Rich Compendium of Modern Jewish Poetry
Another view of Jewishness is seen in this rich compendium of evocative Jewish poetry by modern masters of the craft as each page unfolds its richness of language with its own beauty and revealing emotional intensity. THE VOICES WITHIN THE ARK is edited by Howard Schwartz and Anthony Rudoph. It includes poets of the American scene and across the world as well. The general introduction provides a very necessary key to the enjoyment of this collection. END

For social workers and for foster parents
The collaboration of experienced social workers Judith Lee and Danielle Nisivoccia, Walk A Mile In My Shoes: A Book About Biological Parents For Foster Parents And Social Workers is a powerful, meaningful, 85-page treatise on understanding the feelings of biological parents and their children when children must be transferred to foster care. A "user friendly" guidebook to easing the transition and helping all parties understand one another better, Walk A Mile In My Shoes is highly recommended both for social workers and for foster parents engaged in a necessary, difficult and sometimes painful process.

A mother's view of how a book can inspire a life.
This book is wonderful for 7-11 year olds.My son was in fourth grade and interested in foreign places and people. He found this book in his school's media center. It showed all kinds of things you would see on a walk in a park, but the great thing was that it identified all the sights in four languages, English, Russian, French and Spanish (I haven't seen this book in many years, it could have been Italian). My son took that book out of the media center every week for two years. He used it to teach himself Russian. By the time he left elementary school and the book behind, he could read, write and speak Russian enough to understand articles in Russian language newspapers, ask written questions of and speak to Russian speakers. What he got from the book is an understanding that people are the same all over the world, they just use different sounds to say the same things. This book inspired a lifelong interest in the world and its diverse peoples. He self-studied Russian until he hit college, where he majored in International Studies and Russian Language. After spending a year attending a Russian university, today he is serving his country in a former Soviet republic. He is living his dream, and it all started with this book. That's why I'm trying to find a copy. I think it would make a great gift for him. I'm sorry its out of print. It seems to me this book is needed more now than ever, with the world shrinking through electronic media. This book literally opened up the world for my son and both he and I will be forever grateful. It could do the same for others if it was still around. I don't care if this is not really a review, I just wanted to tell you and the author how I felt and what this book has meant to at least one reader.

I loved this book!
This is the ultimate arm chair traveling book. It is a great introduction to Wales: the landscape, culture and history. I have yet to visit Wales, but I dream of taking the exact route as A. Bailey. I highly recommend this book.

Look at the Moon, not the finger!
I consider myself very privileged to have joined the year-long Maxi-Sadhana, directed by Tony, at Poona in 1976, together with Carlos Valles, S.J. and 16 other priests and nuns. I also had joined a number of Tony's retreats and conferences. Tony had the special gift in touching so many lives and was instrumental in their transformation. After more than 25 years, I continue to find sustenance in his writings. This book, translated from the Spanish, is an excellent introduction to Tony's recurrent themes on being free from illusions and any fixed ideas of God, self and the world. He is like a Zen master, guiding people to enlightenment through anecdotes, stories and practical meditative exercises. The fundamental and universal human aspirations for: peace, happiness, life, freedom, love, prayer, liberation, spirituality and healing are all responded to in these conferences. You can dip into any page and find much nourishment. This is true of all his writings, tapes and videos--if you relate to him with the awareness of one's hunger and poverty of spirit and not trying to scrutinise him for doctrinaire orthodoxy. Do not mistake the finger which only points to the Mystery and Source which can never be fully conceptualised as the Moon. May all his readers share the blessings and liberations that I have personally experienced through coming into contact with Fr. Anthony de Mello.

A Scary Book!
You would have to consider this book to be a literal eye opener. The author gives several real life examples of Nazi war criminals living the good life in the United States. The author
takes several cases of Nazis who have set up residency in the
United States. The details of these individuals false residency
makes for informative reading as well. The network that protects
these individuals is given attention as well. This makes for scary reading that Nazi war criminals could actually live the good life of the United States as normal American citizens. This
is a book that will make you wonder. Read this book. It is definitely a page turner.

Wit & Charm
This collection of William Anthony's drawings are wonderfully witty and fun, and serve as a parody of war, if there can be such a thing, as well. Mr. Anthony's skilled artistry lies behind the disarmingly child-like hand in which the pictures are drawn. I consider this book a modern classic.

Inspired photos and knowledgeable advice
Anthony Paul's book covers all styles of water gardens with accompanying photos and plans. Construction techniques are clearly explained, accompanied by line drawings. Plants to use for stocking the water garden appear in a separate section, as well as a glossary of terms. While most of the gardens featured were designed by landscape professionals, many of the ideas can be extracted and incorporated into one's garden.
