A selection of deeply spiritual Christian prayers
Prayers For The Later Years by Malcolm Boyd (Episcopal Priest and Poet/Writer in Residence, The Cathedral Center of St. Paul, Los Angeles, California) is a selection of deeply spiritual Christian prayers written especially for the aging generation of readers. Each page presents a different prose or poetry passage addressed to Jesus Christ, containing within the authors heartfelt love for God and gentle acceptance of the difficulties of getting older. A tender, reverently devotional book, Prayers For The Later Years is enthusiastically recommended reading, especially for seniors.

Gives you the stuff you really use as crew
This book explains how to hoist, tack, gybe, and dowse sails, and interprets the muttering and cursing emanating from the back of the boat. It doesn't dwell on sailing theory, navigation, tactics, rights of way, or any of that other confusing stuff. This book is the most single useful aid I have seen for enjoying sailboat racing. I encourage everyone who has ever been confused by contradictory instructions, advice, or exhortations to rush across to Amazon for a copy. I might even get a couple extra for on-board reading.

Recovering America
the latest book in Malcolm's many wonderful books is great. He is a great illustrator and writer especially his hand written text. I use this book as an introduction to all of my classes in sustainable architecture that I teach from middle school to university. It is clear, concise and addresses the issue of green spaces vs. urban evolution of the built environment. it is a quick read, very profound in its statement and makes a nice addition to the library.

A playfully serious critique of the Sociology of Knowledge
If you want a book the explores the radical implications of the paradoxes of self-reference for the social production of scientific knowledge, look no further. Ashmore's work is funny, infuriating, deep and unyielding in it's exploration of some of the fundamental dilemmas involved in investigating scientific knowledge with--scientific tools. While it is a substantive critique of the philosophical questions of realism and relativism, Ashmore takes great care to use the critique to open a "conceptual space", as it were, beyond the tired juxtapositions of realism/idealism and absolutism/relativism, all the while making critical comments on just what is wrong and right in attempting to look at both the history and historiography of science and epistemology in post-Kuhnian ways. At the same time, he nests the various themes of the book inside one another like Russian dolls and/or Onions, never passing up the opportunity to explore self-reflexiveness in all it's richness. Realists have yet to come up with an adequate rejoinder to Ashmore's exploratory work on meta-epistemology. If you're fascinated by self-reference in all it's guises, this is a must read.

Brilliant - A Must read for all Australian Republicans
In this book, Turnbull explores the options for Australian Republicanism and draws a compelling portrait of the political and historical imperative for an Australian republic. The determination and Passion that Turnbull has for his country having its own head of state shines through in this book. To those who voted Yes in the failed republican referendum, this is your handbook to keep up the fight. Fot those who voted NO, get this book to dispell the lies you were told during the campain. Viva Republic!

Probably written by a Northern contemporary of Chaucer, the Pearl manuscript's poems are nevertheless worlds apart from his work: they combine Old English alliterative verse with the kind of rhyming structures that were in fashion on the Continent and down south to create something unique and beautiful.
This edition is a very well-presented one, with a comprehensive introduction to the poems, a glossary at the back containing just about all the words in the poems (with line references), and other glosses intelligently placed at the foot of each page of text for the more obscure phrases. It's a system which gives maximum readability and minimum flicking back and forth to check the meaning of words and phrases - ideal for the student.
