discusses an interesting subject
The book is a survey covering the Egyptian feast lists from the Old Kingdom to the Saite epoch. After a brief, easy-to-understand introduction of feast names, the author describes in five chapters those found from the Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom, Post-Imperial Era (lasting from the Third Intermediate Period to the Saite Period), from the First Intermediate Period to the Middle Kingdom, and finally the Old Kingdom. Recommended, it is an interesting and comprehensive book dealing with a subject rarely touched upon.

This novel was an amazing insite to the myths in our dreams. I found it flowing and gripping to place the myths in your own real life situations. Excellent work once again Stevens!

The Problems With the Prayers of the Modern Mass

The New Mass compared with the traditional Latin Mass
The New Mass or "Novus Ordo Missae", promulgated by Pope Paul VI, differs from the Mass celebrated in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church so greatly that it could not escape the notice of anyone who bothers to study the two side-by-side. That is exactly what Father Cekada has done. Even in the original Latin "editio typica" text --- let alone the paraphrases that pass for "translations" into English and other languages --- it is evident that sacrifice and man's sinfulness in the face of Almighty God are de-emphasized in favor of a vague humanism. The new liturgy fails to capture the heart and imagination of anyone who has a traditional understanding of the Faith, and Father Cekada handsomely brings this out. This little book is well worth reading.

Quantum Mechanics and the Particles of Nature : An Outline for Mathematicians
Published in Paperback by Cambridge Univ Pr (Pap Txt) (December, 1986)
Author: Anthony Sudbery
Amazon base price: $89.95
Average review score:

Quickie introduction to the frontiers of QM
Anthony Sudbery succeeds in taking the reader with some graduate level education in mathematics to the frontiers of QM circa. 1980s. In taking you there, he leads you through all the fundamentals, the Schrodinger, Feynman, Dyson, and Diract formulations of QM. He is obviously biased to using Dirac's notations, and rightfully so. There are several problems at the end of each chapter for the more adventurous. The book is certainly a good introduction to those with a strong physics background as well. Everything considered, an execellent book that can be kept in one of the lower shelves for quick access at your workplace or home.

An Introduction to Quantum Mechanics
This volume, part of the MIT Introductory Series, is appropriate for the advanced undergraduate in physics or the graduate student changing majors from engineering to physics, as a prerequisite to taking a graduate Quantum Mechanics course at the level of Cohen-Tanoudji. Presupposing a solid foundation in partial differential equations and boundary value problems as well as dynamics and electrodynamics, the authors develop quantum theory in a logical manner and in a very readable style. The text is full of examples that reinforce the material throughout. Moreover, there are abundant illustrations to aid in grasping trends in analyzing wave functions and probability densities. The artful introduction of the Dirac notation, formalism, quantum states and state vectors is accomplished using photons and polarization. Although not intended as a core graduate student level text for Quantum Mechanics, the volume integrates its scope with more advanced topics including the WKB method and perturbation theory. Included are problem sets at the end of each chapter that reinforce the presented materials. This text is an excellent bridge between basic undergraduate quantum mechanics and graduate quantum mechanics.

Beautiful and Real
R.S. Thomas succeeds in capturing bits of his homeland, Wales, in his poetry. From the verses on Welsh peasants to the reflections on the spiritual nature of the universe, he completely captured my attention. His poetry is like Wales itself - beautiful, rugged, and deeply moving at all times. I turn to his poems to relax, to find peace, to enjoy myself, and to seek God. His poem, "The Bright Field" is one of those things that I hold dear in my life. While this collection does have a good selection of his poetry, it does not have all of his good stuff - its too thin. But its really the only thing in print that one can find by him. So I highly recommend purchasing this book to get a taste of a poet who truly knows how to craft words. He should not have been passed up for the Noble Prize when he was nominated for it.

Read it! You won't regret it
If you are at all aware of any of the major financial transactions that occured throught the 'crazy money' days of the eighties, you will spend a lot of the time reading the book saying to yourself 'So Jeff Beck was involved in that too!' A good mix between the cut throat world of stocks 'n shares, and one man's personal dreams and fears Definitely worth reading. If anyone wants a copy I may part with mine, but it took me a very long time to find it, so only worthwhile offers please

Reflections on Spatial Use
I highly recommend this comprehensive collection of essays on space. The essays vary with regard to subject, which is perhaps the book's greatest strength. Its authors present spatial analyses which can be applied by anyone interested in the study of space and the examination of place.

Real Life Experience Makes this Book Make Sense
I first read this book as part of a class for my Master's degree in Health Care Admin.

At the time the book seemed to vary between common sense information and esoteric information. However, the more time I spend working in the real world, the more this book makes sense.

I now rely on this book for some important decisions, such as which job to take. While the book still seems to have some short-fallings, it may make even more sense to me as I am in the real world longer.

I suggest this book for both those in school and those working. While I did not get as much out of the book while I was in school, it still provided some basic schemas from which I work now. I also had much more time in school to read this than now.
