A New Friend for your bookshelf
I would reccommend this book for anyone in their 20's or 30's especially, anyone who has ever felt alone, anyone who has ever almost wanted their parents to catch them doing something they shouldn't - just so they could talk, and anyone who has ever asked "does God even care that I exist?"
Betty Smartt Carter has my respect and admiration for sharing so courgeously! This book deserves to be read! I wish I was rich enough to stand on a street corner and give copies away! Don't miss it.

I can't say enough
This is a book that I would recommend to just about anyone. Not only is Betty Carter down-to-earth, she is incredibly funny! I don't normally laugh out loud while reading, but several times I found myself shaking in my chair trying to contain my laughter.

Her honest account of her own struggles proves that there is hope for all of us.

A very cute and endearing tale of friendship!
The illustrations were what drew me to this book. They were very colorful and eye-catching. The story kept me entertained from cover to cover. I laughed and enjoyed this story of a kind-hearted dog (Joe) and his new friend, the one-legged seagull (Hoppy). Very cute!

I think it was funny, warm, and one I will always treasure.
The characters were funny and inventive. It is pleasurable to read something written with talent. I think the author loves words very much. The book is almost poetry. The art is full of color and movement.

Wonderful resource book for trail riders!
This book is a must have for trail riding in Oklahoma. I have lived here most of my life and was surprised at how many horse riding areas I was not aware of. The author gives excellent directions into camps as well as crital info on parking, tying, facilities, and requirements. The trail descriptions are well written and accurate. Some trails have seen improvement since the publishing date so it's a good idea to call the contact numbers for updates. Highly recommened!

Complete Oklahoma Horse Trail Guide
We found this book to be very helpful. Not only does it list many horse trails, it gives information about services available at the camp grounds and directions to the camp of your choice.

entertaining for the whole family
We have found this book to be greatly entertaining for the whole family. Adults as well as kids will enjoy Sam and Pete and the moral to the story can be applied to many other situations for children to understand.

My favorite childhood book
This book was one of the most dearest and entertaining books of my early childhood. Why it is no longer in print is inconceivable to me. It is a story about two chameleon lizards, Pete and Sam. Sam believes he is "better" than Pete, so Sam sets out to prove just that by trying to show Pete that he can run faster or catch more flies, etc., and all the while, Pete patiently shows Sam that he can do the same things. Eventually, Sam tries to sit on a colored magazine and turn all the colors of the page; Pete conceeds that he cannot perform that task, so he sits back and watches Sam try, in vain, to do it. Defeated, Sam learns his lesson. The illustrations of their facial expressions are adorable and are forever etched in my memory. It was such a wonderful bedtime story.

A Wonderful Book
I first found this book (an earlier edition)on my mother-in-law's nightstand after she died, and loved reading it. I have since rediscovered it and have already ordered 11 copies to read and give to my friends. I'm ordering another 5 to give to more friends.

The book has a wonderful way of helping you look at everyday events, and see the blessings in everything. It reminds us that we can always go to God - whether the need is great or small, or just to praise him for our blessings.

This book was a comfort to me after the loss of mother.
I lost my dearest friend, my mother, in 1966. She died suddenly and I was totally grief-stricken. I found I was unable to grieve in the proper way.
At the time of the funeral, my Pastor's wife gave me this book for comfort. Little did she know how she helped me.

The section entitled, "The New Dimension" became the prayers I prayed both for me and my mother.
When I read "The Message", I smiled through my tears, It was as if she knew my mother and had been in her house! She wrote such wonderful memories.
The second paragraph reminded me that my mother too, was ready to go Home, just as if she was ready to go to church on Sunday.
"The Lesson of Loss" reminded me that there were those who were ready to comfort me if I would let them. My grief became easier
to bear and my tears started me on the healing process.
"Be Still and Know" helped me realize that my mother was healed now and no longer suffering.
And "The New Dimension of Love" thrilled me in knowing that I would see mother again in heaven.

I am now a Pastor's wife and I have tried to find this book to give to several of our congregation who have suffered loss.
I triumphed over my grief with the simple prayers and passages in this book. I want to share it with anyone who has suffered a loss, especially of a mother.
Thank you, Marjorie Holmes, for giving me strength.

Who would have thought !?!
I never thought these recipes could be so good or possible in the Kosher home !
I like the detail of the countries' cultural and historical references pertaining to the dishes as well.

This book would be handy even in a non-Kosher home for all the recipes it spans over the world !

It it very well organized and easy to follow , as are her previous books.

A must in every Kosher and maybe non-Kosher kitchen.

Great, unusual recipes from many countries for Kosher cooks
I love this book because it is often hard to find Kosher recipes for traditional dishes from other countries. This book has recipes from around the world and is easy to read and follow. The book includes recipes from Europe, The Middle East, Asia & the Pacific Islands, and The Americas. This cookbook also inclues adaptations, rich historical and cultural information in addition to many well known favorite recipes from each country. This is an indispensable cookbook addition to EVERY Kosher home. This is one of my favorite cookbooks! Even if I didn't want to cook Kosher, I would have this cookbook because it is such an extensive collection of recipes from around the world all in one book.

Like a second bible.
The very first written testimony about an encouter between human beings and alien civilisation can be found in the bible (the anciant testament is very rich in details if read and interpreted in a logical way and not in the "spriritual-traditional" way). The second written testimony, and the last one so far, is the "interrupted journey". The "interrupted journey" is according to me much more than a book. It's a real testimony which goes beyond the common question "do you believe in UFO", because a UFO is "just" an unidentified object and it doesn't say much. In the Betty and Barney Hill's case, it goes far beyond the "simple" unidentified flying object. There is a real encouter and a conversation between a human being and a civilisation which is obviously NOT from our world, which is obviously NOT from our planet. And it means A LOT. During her conversation with the alien crew "boss",she was told while she was staring at the map, that some planets (or stars) where regularly, frequently or occasionaly visited by them. It also seems that commercial exchanges between alien civilisations themselves are quite common. How about us, habitants of the planet earth, what do we represent for those civilisations? I haven't heard so far that we're making trade with extra-terrestrials. But it doesn't mean that they have no interest in our planet. We could even easily suppose that alien civilisations have visited us thousands of times and not only during this century but for many, many centuries.........and probably more. In conclusion, if we admitt that our planet have been visited for ages by aliens like the ones of "the interrupted journey", then we may ask ourselves "In which ways the alien intervention in the history of the Manhood has influenced our believes and in which way the alien intervention will influence the future of the Mankind".

I want to read a review of this book. Help!
I'd like to read a review of this book but can't seem to find one. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

A Journey of Love

"And the Greatest of these is Love..."
The "Quiet Room" is a hard place to be after 33 years of marriage, but that is just the first step, the first instant of a heart being broken and everything inside you screaming out for mercy, for peace, for your loved one. The author takes you from those first days of agony through the weeks of grief and finally hope. The book is not simply a tool for learning to lean on God in times of heartache and sorrow, but is also a wonderful celebration of marriage, of love (Betty Jo's and Daniel's, and God's), and a celebration of life. You don't necessarily have to have lost someone to empathize with the author, you just have to have loved...

Healing words to comfort a grief-stricken heart
A Journey of Love is a beautifully written story of the grief one experiences at the loss of a loved one. From the moment the author described her walk to the "quiet" room, I was captivated by the book's warmth and true depiction of eternal love. The healing hands of our Father is described so eloquently all who enter the quiet pages of this book will undoubtedly be reminded of the wondrous strength of our loving Savior! This author did a splendid job! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone in the throes of grief or in need of a gentle reminder of the healing power our Heavenly Father has for His children.

*THE* Book To Have For Scottie Lovers
I've hunted for this book forever! I came across it finally at a dog show in Scotland last year. This is *the* book for you if you're a scottie lover. Miss Penn-Bull has done a wonderful job with this book.

A must-read by the doyenne of Scottish Terriers.
If you get just one book on Scottish Terriers, get this one! Betty Penn-Bull's masterwork on the breed is unrivalled, not only in the scope and quality of information, but in the wonderfully engaging prose and many fine photographs of history's finest Scottish Terriers. Of particular interest to the fancier are the excellent chapters on breeding and building championship stock. No serious student of the breed should be without this book.
