest that exceeds most ordinary illustrations. Youngs died in an accident relatively early in her career, leaving a very small body of work. It's a pity she's not better known, particularly in the U.S. You won't be sorry with this one, if you can find it!
