A portrait of one of the United States' greatest presidents is not only a study of the politics of his administration, but the human himself. This book goes on about his qualities and how he acts. The book outlines a lot about some of the events that took place while he was in office. And I, having not been alive during his rule, found it very boring. I have no idea about half the things they talk about in the book. That is why my opinion may be debatable as others may have more of a background concerning these events. This book was written before he was assassinated. "Portrait of a President" really outlines Kennedy and what he was like, every single detail. If you want to read up about past events, read this book. If you want to read about who he truly was, read this book. If you want to take a nap, read this book.

This book, written by a minister who runs, is mostly a paeon to dogs. Its running advise is dated and general, and it offers little specifics about running with dogs.

Saftey's a good thing, but there is way TOO much saftey tips in this book. All you need is one section about saftey, but about 95 percent of the book is about safety. Grown-ups may like it, but it makes most kids get tired of it after two chapters. Not only this, but the author talks about things in history that aren't necassary, such as Issac Newton and the history of the band-aid, almost as if the Author is trying to get you into a history class in school (he does this in other books with math!)

This book contains a series of essays on the politics and sociology of food. Although it's a collection of essays by different authors, it's presented as a textbook, complete with a list of vocabulary words and discussion questions for each essay. A few of the articles are comprehensive review articles covering aspects of food and nutrition, such as eating out in England (Alan Warde & Lydia Martens), food and class (Pat Crotty), nutrition guidance for recent immigrants (Joanne Ikeda), and food and aging (Wm McIntosh & Karen Kubena). One article reports original research on women's impressions of their bodies during pregnancy (Lauren Williams & Jane Potter). Most of the remaining articles argue for a particular (politically correct) view of nutrition, food supplies, and obesity. (For example, the article on world hunger, which starts the book off, argues for neo-Marxist solutions to world hunger, yet overlooks the major role that armed conflicts play in causing famines.) The editors of the book are Australian, so it is not surprising that the majority of articles discuss questions that focus on Australian society, although some of the chapter discuss British society, and a few describe the US. This book could be used as a text for upper-level undergraduate courses (if you are determined to teach left-wing politics together with nutrition), but it probably wouldn't be a great choice for US campuses because of the Australian focus. On the other hand, the core review articles listed above would make great reading anywhere.

I know William Jay Smith is a respected poet, but I found his poems to be lacking something. His style seems to be stuck in adult mode, but with children's-poem-style. I'm probably not making myself very clear here, but I didn't find myself hating the book. I just didn't like it, and keep seem to work myself up into saying much about the book. And that should say it all.

Who wrote this book? Do they know about checking facts before submitting them? The misinformation is unfortunate, but overall is a fairly decent book if you are interested in an overview of the sport.

If you are looking for accurate facts, DONT buy this book. Many errors in the skater bios. For instance, it states that Mishketuniek & Dmitriev won the 1994 Worlds when in fact they did not even compete. Many remembrances of skating events are completely off the mark as well. Hold out for someone else to get it right. This man did not.

Book with a lot of informations, however too many mistakes for the price I paid for. Mr Malone should have this book reviewed by consulting different references available from others sources (books, former skaters, professionals, agents or researchers). I hope that, if a revised edition is published in the near future, informations will be more accurate.

I received this book as a free offer from McGraw-Hill a few years ago when I was new to networking. I learned very little from it. I am so glad I only paid for the shipping and handling. If you are new to the field and need a good study guide, don't buy this one!

This book doesn't even deserve 1 star at all. What a waste of money and paper. The authors have no clue on what it is meant by "Study Guide"

The book is about 900 pages and it wasted 233 pages for introduction of CNA/CNE, the cert, and the advantage of the cert, etc. For 4.x Administratin, it only provide 22 pages (and there is 16 pages for Questions). Do you think that good studying content can be included in 40 pages?? You know the answer!!

Computer Phreaking: How Computers Penetrate Each Other

Any book out there with a subject like "Top Secret", "Top Secret Technology Exposed!", "How to hack into computers" is obviously going to be full of bogus/misleading information so dangerously inaccurate you will end up in the slammer for attempting methods it gives (example, it may give methods once attempted by terrorists or hackers that were busted). Or you may be brainwashed with with complete garbage (it would be like reading an X-files style book that tells you in the book are about real things/events/technology and gives bogus dates even when the subjects are completely fictional and events never happened). The book should be avoided like a plague...

This so-called manual might be compared with one of those superficial "anarchist cookbooks". The title promises more than the content offers.
The author has apparently few skills in the field covered and offers little of valuable information to those in computer security or to the layman.

Anyone who justifies the mutilation of bodies, the wearing of women's body parts as hat ornaments, the smashing of children's heads as they beg for their lives, is a very sick person. People who would justify this would justify the holocaust.

i grew up with african mythology, with the stories, the jungle, the witch-doctors, the animals...all i got here was endless rhymes that might sound great if the story-teller were in front of me but was sleep inducing on paper.
so why a 2 star you ask, instead of only one star? for the effort...this book was written based on days/years of hard work...i have to respect that.
