Great informative pictures
This helpfull book was printed in England 1987, so it is not completly up to date with treatment and MRI. However that does not affect the the superb work of this "Diganostic Picture Test"; varity of clinical patients especially Neurophtalmology - fundoscopy - peripheral nerves, Gross pathology, Spine and Skull X ray, Angiograms, Ct scan, in adition to EEG and other sepeciality as Fat necrosis, Q#80. A Tiny Book so you don't make Big Mistakes
This is a book about the do's and don'ts of behaviour on the golf course and in the clubhouse. There is guidance for every situation you could imagine.

This tiny book fits nicely into a leather cover so you can keep it in your golf bag.

"There can be few things more irritating, and at times even infuritating, for a golfer than to find his game ruined by thougtless and ignorant behavior by other players on the course."

Simple things like picking up your broken tee sound logical, but then again there are still people who toss trash from their cars. So, you just never know.

Very Matter-of-Fact style. This is just what
is expected.

Letting faster players move ahead of your group, being aware of time-saving-tips (like removing gloves while walking) will keep the game moving smoothly along.

The section on taking care of the course was informative. Simple things like raking away footprints helps the next golfer if their golf ball happens to rest in the exact spot where you just walked.

Helpful tips like protecting your set of golf clubs while travelling abroad and taking the proper clothes for various
weather conditions helps to protect you and your
investment.

Excellent supplemental reading for the study of Dylan Thomas
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas made history in his poetry readings to an American audience in 1950: his style and presentation went beyond most academic presentations of poetry and entered the realm of the personal. This provides a biography of Thomas which is key to understanding his works and experiences in this country, and will make for excellent supplemental reading for those studying his writings.

EXCELLENT General Herbal Introduction
I bought this book and had no idea that it would be such a fantastic reference guide for my studies in Herbalism. At this time I am studying to be an Herbalist and I have some materials such as texts and videos. However, none of them have colour pictures of the plants themselves,(this makes identification MUCH easier). From general history to detailed constituents, this book has it all. Ther are many recipes and ideas for health and beauty as well as dyes and remedies. Although this book is twenty years old, the general information is excellent for the interested novice and expert alike!

The Essence of Fiction
Malcolm McConnell has in one book hit upon all the points necessary for good fiction writing. By using examples of his students' writing as starting points, he takes us along on the journey where these writers become more and more polished in their craft. I was particularly impressed with the progress made by Bill Schmit, one of his student writers, from the first draft of "With No Regrets" to his rewrite. Mr. McConnell used this second draft to illustrate the "Pivot of Illumination" in one of the characters. To quote Mr. McConnell, "I am not suggesting that the second draft of "With No Regrets" is completely integrated, faultlessly polished fiction. But I use these two draft scenes as examples of what can be accomplished once the beginning writer understands the requirements of dramatic structure in fiction." Read this book and you'll begin to appreciate the journey writers like "Bill Schmit" take in polishing their craft. Maybe one day "Bill Schmit" WILL write that "completely integrated, faultlessly polished fiction" Malcolm McConnell talks about in "The Essence of Fiction."

Terrific terrific book! Gorgeous and practical projects!
I've been knitting for about a decade and have dozens of knitting books. This is the best all-around pattern book I've seen. The afghans are BEAUTIFUL - just beautiful! I'd like to make each and every one. The instructions are clear; there are patterns clearly marked for all skill levels. There are knitted projects and crocheted projects. There are afghans made in pieces and afghans made as a whole. And best of all, the recommendations for yarn are not just for $11 a skein peruvian virgin alpaca that you can only buy in a yarn specialty shop - there are yarn recommendations for $3 a skein yarns you can buy in any craft store. This is a well-organized, beautifully presented and worthy addition to any knitter's or crocheter's library.

Storytelling at its best
Gerald Durrell's books, The Fantastic Dinosaur Adventure, and The Fantastic Flying Journey are two of my family's favorite books. Gerald Durrell wrote over 35 books, mainly for adults, about his real life adventures all over the globe collecting animals for zoos, primarily for the zoo he founded, and funded through his books, on the island of Jersey.
Durrell had a life-long love of animals, first described in his book My Family and Other Animals, an autobiographical account of his unusual childhood, growing up on the island of Corfu, where his mother brought Gerald (age 10) and her three older children, at the badgering of the eldest, Lawrence Durrell (author of The Alexandria Quartet), in order to escape the cold, wet weather of England.
The Fantastic Flying Journey and The Fantastic Dinosaur Adventure describe the adventures and mishaps of "Great Uncle Lancelot" and the Dollybutt children, Emma and her twin brothers, Ivan and Conrad. In The Fantastic Flying Journey, they travel around the world, in a self-contained eco-system house, carried by a hot-air balloon, the Belladonna. Great Uncle Lancelot has persuaded Mrs. Dollybutt to let him take her children with him, while he searches for his brother Percival. Percival had invented some special powder which enabled the wearer to speak to, and be understood by, animals. Thus they were able to trace the route followed by Percival. It's a charming tale, relished by young and old.
Our daughter's third grade teacher used the book as part of a year-long project, because it encompassed so many topics.
The Fantastic Dinosaur Adventure is the story of the second journey made by Great Uncle Lancelot and the Dollybutt children, as they travel back in time to the Age (actually there are 3 ages) of the Dinosaurs, to help save the dinosaurs from an evil Dinosaur hunter who has stolen a time machine. Saving animals from hunters and from extinction due to the destruction of their environment was a real-life theme for Durrell. It was/is the purpose for his zoo, and he was the first person to impress upon zoos of the world a need for a calling greater than entertainment, i.e., to teach people about animals and to help save animals from extinction by founding breeding pairs to keep the species alive.
Durrell's warm humor and love of animals permeates his books, which are both entertaining and cleverly educational. The illustrations in both these books heighten the readers' enjoyment.
