Great Christian Teen Book
I think that thhis book was really good. It's great for teen girls to have a good Christian book. Also, it talks about the consequences of having a baby and having to give it up. Great book!! I recomend it to teens 13-16.

GREAT CHRISTIAN BOOK THAT SHOWS GOOD VALUES DURING BAD TIMES
This is the first book of the Focus on the Family Series. I absoleutly loved it and would recommend it to the older teen group (14-17). The girl really learns what it means to trust in God and give your heart out to him. Later on, she is faced with a very difficult Christian decision: after getting pregnant, should she give up the baby or have an abortion? This book is great and I am looking forward to seeing more of Shirley Brinkerhoff's books out soon!

Must read!!
This book is the most complete and intelligent essay I have seen for the past 10 years of work with wildlife conservation and management. Should I have read before, it would have given me more insight in my career. This book is the result of an enormous work load done by scientists, politicians and anthropologists very well compiled in 400 pages.

Good book
Library Journal's review of this guide: "Combining encyclopedic coverage of destinations with loads of practical information and atlas-type maps, the series illuminates the wonders of nature but emphasizes the peculiarity of a place's people and their folklore."

HAha (wimper), ewww, DON'T Touch mE, brain hurts.
John Shirley's notorius, exciting, revolutionary collection. John Shirley's talent lies in his abilty to shock, and inspire many emotions at once. Many of the stories in this collection are very funny, and some are extremely shocking and depressing, they span many genres, but all very distinct to John Shirley. My personal favorite in this is called "'I want to get married,' says the world's smallest man". The small person in question is and up-and-coming actor, working to achive his dream of working with his hero, Arnold Swartzanagre. He also has an article in the Enquirer, with an adress for women to write to if they want to marry him. The woman who responds is a crack whore. Funny but disturbing. Some of these stories also apear in Shirley's other, larger short story collection "Really, Really, Really, Really, Weird Stories" which i also would recomend.

No Sidewalks Here: A Pictorial History of Hillsborough, California

A historical gem
Certainly the only one of its topic, No Sidewalks Here combines beautiful black-and-white photographs with delightful historical vignettes to create an enduring portrait of Hillsborough, CA. Hillsborough, the authors state in the introduction, was "an exclusive enclave for the millionaire elite", and had no sidewalks, apparently a disturbing reminder of the pedestrian nature of city life. In No Sidewalks, the authors have collected family photographs, spoken to longtime residents, and have created a text that portrays this millionaire colony, warts and all. Overall, a delightful survey of a now-vanished society and a beautifully produced piece of local history. Even for those unfamiliar with the region, this is a highly enjoyable text.

The New Millennium Must
A Note Slipped Under the Door by Nick Flynn/Shirley McPhillips is THE "how-to-teach-poetry" book of the new millennium! The format is a wonderful blend of easy to re-create lessons and an extremely well-written text with stories, anecdotes, and poems that will have you laughing and crying...but definitely eager to read on. As I read the first few chapters one Sunday night, I couldn't wait to get into school on Monday to try out EVERYTHING I'd learned.
