Light-hearted but educational - classic Durrell
In this book, the legendary Gerald Durrell (author of The Amateur Naturalist) uses the occassion of the 'birthday' of his zoo and conservation trust to reflect on a long career of adventures and misadventures with animals (human and otherwise) in the service of saving the planet. There are many laugh-out-loud funny moments, many triumphs, and a few depressing failures looked at with head-on honesty. A recommended read for all Durrell fans and animal lovers.

What a fun book!
Our hero, Alan Graham takes on a more "modern" mystery in this book. The John F. Kennedy assassination. What I like about Mr. Shuman's books is that we takes real happenings in our history and explores them with therories. Mr. Shuman as always taken his readers on a wonderful adventure, full of twist and turns. This book has plenty of them too! The only thing I missed was Pepper. I understand why Mr. Shuman sent her on a trip in this one, but I still don't have to like it. Alan gets his head on a little better in this adventure. Which is nice. As I've said before, Alan is a very likable hero, but sometimes he can be such a jerk. That is part of the fun of this series. Alan is a bit like Harlan Coben's hero Myron. Very human. Keep them coming Mr. Shuman. Thank you for all the fun!

my review
In my opinion, the autobiography of Malcolm X was an excellent book. It gave me a lot of insight into one the most prominent black leaders of the 20th century. Malcolm X's life was a roller coaster compared to everybody else's. He moved a lot when he was young, since his dad was a minister. Then his dad died at the hand of some white supremacists. After the death of his father his mom went crazy, and this caused the separation of him from his family. I don't want to give you any more information because I want you to read the book for yourself. It may become your inspiration, and influence you to do things that you may have thought you weren't capable of.

Fascinating, Witty and Humorous
The aye-aye and I is a quick and easy read and the relatively famous author has one of the best writing styles I've ever seen. It tells of the trials and tribulations of the late Gerald Durrell through his trip through Madagascar , though it is humorous it also has many insights to the people and wildlife of this interesting island.

Another delightful book by Durrell
Like all of Gerald's Durrell's books, The Aye-Aye and I will make you laugh cover to cover at the encounters between Durrell's party and the animal and human inhabitants of Madagascar. Since this book was written when Durrell was bringing back animals for the breeding programs he hoped would save them from extinction (in earlier books, he was bringing animals back for zoos), the book also has interesting comments of the state of the environment and economy in Madagascar and its effect on the animal (and human) populations. The aye-aye sounds like an extraordinary animal. I hope he managed to save it.
