Think carefully about something!
three books...one that is only "index"
of the Names in the book's....which is a good thing.....
One is on the Durbin's and the next is half of the Logsdon.
The Images from the photographs displayed are very pore:
And are the images of map's ect..
I have found that some of the photo's have mixt info....and
no infomation about them!
Did not carefully put it together......
There is however a lot of infomation in which i believe;
was year's of study.
There are other people who gave information of there line.
to put in this book.
Perhaps if one is looking for his or here line........ they may fine it here....

Anything on Betty Grable...
I collect Grable memorabilia which is why I bought this book. A rather depressing book of poetry - can't say I would recommend buying the book.

Emma's Wedding
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (May, 2002)
Author: Betty Neels
Amazon base price: $3.99
Average review score:

A pleasant story.
Back Cover description: A business proposal'or more? Meeting Dr. Roele van Dyke was a blessing for Emma Dawson. He always seemed to go out of his way to make her happy, and she couldn't imagine life without him'.
And when the time came for Roele to return to Amsterdam permanently, he knew he couldn't leave Emma behind. So he offered her a job at his surgery. Emma was in love and simply couldn't refuse. But did Roele want Emma to be his secretary or his wife?

A nice, pleasant Betty Neels story. Emma is not a nurse; she is taking care of her whiny, selfish mother. The mother is almost too much to take, but thankfully she is gone by the halfway point. Emma has no skills, so it is not easy for her to get jobs she can make money at. Roele is in love with her by page 72. The rest of the book follows along the same route that Ms. Neels always uses, but hey'it's why I read these

a very basic explanation of operational planning
The ideas this book covers are still valid in 2001, but it is quite basic compared to today's "state of art" knowledge. Still, most of the idea's of measuring, made "famous" by The Balanced Scorecard, where already present in this book. It includes criteria for writing objectives and detailed action plans and mentions key reult areas and measurement. This probably explains why many other books refer to this work. If the book was repackaged as a "10 minute guide to opearional planning, and was priced accordingly, I'd still recommend it. Today, price/quality are out of balance.

The Films of Olivia De Havilland
Published in Paperback by Lyle Stuart (April, 1986)
Authors: Tony Thomas and Betty Davis
Amazon base price: $9.95
Average review score:

Fairly accurate Bio. of Miss deHavillands life and work
Tony Thomas died in July 1997,just a few days after Olivia deHavilland's 81st.birthday. His work here is,for the most part, the most accurate, and least opinionated,of all the deHavilland Film/Bio-Graphies to date, and his writing on this subject is quoted liberally (Mistakes and all!),in at least one multi-volumed film guide. The introduction by the late Bette Davis is a sincerely kind, and profoundly positive tribute, that can be considered more insightful about Miss deHavilland's personal character, than much else that's written in the book. This book served for me as a starting point for my own research into Olivia deHavilland's work, and on more than one occasion I have found myself being confused, and amused,by viewing one of her films for the first time, and discovering that it didn't quite go the way I had read about it! I discovered (Also from my own research),that he was sometimes short on facts, and slighly over romantic on some points of the deHavilland family history, especially the family of Sir Geoffrey deHavilland (Find out more on him in his autobiography "Sky Fever",and hopefully in Olivia's new autobiography to be released... someday),who was Olivia's uncle ,and who was famous for founding his own British aircraft company. Overall,a good book for it's time, but hopefully, better is yet to come!

First Ladies

List price: $16.95 (that's 30% off!)

A concise cultural history of our First Ladies
Betty Boyd Caroli has written a concise cultural history of our First Ladies. But her observations on how each era shaped the next was only mildly insigthful if not predictable hindsight.

I was disappointed there was less information about our early first ladies than there was on our more recent ones. Either some of our first ladies did not leave complete records or Coroli simply felt the more recent ones deserved more attention.

Overall, First Ladies is 80% hard research and 20% gossip of the day which will keep you turning the pages. And if you like, chapters can be read as separate essays. I found this a good book to leave out in guestroom or bathroom!

Getting Rid of Katherine
This is a good book for any early middle school student. The morals are taught loud and clear. Don't judge other people before you get to know them. And don't do something you might regret later. This book could have been a little better with the moral even though it already was said loud and clear.

One of her better books
I liked this book because there was more dialogue between the main characters. Sometimes Betty gets bogged down in all the details of explaining about meals, houses, and fashion. I have a hard time reading those books, but when I find ones like this I get hooked. Rose was not the uncommunicative, retiring, over- educated-but-not-trained-to-do-anything type of girl. She was a nurse, as most of Betty's heroines are, who met her "intended" on a vacation in Holland with her friends. She "specials" a case for the doctor-the patient is his nephew-and ends up in Holland and falling in love with him. Like most of Betty's books the "happy ending" is done in only one and a half pages but is not concluded as abruptly as her other books tend to end.

The Great Male Conspiracy

Betty Bates tells the "conspiracy" of the male species
Betty Bates tells a story of Maggie, whose sister marries a "great" guy. Well, he doesn't turn out to be so great. After leaving the sister of Maggie, Maggie decides all men are horrible, and are only out to hurt women. She basically cuts of ties with men and hangs around with her sister, neglecting her friends as well. After it's all over, Maggie learns not all men are the same, and that it totally depends on the person. Betty did an excellent job of portraying this, though the book moves rather slowly, and is more for a younger audience, say about 10 to 14 years old.
