Good Morning Sunshine by Betty Ann Schwartz
We read this book to our baby constantly. It had such a pretty rhythm to it. Also the story mirrored my loving feeling toward my new baby. As he got older he loved the feeling of a chunky book. He carried it around all the time. It spurred his love for books today. It finally just fell apart due our constant use. My baby is ten years old now and I would love to replace our copy. I still quote one of the lines from the book most every morning.

Sorority Classic
This non-fiction book about the history of Alpha Phi as through the eyes of Betty is a gem. Whether or not you are an Alpha Phi, you will enjoy this historical perspective of sorority life from Betty's college days of the 40's to her volunteer positions through the declining 70's and boutiful 80's. She has a sense of humor and is a great storyteller. I have met Betty and as I read this book I can hear her down home accent crafting stories of her wonderful memories of Alpha Phi. A must for anyone interested in Greek Life history.

I enjoyed this book, and have used it in small groups with others in church. Great feedback from others about usefulness in helping persons our age (50's) spiritually grow and find new meaning and purpose in life as we age.

Very Informative.
Being a descendant of Robert Lucas I was very pleased to find a book about him and his family history. The book has tons of interesting information but is sometimes hard to read. Overall, the book is well worth the money especially if your interested in tracing the Lucas family back to the 1500's.

A must if you teach or have been in a classroom.
This book, like the Junior Kroll books before it, is genius. As a teacher, when I read the characters, I know have met them all. The text humorously introduces that wide range of personalities one meets in a classroom, with all the quirks and talents and incomplete issues young kids come to us possessing. Even the teacher with her tight grey curls is a wonderful distillation of America in a classroom. As for the Horn review sighted here, it is not a room set in south Central LA, where I have taught, but no less does it speak to children. I took this into my classroom of first graders and it was a hit. The illustrations are so wonderful ,so well trained and excellent the kids started to draw. I really encourage using the book with children.

THE NANTUCKET BOOK is one good read! There are well-researched chapters on the Island's history, and culture. Did you know that Nantucket has more toally preserved buildings in the National Register of Historic Places than Boston, Salem, or Plymouth? And that it was a refuge for escaping slaves and free blacks after slavery on the island was abolished in 1770? The book is also chucked full of lodging, eating, shopping, environmental, and recreational information. I used it to plan my summer vacation. But its a great read for armchair travelers too.
