Experience samadi while reading!
Reading the book, "Dancing with the Void" was a rare experience! Although it is clearly written and not over-long, it took me rather a long time to get through the book because reading it allowed me to touch the mind of Sunyata, and I kept going into samadi. Sometimes several times per page. Sunyata, it seems, is truely a "rare-born mystic" and the clear and respectful editing by Camhi and Rai allows one to experience his presence in a most dynamic way.

I would encourage anyone interested in the inner life to experience this wonderful book -- and through it the mind of Sunyata.

One of the rare ones
Remarkably pure, this man Sunyata, in his every expression. He's living the essence of what we're all looking for.

Wonderful way to draw your child closer to God!
My 4 year old daughter and I finished this book and she was not only excited about finishing her first "big" book, but she told me how much she enjoyed reading it every night before bedtime. She faithfully reminded me (even when I thought I was too tired to read it to her) that it was time for devotions. It also allowed her and I quality time together and for her to ask questions about God's Word. Recommend highly.

Great positive and supportive daily devotions for children.
This book with positive children's devotions will be appreciated by both children and adults. The attractive artwork with multi-cultural drawings embellishes the devotions for our current society.

The Deadly Thorn

The Deadly Thorn will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I can't get over it. Whether it be a stand alone, such as THE DEADLY THORN, or part of her Hawkman series, Ms La Pierre never ceases to amaze me with her talent.

Jimmy and Sally Oliver had been married just three months, and Sally couldn't figure out what had gone wrong. Before they were married, Jimmy had courted her with roses, and had been so gentle. But after they had said their "I do's" things started to go so wrong. He became totally controlling, and hit her for things that she didn't understand. And it was getting worse. But she still loved him, and thought that things would get better.

That was until she received a phone call from a woman who professed to be Jimmy's third wife. Third wife! Sally didn't even know that there had been one previous wife, much less three of them. It seems, according to the woman who called, that two of the previous wives had both died in "accidents". Accidents in which Jimmy collected rather large insurance proceeds. The "wife" on the phone said that she had found an insurance policy taken out on her, while married to Jimmy, and had run away, changing her name, in order to protect her life. She suggested that Sally do the same before it was too late.

Sally searched the house, and found an insurance policy, taken out on her. She didn't waste any time running. She ran to her brother, and he in turn let her close friend, and colleague, Julia Evans, know where Sally was. Sally decided to go to Seattle and inform the insurance company about what was going on, and perhaps find out about the previous wives. Fortunately, Julia insists on going along.

What happens from this point on is so scary. The reason being is that this can, and does happen across America every day. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Ms. La Pierre has done a wonderful job in bringing you into the world of domestic violence. A world that most of us cannot comprehend, as we have not lived it. She has shown why a woman would not leave the situation, and stay to be hurt, physically, and/or mentally, and even perhaps killed.

Ms. La Pierre also shows that there is help for women caught up in this cycle of violence. But mostly she shows how important it is to have support, and help, from both family and friends. With this support, the cycle can be broken.

I cannot recommend this book too highly. It is one that has an awesome story, one that will keep you up all night reading it. You will not be able to put this book down even for a minute. The characters are so real. From greasy, egotistical, sick Jimmy, to Eva Lindsay, who has found the strength to help Sally, and perhaps find out what really happened to the first two wives.

Ms. La Pierre does an excellent job exploring what happens to abuse victims, both emotionally and physically. She has woven this very important subject into a gripping story that is both very spellbinding, and at the same time very educational. One that you just have to read.

My only problem with THE DEADLY THORN is the fact that Ms. Sullivan hasn't come up with a new book yet. So I will just have to wait until she does, because believe me I will not miss any book she writes. She is one awesome, talented, author.

"The Deadly Thorn" an "all nighter"
I could not put this book down. Just when I thought I was getting to a place where I could put this book down and get some sleep I found another episode of intrigue to keep me going. Take an arrogant short, greasy haired man and a group of beautiful women and you KNOW he has to have hidden charms. He murders his first two wives and his third wife has changed her name and moved to another state to get away from him. The slob, Jimmy, has successfully received hundreds of thousands of dollars from insurance policies on his first two wives. He has married the fourth time and after only a few months of marriage is planning to murder his 4th wife and of course, has a huge insurance policy on her. Wife number four and her best friend along with wife number three get in cohoots to outsmart Jimmy and there starts the tale. This is an action packed novel well worth reading. I'm going to read it again.

Dearest Mary Jane

Come into Mary Jane's Tearoom and feed your soul.
COVER: 'The moment I set eyes on a handsome, rich man I shall marry him, not much hope of that happening to you, darling.'
Felicity was the glamorous sister with a successful career as a model. Mary Jane was the stay-at-home with no talents to speak of and a face that never merited a second glance. So it was hardly surprising when Sir Thomas Latimer treated Mary Jane as no more than a future sister-in-law. If only she hadn't been fool enough to fall in love with him.....

Another of Betty Neels' wonderful ashes to happiness stories! This is a real favorite of mine. The heroine, Mary Jane Seymour, spent her young adult life caring for the elderly aunt and uncle who had taken her in when she was orphaned. Though a rather loveless arrangement, her hard work managing their home and nursing them both lovingly until her uncle's final passing had put that same uncle in the frame of mind to leave her a small cottage in the village. This was especially providential as her uncle's heir was a nasty piece of work with an appropriately nasty wife! Enter Dr. Thomas Latimer, who is intrigued by Mary Jane from first sight, though it takes him some time to get around to realizing that she is the treasure he has been waiting all his life to find. Mary Jane sweats a hand to mouth existence out of the tearoom she runs in the large main room of the cottage. She is kind to all old people and animals and the entire town loves her. Her haughty sister, selfish to her toenails, deliciously plays the evil witch! :) You will be entranced throughout the lovely story and will be sorry to see Thomas and Mary Jane finally figure it all out, for even though it is what you have been longing for - their great happiness means the end of your sharing their lives. We can only hope that they appear once again in another of Betty's books. This story will delight first time readers and will greatly satisfy and warm her loyal fans.
What a lovely lady Betty is... and what lovely ladies she paints for us.

Another wonderful book from my favorite romance book author.
Dearest Mary Jane is another wonderful book written by Betty Neels who is my favorite romance book author, I really enjoyed reading this book and liked the characters a guy named Thomas Latimer and a lady named Mary Jane Seymour and I really recommend it!

A slim, easy guide and worth it's price.

Wonderful book for people who are new to diabetes.
I work at Chronimed. Actually for Home Service Medical which is under the umbrella of Chronimed. We are a mail-order diabetic supply company and full service pharmacy. I started in November of 1997 and knew basically nothing about diabetes. This book helped me grasp what my patients are going through and helped me understand the disease and different types of diabetes. This is an excellent book for beginners who want to know about the disease in terms they will understand. This book is written perfectly for someone who doesn't know all the medical terms for the symptoms or treatments. It's a wonderful book!

Add Confidence to your Parenting!
This book is an excellent guide to Biblical teachings on discipline! You will learn God's plan for discipline of His children and how discipline of our own children should mirror it. This book will also help you understand the difference between discipline (training for correction and maturity administered in love and concern) and punishment (infliction of a penalty for an offense and past misdeeds usually administered in hostility and frustration) while providing plenty of tips on how to discipline using the six methods of correction.

This book gives you awesome tools and skills needed.
This book will change the way you look at your kids forever. It not only gives you biblical principals but gives you pratical ways to use them everyday. If you want to teach your children responsibility, trust, honor and more you need this book. You will have the tools and skills to raise your children in todays society after reading and studying this book.

Beautiful to look at, wonderful to taste, easy to create
This little book of appetizer recipes is written with flair. The author obviously had great fun writing the book, and, just as obviously, has great fun creating her recipes. A friend and I created seven of these tasty treats for an anniversary party - the recipes were easy to follow, and the appetizers turned out looking just as illustrated in the book. This would be an excellent addition to any cookbook collection.

Simple recipes, great appetizers, and a good read too
This is the perfect appetizer cookbook. Others I've tried to use are full of fussy, labor-intensive procedures that turn expensive ingredients into inedible but decorative cocktail 'snacks.' This one, by contrast, has simple, foolproof recipes for finger foods that look and taste great. The book itself is a charming little thing. The author prefaces her recipes with oddly entertaining notes ("Eggs flavored with olives are tasty, and with their vibrant black-and-yellow color combination, they look rather exciting as well") that make it readable as well as useful. I'm hooked on this one, and am giving it to everyone who lives far enough away that I won't be feeding them from it. THIS is where I give the author credit; at home, I'm keeping it for myself.

Great recipes just in time for the holidays
If you're looking for something wonderful and easy to prepare - this is the cook book for you! It also makes a great gift. I just bought seven of them to give as gifts! Perfect for the upcoming holidays! Betty Evans reminds one of M. K. Fisher - wonderful comments throughout the book.

One for me, and a few more for gifts, every time.
I'm unabashedly crazy about Betty Evans' cookbooks. They're easy to use, they make it easy to produce excellent meals with a minimum of fuss, and moreover, they make great gifts. We all know people who truly need a cookbook, but it can be a bit unsubtle to just thrust one upon them. Evans' books, though (and this is third in a series, with "Elegant Appetizers" and "Taste of America"), are such charming little volumes, so pretty, so entertainingly written and unpretentious, that nobody is ever other than delighted to receive one. Of course I use them, too; I'm an uncertain enough cook that I am always grateful for the straightforward direction she provides. Hey, all I ask is to be able to serve good food, simply prepared, and yet impress the hell out of everyone; is that so much? Fortunately for me, Evans' books deliver just that.

The Truth our physical bodies have forgotten
When I was 13 (I am 19) my mother read this book and said that she wasn't afraid to die after reading it. Since then I have read this book 3 times and have found it wonderful after each time I read it. My mother died whe I was 14 and this book has helped me to understand the reasons why we live and die and has helped me to have a relationship with God and our Saviour in my everyday life. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever wondered the big "Why" of life and struggle. Betty speaks of the truth that we have all forgotten.

Embraced by the light was, and still is a life altering book
This book has shaped the way I live my life even today 5 years later. It took away my fear of dying and gave me hope, and it continues to guide me and make me aware of how I treat other people. and for anyone who has lost a loved one it will surely bring a since of peace.unforgetable!!
