Comprehensive coverage.
The book title tells the story: all the wings, medals, ribbons, and badges, from World War II to today, illustrated and explained in this comprehensive guide to the insignia of the U.S. Air Force and its predecessor organizations.
The award criteria are all thoroughly covered, with supplementary information on the evolution of wings, rank insignia, and other heretofore confusing matters. Additional advice is given on wearing, display, and post-service application for medals by veterans, retirees, and families. The coverage is complete and this work will be an excellent resource for veterans, military history buffs, and collectors alike.

From the Critics
"The Mediterranean Runs Through Brooklyn contains a series of portraits: "My Mother," "My Father," "My Sister," "My Aunts" and others. Valerio writes with a rich style, and has an unusually good eye for detail. The situations happen in Brooklyn in the life of an Italian-American family, and sometimes in Italy. The book has zest, high humor, madness, detached reflection, and pathos."

superb story & recipes covering peasant foods of Gascony
Pierre loved his childhood and the people in it. His story is simply told but resonates with love and admiration for his Grandparents from whom it seems he learnt the truths of life, good food & good friends are among the most important things to have in one's life. This book will remain a treasure for years to come.

The recipes may be more than a home cook wishes to tackle but if ever you are gifted with foie gras or a pheasant this book will inspire you to work wonders with these ingredients.

Excellent biographical sketches & stories told with insight
Anthony Dyer, the last President of the East African Professional Hunters' Association, brings together some of the most compelling lives in the history of eastern Africa. The book contains an astonishing wealth of photographs from the turn of the century to the present day. The focus is primarily on those brave and independent spirits who, drawn by its wild majesty, chose to make early Africa their home. Not forgotten are the women who came to Africa; the wives and daughters who knew all the joys and sorrows of life in a brutal, yet beautiful, land. Dyer brings to life the romantics, the pragmatists, the rascals, and the intellectuals. Highly recommended!

Meta-Physics New Dimensions of the Mind
Anthony Norvell taps into the power of thought. This book explains the miracle power we posses to transform, materialize and realize our thoughts in our every day lives. He explains Astral Projection and the techniques of Premonision and how they can influence our forever now.Today this book is still state of the art. Tremendous thoughts have been illustrated as possible for each of us even in the fast paced 2000's. Through the examples of Carnegie, Hearst, Rockefeller,Onassis and The Divine Power of Jesus Christ, Norvell enlightens the reader of the power of invisible forces in which we all have the ability to tap into. We need the desire to be disciplined and dedicated to these techniques which will help the reader externalize the things you hold within the spiritual center of your being. Norvell breaks down the hypotheses in very simple explanations and keeps the book moving in one easy read. This book is a fitness book for the mind. Read it and acheive the miracle power of dynamic concentration. Although, written in 1967 I still value this book as an inspirational book for the forever now.

Mighty Eighth War Manual
Published in Hardcover by Motorbooks International (February, 1991)
Authors: Roger Anthony Freeman and Norman Ottaway
Amazon base price: $39.95
Used price: $39.60
Average review score:

Easy read. A must for military history buffs
The Eighth Air Force is a milestone to development of air power. Here are the details on how the Mighty Eighth became the unrelenting force against Nazi Germany. Mistakes were made. But the leaders of the eighth learned from them and overcame the obstacles. Here in the War Manual is how it was done.

Details are many. Historians, roleplayers and reenactors can read about the planning before a mission. You can read about the tactics used by 8th AF bombers in 1942, then later in 43, 44 and 1945. How they evolved from a lose squadron formation to 1,000 bomber combat boxes escorted by 700 to 800 fighters. Diagrams are included. Even the Summer 1944 radio callsigns for 8th AF Squadrons are listed.

The Equipment list is staggering! Not only familar aircraft such as the B-17, B-24, and the P-51 are listed, but also comparatively unfamiliar types in US inventory like the Lysander and the Lockheed Hudson. Gunsights, bombsights, radars, radios, flight suits, machine guns. It's all here!!
5 stars aren't enough.
