Student-Centered learning is right on target
This book was very interesting, informative, and educational. Moffett and Wagner have done an excellent job of giving instructional strategies appropriate to every age group from K-12. Moffett is a visionary whose ideas were ahead of his time. The authors begin by giving a step by step guide to setting up a classroom geared toward student centered learning. The book has three sections, orientation, basic processes, and kinds of discourse. The orientation portion helps the reader to become familiar with student centered learning. The basic processes give different methods of engaging students in activities where they are the center and not the teacher. The book linked reading, spelling, and writing. Moffett and Wagner believe that reading, spelling, listening, and thinking are major determinants to learning to communicating effectively. The section kinds of discourse give innumerable ideas on facilitating the effective use of language arts throughout the curriculum. I would suggest this book for anyone looking to enhance instruction for their students in the classroom or children at home.

Opening Your Soul
An unbelievable journey that shows courage, an innate ability to survive, and a strength of character we all wish we could emulate. I know Surviving Madness was written with tears, because I shed them in so many parts of her story.

Once I started reading the book I didn't stop till I had finished. What greater review can you give....

An invaluable guide to utilizing paraeducators
Paraeducator is a term covering teacher aides, teaching assistants, and instructional assists. These play an increasingly important role in classroom instruction. A Teacher's Guide To Working With Paraeducators And Other Classroom Aides is an invaluable guide to utilizing paraeducators and provides the classroom instructor with information on establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with their aids and assistants, including the assignment of responsibilities, communication, monitor the quality of work, provision of on-the-job training, and the creation of a feedback loop. The text is enhanced with tops from practicing teachers explaining ways to find the time to effectively supervise paraeducators, how the supervisory techniques involved with paraeducators are similar to (and differ from) those that teachers use with students. A Teacher's Guide To Working With Paraeducators And Other Classroom Aides is an effective, indispensable, and highly recommended reference and resource for the teacher wanting to create a successful and effective instructional classroom team.

Things I Have To Tell You Comments
The book Things I Have To Tell You was an exciting book for me. Its about a girls lives today and how they deal with them. They expressed themselves and showed there view points and life with the world by writing poetry. The poems were different than any other poetry book. They had live stories and told truth, they did not hold back on any information. These girls i think have wrote outstanding poems and i hope they keep doing so and making more books like this one.
I loved this book. I thought it inspired me and made me think a lot. I could not put the book down. I read the whole thing i even took it to lunch one day in school just to finish it. The poems were like my own life it made sence because they are everyday things that happen. Like teenages get pressured with and deal with. Love, Hate, Beauty, Friends, and Family all take place in this book and take place in an everyday lifestyle. Well at least mine and my friends lives. Im so glad i read this book because it has helped me with my own life.
I reconmend this book to teenagers mostly! Girls i think would be a lot more interested in this book but if guys want to know about girls and find problems maybe they have then they should read it too. I suggest every teenager reads this outstanding book. So check into this book i promise you, you will not regret reading it. Thanks for reading this.

Tim McGraw: A Mother's Story

A story of inspiration, courage and determination!
This Startling autobiography by country music superstar Tim McGraw's mother, Betty "McMom" Trimble reveals her ultimate triumph over a life of astonishing pain and hardship. Illegitimate teenage pregnancy. A husband who beat her to unconsciousness. Extreme poverty. Life-threatening cancer. And the sexual molestation of her daughter. A chain of challenges that could have defeated anyone. But Betty would not give up. With each new hurdle she summoned the strength to survive. Tim McGraw A Mother's Story begins with 11-year-old Tim's accidental discovery that his real father is baseball great Tug McGraw. In a heart wrenching passage, Betty "McMom" Trimble describes her young son's struggle to come to terms with an onslaught of painful truths: that the man who Tim thought was his father for 11 years was not; that Tim's real father was a wealthy and famous athlete whom he idolized and whose baseball card was taped to his bedroom wall; and that that same famous celebrity, baseball great, Tug McGraw, had chosen a life without him. Trimble recounts her fateful encounter with McGraw in 1966, then a minor league pitcher with the Jacksonville Suns. When she became pregnant after her first and only sexual encounter, McGraw chose a baseball career over Trimble and their son. Betty chose motherhood over her plans for college and a career as a dancer. Tim never saw his father until he asked for a meeting following his discovery of the truth. "Tug's treatment of Tim broke my heart," said Trimble. "But Tim has always been a survivor. Instead of becoming angry, the experience made him stronger and more compassionate." His father's rejection was but one of many hardships endured by Tim and his family. Trimble recounts her struggle to survive extreme poverty and protect Tim from the abuse she suffered at the hands of her first husband, a truck driver in rual Louisiana. In simple, moving prose Trimble documents a bleak existence for her family. One painful episode after another unfolds, leading up to Trimble's diagnosis of life-threatening cancer at the age of 27. Ironically, the desease saved her life. After a successful operation, she determined to make a better life for herself and her family. Trimble left her abusive husband, completed her education, became a bookkeeper and bought a house--all while raising three exceptional children. The family still lived hand-to-mouth, never receiving any money from Tim's increasingly famous and wealthy father. And more hardships followed, including the sexual molestation of her daughter by her second husband. But Trimble's spirit would not be crushed. "I hope others can learn from my experience," Trimble said. "No one should have to endure the kind of pain I lived through." Betty Trimble is affectionately known as "McMom" by a growing circle of fans and admirers. She recently saw history reverse it's self. As a young dancer, Betty received an audition for Dick Clark's Action Dancers in 1967. Her audition date found her well into her pregnancy with her son, and not able to attend. Hearing about Betty's story, the ever young Dick Clark, feeling "your never too old" chose to present to Betty during an appearance on the Leeza Show, a contract, some 30 years after she had made the extreme sacrifice of giving up her career for her unborn son; a choice his father refused to make. This story will make you laugh, cry, and most of all moved to take action on what ever you maybe facing. Trimble's unshakable faith in herself, God and the decency of others gave her strength. That victorious spirit was passed along to Tim McGraw, who has guided his career to the top of the country charts

To Alaska on a Tractor
Very inspirational. In todays world it is very rare to come across people that are so committed to a cause that they go to such an extreme to tell the world. On the back of the book it says, " They inspired us as living examples of the challenge and joy following the Spirit's nudging." I found this quite true!!
Pass the word, tell your friends! Excellent for gift giving.
