There are many obvious lessons to be learned here. Anyone who thinks they are interested in the school system, or alternatives, should look this over. It could help you out quite a bit.

In this book a girl has trouble dealing/competing with her mother, because her mom is more like a big kid(she is irresponsible and pretends to be her daughters best friend) than a parent. The day comes when she just has to get away from her mother, so she transfers to a school in Boston, finds a boy friend, and comes to terms with her jealousy of her mother.

I bought all 3 Amanda Series Paper Dolls & they are wonderful. I felt like I was with Amanda on her journey to the west and through time. She describes the clothes they wore, the foods they ate, the hardships they faced. I was at her wedding to Matthew & when the children were born. I felt what life was like on the Texas frontier & her pain when Matthew had to serve in Civil War. I hope that Betty Mills does a series on Amanda's granddaughter, Mary Megan.

Wonderful illustrations! This is an excellent way for girls to learn Texas History.

this book was a great help to me while I was writing a report on influential first ladies. The author includes interesting facts and much more detail on the first lady's lives than the average book on first ladies. The book includes the first ladies personal insights and what they were interested in - politics, education, etc. It really shows how some first ladies played the presidential role more than the president of the time did. I recommend this book, especially if you are writing a report on a specific first lady included in the book, all the first ladies, and especically the influential first ladies.

I picked this book up when I was looking for a good French toast recipie and I was pleasanly surprised at how great this book is! It's a classic! The idea of this book is to take classic American favorites and put a different spin on them. I just know that every recipie in this easy-to-use book is better than the next. The author has the usual catagories for soups, appetizers, fish, meats, etc., but the tidbits of helpful info on the borders of each recipie are great. Each recipie comes with menu suggestions, as well, which is really helpful. I can't think of a single person I know who can't use this terrific book. Buy one for a cook you love!

A wonderful book. I've made several dishes and get compliments as well as request for the recipes. They are easy and low-fat-- A must for me! I can't think what I would do without it.
