Fantastic! Visionary!
Plenty of husbands and wives in the job world today find themselves feeling as if they must choose between their careers and their families. The Gregorys say there is a better way to live and work, one that need not force spouses into such unfair decisions. The Gregorys, entrepreneurs and longtime journalists, present a compelling argument that working at home provides the perfect framework for a couple to design their lives the way they want, share more-and better-time and experiences together, and grow closer to each other and their kids in the process. Thanks to solid research, including interviews with dozens of "Home Team" couples nationwide-and a few internationally-the book contains a wealth of helpful how-to tips for couples who have been running full- or part-time businesses from the home for years, as well as why-to information for spouses in traditional jobs who desire a better life. The authors tackle topics such as: how couples with wildly different persona! lities and workstyles can work in the same home successfully; how to savor the joys of Home Team parenting, yet get your work done; how to rekindle or ignite the flames of romance and sex-before, during and after work; and potential career and life benefits for both women and men. Best of all, it's an entertaining read, which is refreshing from a business book. The Gregorys' writing style sends readers a clear message that both life and work can-and should be-fun. While the Gregorys are strong promoters of the lifestyle, this book is far from Pollyannish. The authors write that it takes an unwavering commitment to both the marriage and businesses for this lifestyle to be a success, and those who will not do so are better off sticking to more traditional ways of making a living. But those with a burn to chase business dreams and share more of life with their families will cheer The Home Team for the information and inspiration it provides that will help them create their own, more rewarding vision of success.

Great Rebus Book!
I'm Not Feeling Well Today is a fun rebus rhyme about a child who claims to not be feeling well because he doesn't want to go to school. My daughter quickly had the story memorized and loved "reading" the list of things the boy would need to help him feel better.

The story is very cute and the rhyme is fun. Children will love participating in the story and you won't mind reading it again and again. It is a great book to introduce to children who are getting ready to read.

Implementing Change: Patterns, Principles, and Potholes

: Implementing Change: Patterns, Principles, and Potholes
Implementing Change: Patterns, Principles, and Potholes (2001) is the latest book on the process of educational change and leadership co-authored by Gene E. Hall and Shirley M. Hord. It describes the Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM), a framework they have been developing for use in organizational and educational settings for the past thirty years. Within it they describe how people can and do facilitate change. Leadership today requires the ability to organize and direct human resources for levels of constant change, most recently in educational settings. This book provides educational leaders and change agents with practical tools and advice on how to effectively accomplish their goals. Among them are: innovation configuration mapping techniques, stages of concern surveys and evaluative tools, and levels of use matrices, as well as information on leadership styles and how they affect change.
The format of this book is not only engaging, but entertaining. Chapters begin with quotes in first person narrative, from real/fictitious accounts of people involved in change. The figures and graphics, often using analogies and metaphors for text ideas, add to the clarity and the readability of the book. Case studies and examples are interspersed with humor and credible settings and characters. Focus questions within chapters and discussion questions at the end of the chapter invite further thinking and discussion which makes it an ideal resource for study/focus groups who are dealing with change. Chapter endings also include suggestions for fieldwork activities that provide opportunities for active engagement with the issues being discussed.
While they caution readers not to use this as a recipe book (p. 103) it is difficult to overlook the accommodating and sequential format they use, filled with useful advice and suggestions. Hall and Hord offer practical tools and a unique combination of theory, research and practice for coping with change in organizational structures. With good humor and practical advice this is one of the most readable and useful books ever to help managers and change facilitators navigate through the difficult process of organizational changes.

A Real Life Testimony of Triumph in Hardship
This is John Grisham's The Testament meeting real life. Mary Beth Lagerborg through God's help brings the story of the Raschers to life. The Raschers are a missionary couple in Irian Jaya that are used in miraculous ways. I prayed, dreamt, hurt, and triumphed with the Raschers in this book. I put the book down feeling the Raschers were part of my life. This book blessed me and I pray it blesses you.

This book gave me all the information I needed in an easy to read format, without a lot of unnecessary information. I would recommend this book to any parent with school age children, that is planning to move to the Washington, DC area.

India's Bene Israel: A Comprehensive Inquiry and Sourcebook

Author: Shirley Berry Isenberg
Amazon base price: $37.50

The sub-title says exactly what the book is.
As a Bene Israel Jew the book impressed me very much. Lot of research work was done by the author. Many customs and history of the Bene Israel community are written profoundly by the author. The book isn't only about the Bene Israel, but also about other Jewish communities in India and outside India. The book also includes Indian history. This book is a good example of what a comprehensive book should be like.

It's all there.
This remarkable book reviews ten years of practical and theoretical advances in the application of hypnosis to psychotherapy. Hypnosis grew enormously in the 1990's and if you are unclear about how to apply hypnotic skills to therapeutic problems, this book is for you. It is clearly written and well organized for the professional practitioner. It is not a self-help book, and it is not "lightweight." It is a must-read for practitioners who want to know how to use hypnosis in psychotherapy. It is all there, including clear descriptions of the conceptual underpinnings.
