"A-B-C Et Cetera" is funny and entertaining while at the same time informative and enlightening. I use this book in my classroom all the time, and my Latin students love it. The Humez Brothers have a knack for making a "once upon a time" anecdote about Rome an etymological and educational challenge!

This book gives the history of latin words, letter by letter. How they came to be and how the meaning of words have changed over the years enlightens the reader. Entertaining reading as well as informative. If you are at all interested in word origins, this is the book for you.

I AM COMPLETELY CAPTIVATED BY THIS BOOK. I HAVE READ IT FOUR TIMES THIS YEAR. MARY WRITES OF HER EXPERIENCES DURING WWII LIVING ON A FARM AND RAISING HER CHILDREN. SHE MAINTAINS AN OPTIMISM AND AN INNER STRENGTH THAT IS RARE AND BEAUTIFUL. VERY INSPIRING BOOK, VERY FUNNY AND TRUTHFUL BOOK. I AM LEAVING FOR TULSA TODAY TO TRY AND FIND HER FARM AND SEE IF I CAN FIND A BIT OF MARY'S STRENGTH LEFT BEHIND.

I purchased this book for my sister as a Christmas gift, and the entire family enjoyed it. We were raised on a farm, and barns hold special memories for all of us.

This book, "Barns", has wonderful full-color pictures of all types of barns. Its author has captured the very essence and personality of each barn. It is a wonderful addition to anyone's library.

This book does a nice job of presenting justification for clinical integration, and goes further to offer practical guidelines. In combination with Searight's book, it would make a good course on the topic.

Before George Kennan's formulation (surrender-on-the-installment-plan) of containment, and WAY before the Reagan/Casey/Kirkland/John Paul II policy of active engagement of Soviet communism, there was roll-back, wherein the west would aggressively seek liberation of sovietized countries. In the forties it seemed Albania was a good spot. If it was or not we wouldn't know, because the Soviet agent Philby, stuttering through bad teeth, had the British buffaloed. His betrayals caused deaths of those seeking liberty all over the world: Russia, Ukraine, Central Europe, and our servicemen in Korea. But here Bethell concentrates on one act: Philby's actions in Albania. Paramilitary forces were to be inserted, Enver Hoxha to be deposed, our natural allies liberated. Instead, the treason of one man left the operation destroyed, the participants slaughtered and or tortured, and Albania cast into decades of marxist darkness.

This readable and well researched study of the Serbian community in Croatia sheds bright light on the political, ethic, and regional rivalries that endure in the tragedy of modern Yugoslavia.

With an informative essay by Nicholas Watson, and additional contributions to the text by Jennifer Paoletti and Therese Barruel, Beyond The Easel is a magnificent, very highly recommended addition to personal, academic, and community library art history collections.

This is an excellent, one-of-a-kind field guide. Not since the 1940s has any book on this area of the Pacific appeared, let alone such a beautiful, usable field guide. The illustrations, maps and text are both accurate and up-to-date. The authors, highly reputable ornithologists of international stature, are to be congratulated on their efforts in this little-known area of the Pacific, historically and currently beset with political strife.
