Literary and culinary delights
This is a great book both as a simple cookbook (best oxtail soup recipe I've found) and just for fun. It takes the dishes mentioned in ULYSSES and gives recipes as well as putting them in the context of the book. Most of the recipes are period; no microwaves here. But I'm no great cook, and I've found that I can do just fine with most of the recipes, though many are too time-consuming for everyday use. But for special occasions, the recipes are wonderful to actually use and the rest of the time the book provides a historical reference and insight into Joyce's masterpiece.

Phenomenal Introduction to Jung
This is probably the best introduction to Jung on the market. It is simple, concise, and VERY reader-friendly. It is very current as well including a short introduction to all the major aspects of his work and life. I can't recommend this one highly enough!

A Must to Own
This is the most comprehensive book on the Kachina to date. This book is the only one where the illustrator has depicted not only the front of the figure, but also the back and this makes this book a must to own for anyone who studies the Kachina or who is an artist and wants to be completely accurate in the depiction of the figure. The figures are historically and spiritually exact and are certainly meant as a tribute to the figure as a revered being.Truly a fine publication and well worth the cost.

an affirmation of marriage
An editorial review mentioned that this is a story about the near-destruction of a marriage. I see it, rather, as the affirmation of true marriage. Both the hero and heroine--having been misled about the character of previous betrothal connections must overcome feelings of distrust and personal pride to come to a true understanding . . . Trollope uses this novel to show that honesty and integrity are not just virtues; they are essentials. In a time when so many best-sellers end in divorce, Trollope's characters come to the end of this short novel stronger and more true--and still married. And those who are untrue are exposed along the way.

A great way to increase typing speed!
I teach typing at a middle school and we recently started using this program. My students and I found it to be a great change from the standard drills we were using. They loved the way the programs made them practice the keys that gave them the most trouble and the fact that, in the individualized practices, the program would push them to try typing a little faster in the repetitions. I liked it so much, I bought a copy for my machine at home. My whole family is working with it to increase their typing skills. I highly recommend this program.

Helpful, informative, and most of all, FUN!
This book about traveling in Spain masks itself as a children's book, but, in reality, it has been a Godsend to adults as well. Ms. Biggs' style is informal, fun, yet highly informative; it will get you where you want to go as well as to more off-the-beaten-track surprises. The drawings are charming, and children, as well as adults, would be well-advised to take this little compendium with them to Spain. Too bad it is out of print. Muir press should reconsider.

Reclaiming Kierkegaard from the "irrational."
It is easy to misunderstand such a subtle philosopher as Kierkegaard. From his cryptic style and pseudonymns creeps a message heavily veiled, and best understood by a select view. Both "existentialism" and "irrational" become easily misused buzz words far too often applied to Kierkegaard. This book argues that such has been the case with Alasdair MacIntyre in his book AFTER VIRTUE. Fortunately, those who seem most on the mark in their interpretations of Kierkegaard have been gathered here in this collection of essays defending Kierkegaard against MacIntyre's claims that Kierkegaard is an irrational fedeist. KIERKEGAARD AFTER MACINTYRE is a brilliant and responsible exposition of the depths and intricacies of "the father of existentialism" by, whom I believe to be, the most "well-versed" Kierkegaardian scholars. Most helpful in this book was the light it shed on the influence both Kant and Artistotle had on Kierkegaard's conception of the self and decision-making, and the importance of understanding what are Kierekgaard's thoughts through all the pseudonymity...especially when it comes to his writings on the Judge and the Aesthete in Either/Or.
The book is highly enjoyable with concise essays that make their points while citing the various passages of Kierkegaard. One can easily check their refences if one is skeptical of the context. And what I enjoyed most was the fairness of the book. MacIntyre himself ends the collection of essays, and has the last words in response to the book's claims that he has radically misunderstood Kierkegaard. A good read and a definite must for anyone who wants to stay on top of the issues at hand in Kierkegaardian scholarship.
Kierkegaard and the Limits of the Ethical

The best book on Kierkegaard that I have read
During my academic studies I managed to read between 50 and 75 books on Kierkegaard, and along with Louis Mackey's KIERKEGAARD: A KIND OF POET, this was the most illuminating that I encountered. This is a clear and penetrating study of both Kierkegaard's own work and the way that it can be used to address current issues in moral philosophy. Should be on the short list of essential books for any aspiring student of Kierkegaard.

Great book.
This book was great, although it didn't tell about the quest for the holy grail. The whole book is full of action.
