the ultimate pucci book for the ultimate pucci collector
Although a rather rare and pricey item to purchase, Pucci-A Renaissance in Fashion is definately worth the price if you are a hardcore Pucci collector, or even someone with money to burn who has just stumbled upon Emilio's colorful world. Printed and bound in Japan with a Pucci patterned cover, this book is collectible itself. As for the contents of the book, they definately do not fail to please even the most knowledgeable Pucci-head. Written by an obsessed fan, this book is a loving tribute to all things Pucci. It features Emilio history, descriptions and histories of the company and its many products, charming anecdotes of other collectors all detailed with millions of glorious photographs. These photos range from Pucci candy promos to full color full page ads. Here is your chance to stare for as long as you want at all the things you'll probably never be able to see or afford! All of this eye candy will have you drooling for hours. Despite the price, the euphoria you'll get is worth it.

A fast and easy way to learn medical terminology
Whether you want to understand what your doctor just told you, or you're considering a career in medicine, I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn medical terminology. Quick Medical Terminology will teach you to break down medical terms into parts so you can pronounce, spell, and define them. No previous knowledge of the medical profession is necessary. The format is simple. New words are listed at the beginning of each unit. Word definitions are short and easy to understand. Good examples are given for each term. There are blanks to complete throughout the text, two tests at the end of each unit, and final self tests at the end of the book. Answers for each question and the tests are also provided, so you can check your work. A great way to learn over 500 medical terms at your own pace!

Magnificent!!
It's a tragedy that so many great women are left out history's big picture and Shirley Graham Dubois may have been one of them.

Before reading her biography I knew Shirley Graham Dubois only as author and wife to Dr. W.E.B. Dubois, but she was so much more.

Shirley Graham Dubois' career included amongst other things, professor, playwright, author, political activist and nation builder. She was an intellectual powerhouse who just happened to be married to one of the greatest minds of the twentieth century.

Beautifully written and thoroughly researched by Dr. Gerald Horne, this book also provides personal insight into Graham Dubois' role in challenging U.S. imperialism from Ghana to Communist China.

Thank you Dr. Horne for bringing this incredible woman to our attention. Please read this book as a companion to the Pulitzer Prize winning biography of Dr. W.E.B Dubois (volumes 1 & 2), by Dr. David Levering Lewis.

The history of the twentieth century would be incomplete without her story.

A really, really good book for dummies like me!
I was initially struck by the early sections, which so clearly laid out all the elements of preparing for an RV vacation, including renting or buying, eating and sleeping on the road, and everything from cell phones to the pros and cons of carrying a gun. The remainder of the book has 14 trips around all parts of the US from New England to Florida, Route 66 to California, and the Northwest.

Very handy are details of attractions and campgrounds, which are laid out simply and enjoyable to read. Each trip has a detailed map showing the locations of campgrounds and things to don't want to miss. Anyone who's thinking about RVing will want to get this book.

A must buy!!..
This is a necessary addition to the current body of literature on literacy. The book begins with a concise review of the current research on out-of-school literacies and proceeds to provide fascinating theoretical and practical insights from educators and researchers. An interesting component to the volume is the brief practitioner response that accompanies each chapter. This is a must read for anyone interested in improving the literacy practices of marginalized youth.

Intro to Science Dream
I am teaching Physical Science, an intro to science freshman course, at a high school in NH. I asked my students to find some information on who discovered the parts of the atom for homework. Most of my students didn't have much success with the internet, their science text book, or other text books. However, one of my students brought in this book. It had a full page on the information that I was looking for, plus other references on other aspects of the atom. The atom wasn't the only topic that I was impressed with. In general it contains an excellent, basic description of most fundamentals of science. For a teacher that is trying to find new ways of presenting information, it is truely a find. It is also a great companion for the student that might have a little trouble in the sciences. There are wonderful, full-color illustrations to accompany simple, yet well written and content filled text. In short, I was very impressed with this book. Not to mention the author was also involved in another of my favorite books "The Way Things Work". If I could require this book for my students, and reccommend it to all science teachers, I would.

Enjoyable Book..
Romantic book in the older style more family saga than a true romance even though romance hype is there. Written and published in 1988 ..even though styles of writing/storytelling have changed, it is an enjoyable read.

Plot:

They Dare to cross a forbidden line for love. New York 1887. In the heat of summer's darkness they met, engulfed by a love so deep, so searing, it could not be denied. James Edward Clinton - He had everything, wealth power, privilege everything except the woman and the son he loved more than life itself. From the moment he first saw Alaina on that moonlight highway, he longed to possess her with an enduring passion time could not destroy.

Alaina Granger - Proud, courageous with an inherent grace that would become her only shield in a life rocked by scandal, she gave her heart and soul to one man who was forever tied to another woman. A woman who would become Alaina's greatest enemy in a battle where no weapon was too small, no victory too great.
