Too much name dropping, too little pilgrimaging
My title explains much of my reaction to this book. I felt like Muggeridge was simply trying to capitalize on his career and his association with Mother Teresa. He regularly tries to convince the reader that he has difficulties and temptations to overcome, but far more of the time in this book is spent on non-spiritual matters.

I should also say that Muggeridge has some fairly conservative views on issues, particularly abortion, and if you don't share them, he doesn't give any room for disagreement. While I acknowledge his rights to have those beliefs, I will exercise my right not to read his works further.

Enjoyed when this first came out
This is the third book in Aleen Malcolm's trilogy of the love between Black Cameron and Sir Alexander Sinclair. This book picks up with Cameron's two daughters, Rue and Kestrel. When I first read this book 15 years ago, I loved it! Unfortunately, it hasn't aged well. Nick & Kes are violent & hit each other fairly often. Kes runs around naked ALL THE TIME & she uses sex as a weapon against Nick. The second story, Rue & Quin is better, more gentle, more loving. Even that said, this is the best of the trilogy. The other two, The Taming & Ride out the Storm have a lot of violence between the two lead characters. I wouldn't necessarily reccomend this book unless you've read the others in the trilogy & want to see how it all ends.

Which is the greater threat - the Master or boredom?
Based on the TV serial 'Colony in Space', Malcolm Hulke adapts his own story, which features the first trip of the third Doctor and Jo in the TARDIS.

Showing Jo the TARDIS interior, the ship suddenly takes off without any actions from the Doctor and the pair are deposited on an alien planet 1000 years in the future. They are captured by colonists, who believe they are working for the IMC, a mining company who wants to exploit the minerals of their planet. Amongst conflict between the two groups of humans, and the possible threat of the Primitives of the world, a Earth Adjudicator arrives to settle the problems. But he is, in fact, the Master...

For the first trip into space in two years, this story is actually very dull, making the Earth-based ones seem much better by comparison. It is quite drawn out, taking a while to get to the point, with several spurious conflicts that seem to exist simply to string out the book.

The illustrations are OK, but not great.

This novel was one of the first published by Target, and somewhat spuriously adds the meeting between the Doctor and Jo to the beginning of the book. If you were reading the novelisations in order, this would be your second encounter with this seen, the previous one being three books before!

Fairly comprehensive treatment of one small part of topic
This mis-named book is about nothing other than the application of economic decision-making frameworks to farm management decisions. It says nothing about the context - social, institutional, political, economic, external - of Australian agriculture, nor does it say anything about how to raise animals or grow crops, nor will it help policy analysts in applying social cost-benefit analysis. On the other hand, it is a very comprehensive treatment of its chosen topic, and demonstrates that even techniques of a high level of conceptual sophistication can be applied to practical farm management decisions. The non-treatment of ecological sustainability issues will raise the ire of many - particularly the curtly inappropriate dismissal of agro-forestry. Sustainability issues can be incorporated into the decision-making framework recommended by the authors - indeed, doing so would have aided their message, as long as the discussion of time preference - discounting etc - was also adjusted to recognise the different "discount rates" that should apply to sustainability issues.

A great disappointment of a sequel.
Escape to Witch Mountain was a great book, made into a fun kid's movie. Then a sequel to the movie was made, and as far as I can tell, this book is merely the literal translation of that inferior second movie. It is nothing like Key's other books, and is sure to disappoint any fans of his who hope for a real continuation of the Witch Mountain story.

A Poor Disguise
I found this book to be a poorly disguised sermon. Disguised as what, I'm not sure. A novel? No, there was only a vague attempt at one character who changed or morphed throughout the book in order to deliver the stale sermon. There was no plot, the ideas were simplistic and obvious and the author's attempt at creativity only muddled his point (if there was one) and caused confusion. Sadly, I do not recommend this book. If this book were a movie, I would have walked out in the middle and asked for my money back.

Looks good at first glance, but many details are incorrect.
The book is nice in that it describes many tank battles throughout this past century, but in doing so, it misses out on several historical battles after the second world war. It tends to fall into generalisations, instead of paying a litle more attention to detail and historical accuracy.

There are many small errors in the book, especially when it comes to the captions with many of the pictures and drawings. That goes to show that the writers are more interested in general numbers ("that many tanks from each side attended that battle") and vague descriptions than actually recognising the vehicles that they were talking about.

In short: A decent book for someone who's not too knowledgeable about tanks, but too shallow for die hard wargamers and historians.

class assignment
A little boy calls this magical Greek island home. He and his dog, Roger, live on Corfu. They have many animal friends living with them. One sunny morning, while on a walk, they rescued a tortoise who had fallen into the sea. Toby feels left out because there is only one of him and there is two of everyone else. Share the search for a wife with Toby.

This book was alright, not one of my favorites. You and your child may enjoy it though. It is a great book to use your imagination with. From the drak snakes to the furry blue bumblebees, the illustrations are great. Don't let my opinion stop you, read this book for yourself.

Lovely drawings not enough
Beautifully expansive pencil drawings don't entirely redeem this disappointing story. Yeah, yeah, I know that meeting a tramp in a vacant lot near the railway happened to the author and all, but the anecdote needed more focus to make a successful tale.

DONT BE FOOLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TREVOR BROWN IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS BOOK, I AM A TREVOR BROWN FAN AND THOUGHT THIS BOOK MAY HAVE DRAWINGS OF HIS TO COMPLEMENT THE BOOK....WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONLY THING OF TREVOR BROWN IS THE COVER, THAT'S IT. THE REST OF THE BOOK IS A BOOK, NO PICTURES OR ANYTHING ELSE, JUST A STORY. DONT GET THIS BOOK THINKING THAT THIS IS TREVOR BROWN'S EDITION OF ALICE.

Dont get it for the Trevor Brown Credit
I was misled by the Illustrator credit. I am a huge Trevor Brown fan and when I found he had "illustrated" this edition of Alice In Wonderland I was estatic! Imagining the possibilities his twisted and beautiful style could create with the already bizzare images from the book. Well his involvment amounts to the COVER OF THE BOOK! No other Trevor Brown illustrations are present in this tiny volume. The book itself is quite small. I was also irritated that regular ground shipping cost me MORE than the book did! Steer clear and buy a cheaper copy if all you want is the book.
