Concise and well-written
I am halfway through this book. It is extremely clear, well-written, and -- as promised -- short. It gives a very good overview of Jerusalem's history without skimping too much on the interesting details.

Stand Up and Fight Back
Having dealt with the supernatural all of my life, and not understanding what to do, this book had the answers. It is well written and precise. A good book for teenagers who are developing spiritually and are lacking the understanding of demonic attacks, generational curses and strongholds. This will give them the weapons they need to understand and do spiritual warfare. It explains how we open ourselves up to the devil and how to avoid leaving ourselves wide-open. I am a Youth Leader at church and would recommend this to the adults, as well. If we as parents don't get it, how can we help our children? Good book to give as a gift and to pass around. Ken Abraham did a great job of giving clarity to a subject that can be difficult explaining. Well written and worth reading!

War and politics combined
What a wonderful book. All the poetic writing of Sandburg in a very informative study of the Lincoln Administration during the Civil War. You will find less details on specific battles but many more details on the politics and behind the scenes characters. You won't want to put this one down. Get to know Lincoln, his Cabinet and his Generals.

Stimulates thought about correctional system reform.
...The plain, down-to-earth approach cannot help but stimulate not only interest but, hopefully, motivation to initiate thought and action towards change in our correctional system. I do not hesitate to recommend this informative and moving book to all mental health professionals and to all who are given the responsibility of caring for those in our correctional facilities. Excellent ocoverage of ALL aspects of design of supplies,
For design this book is excellent. It covers every aspect of the design of linear as well as switching power supplies,in all topologies used at the date of publication. While I have not read hi newer book on strictly switchers,I would assume it would be as good AS long as your interests were only switcher work, and would cover topologies not used in 77.

Step back in time
If you want to know what Lincoln and his family were really like, read this amazing book. Ms. Taft wrote this book in 1931. She played with the Lincoln boys in the White House as a 16 year-old. Her descriptions of the everyday life of the Lincoln's, the White House and the times they lived make you feel as if you ARE there. It's an amazing step back into a time that has been written about by many others, but not from such a perspective. Truly wonderful, simple and illuminating.

Beautiful, Inspiring, Profound
The cover is wonderfully symbolic. I like the way it is also used to introduce the different chapters, the Ten Journeys, by name, subtitle, quote from Genesis, and related quote.

The concept of seeing Abraham's "10 tests" as representing "The Ten Journeys of Life" is truly inspired. The book's subtitles, "Walking the Path of Abraham" and "A Guide to Being Human," tell the reader clearly what the book's about and serve as gentle, friendly, almost irresistible invitations to come along.

Each of the chapters delivers what it promises. The chapters are filled with valuable insights, grounded in deep, personal experience and the best of our Jewish tradition and way of life. The midrashic stories, personal anecdotes and apt quotes, found in each chapter, bring added dimension to your own profound comments and reflections.

The book is beautifully written, with classic simplicity, clarity and economy. It is deeply moving and meaningful. It is skillfully and masterfully written so that anyone can understand it and benefit from it. The words are bridges, not obstacles. This book reminds me of the highly regarded, timeless classic, "Basic Judaism," by Rabbi Milton Steinberg. "The Ten Journeys of Life/Walking the Path of Abraham/A Guide to Being Human" is in the same league.

As the author of a current, provocative biblical novel titled "Abraham, the Dreamer/An Erotic and Sacred Love Story," I was especially delighted to read Rabbi Gold's book. The books are different in concept and content. Hopefully they will lead to insight and inspiration.

Three days and a child
Published in Unknown Binding by Owen ()
Author: Abraham B. Yehoshua
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

exceptional short stories
Five stories, each unique with its own voice, defying nature, accepting nature, each deeply intent upon capturing the reader in the author's own world. A poet who decides to keep silence, with an extraordinary son, and a graduate student who is charged with the challenge of keeping his former lover's child for three days; a reclusive writer facing a forest he doesn't believe can exist--these are some of the marvelous characters that Yehoshua brings forth. And Israel is the setting drawing us to her wonders. This is a book that should be on every shelf of those who revere the art of fine short stories.

Thanks for the memories!
I remember watching this show when I was young, one of the few shows my parents allowed us to watch. It was a great way to learn some history about specific political events and prominent citizens with a contemporary "news reporter" format. Definitely more fun to watch than the boring historical documentaries of the time. The teleplays are a great way to relive those years and events, especially in light of the continued erosion of civil liberties and public derision of people with different viewpoints. It would be nice to buy the entire series on DVD with the complete teleplays!

Fascinating
This collection of primary texts from pagan, Jewish, Christian, and Islamic sources -- several translated for the very first time -- is absolutely wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and recommend it to anybody at all interested in Abraham, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, folklore, the ancient Near East, Jewish midrashic materials, Mormonism, etc., etc.
