Just what I was looking for since years!
I am not the only one who is a great fan of Sir Laurence- but maybe the only one aged 16. Since I saw his first film (King Henry V.) I am looking for a book of his works. I was sorry to see that neither in Hungary, nor in England (at least in those shop which I visited) such works are not available. I would be happy if I was one of the first ones to have it on my bookshelf. Theatrical air and enchanting genius - that's what you see in his films. As the subject of the book is so great, I think it is worth to read!

Indispensible Readings on the Psychology of Concepts
For linguistics and the philosophy of language to make any headway, the psychological nature of concepts cannot be ignored.

In "Core Readings," Margolis and Laurence performed the admirable job of keeping us on this task by assembling writings and criticisms of five theories of concepts: Classical, Prototype, Theory-Theory, Neoclassical, and Conceptual Atomism. What emerges from this assembly is an identification of the core questions that any theory of concepts must address.

No serious student of concepts should neglect this important collection.

Counseling American Indians
This book is extremely helpful for those going into the filed of counseling. As a Native American Substance abuse counsler I find that many of my fellow professionals do not understand the Native traditions and beliefs and tend to put everyone in the round hole, only Native refuse to fit. This book can take the mystery out od cultural counseling. This author is great with his work with Native Americans and I find much of what he said to be very factual and accurate. A must for any cultually competent counseler or person in the social service area.

Well written, provocative, compelling. The best read so far.
I read this book because I was appointed to our company's crisis management team. It prepared me to think about the variety of crises that could impact us, including natural disasters, workplace violence and IT threats. The case studies are fascinating and are from a variety of industries, and the sample crisis plan was easy to follow and adapt to our specific needs. I especially liked the interviews with people who have experienced crisis at their company, as well as reporters and trauma specialists. It's an interdisciplinary approach to a subject most people don't want to think about, and yet if a crisis occurs at your plant, no one wants to be surprised. In the process of preparing our employees, we reviewed about a dozen publications on the subject. Far and away, Barton did the best job of capturing the dynamics of what happens during a crisis, how to prepare and minimize damage, and how to recover. I'd recommend the book to those both experienced with risk management, crisis communication and environmental/legal aspects of incident management.

Respectful, insightful, on the money, Mr. Best...
I recently in Germany touring the American School Doin'Dunbar as 'Lias'Mother...I finished reading this book and wrote this poem...kudos to Best!!! On the importance of Dunbar to America's past and present...

IF NOT HE...THEN WHO?

From Jehovah's well of talent Dunbar drew poetic pictures of old times made new voices he gave to a people no one heard silent words hometales of slavery some happy all blue

Over his grave they made remarks saying his words were not so smart others cursed the rhymes he knew common verses rang so true love professed in witty ways his labor beyond them grew if not he to share a page of ourstory I ask myself then who? Other revealed their peoples ways city life & country days what mattered most is the little he knew feeling hearts and souls of our people stories, folktales, poetry, plays, songs in his birds eye view

Hidden from the world he grew fed on his parents voice slavery's addendum racist realities...he had no choice Born free to read and write in public view what else could he do? wrote in prose drew a rose if not he to stand above the few then who? Harris, English, Lanier, Chestnutt, Davis & Hay wrote plantation stories in their day make beleive stories in broken words Dunbar in English, Irish & German were heard he set his pen to move with God a blessing his lyrics set me free so to critics who live to critize tell me who could do it but he?

The Cupcake Cookbook
This is just what I was looking for: a cookbook for my grandchildren and myself to learn and enjoy making cupcakes together. They discuss the basic skills children learn while baking also the fun they have baking and eating them. This book gives you the opportunity to include kids in the baking process so that they feel helpful and good about the endeavor and we, the parents aren't frazzled by the experience. This book gives lots of tips about baking cupcakes with kids. This little cookbook also gives you recipes for frostings go with the yummy cupcakes you bake. These are a few of the chapters in the book: Cupcakes for Kids, Dinner Party Cupcakes, Fruit and Nut Cupcakes and Healthy Cupcakes. There are such recipes as Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes, Rainy Day Cupcakes, Pink Princess Cupcakes, Peanut Butter-Filled Chocolate Cupcakes, Kit-Kat Cupcakes, Perfect Picnic Cupcakes, Baseball Butterscotch Cupcakes, Root Beer Float Cupcakes, Henry's Race Car Cupcakes, Easy Carrot Cupcakes and a section for Dinner Party Cupcakes that appeal to adults. I recommend this cookbook to anyone who likes cupcakes and cooks or has children. In my opinion this book is a difinite plus for all Moms, Grandma's, Aunts, babbysitters and etc.

The curse of the squirrel
This is one of the greatest books that I have ever read. I feel that the play along tape is essential to really enjoying this book. The old timing blue grass music, alongside the great voice of the narrator, turns this book into an adventure that completely takes over the senses. Plus you get to hear the voices of the characters, and all of the really great sound effects. I can not go on enough about how great this story is. It is completely original and very creative. I am sure that while you are reading and listening; this book will stir up your imagination into a fun filled frenzy. This is an absolutely wonderful book, and I recomend it to anyone and everyone.
