Kitchen Table Publisher
I was impressed with the depth of this book. Although I haven't had the opportunity to read the whole book, I have been very pleased with the information supplied thus far. This book can be a valuable resource to anyone contemplating entering the publishing field.

A Good Start
This is helpful and informative, but is not a scholarly work. there are other more scholarly books available. i recommend this for bible study students, but not for theology students. more indepth books are available.

Answers the question, "What does it take to be a CNE?"
Many people have chosen to become CNEs because they like computers, or because they hear there is money in it. This book looks at the CNE from the career approach, not as a study guide, but as a career preparation guide.

The authors not only describe study and testing, but the work necessary to make a successful career out of the CNE, including continuing education and marketing.

A worthwhile read for those planning a career change.

Descent, but not really standalone
This book was descent. It covered most of the material on the CNA exam. I have not yet taken any CNE tests. The disks left some to be desired and the book actually left a few things out. I don't recomend this book as your only resource for the CNA or CNE exams.

Acts 17:26-27
While the mention of the name John Newton (1725-1807) will probably elicit a blank stare from most people, there are very few people who are unfamiliar with Newton's most famous composition - the hymn "Amazing Grace." Those familiar with the hymn most likely do not know that - prior to becoming a minister and a composer of hymns - Newton was a slave trader, a scoundrel, a ruffian, etc.

This book is Netwon's autobiography. I recently read it in one sitting and must say that I was incredibly humbled by Newton's account of his life. (This book broke scabs off of my heart that I thought were petrified!) There is no way that one can read this book and thereafter not have an added appreciation for Newton's lyrics (e.g., "amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me").

Newton's story puts flesh on the verse: "[God] determined the times set for [man] and the exact places where [man] should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though he is not far from each one of us." (Acts 17:26-27)

Some Good Discussions, Often Poorly Illustrated
The book contains some good discussions on overpopulation, food supplies, water pollution and other environmental issues. However, more detailed introductions are required on plate tectonics and soils so that novice readers may better understand earthquakes and food production, respectively. Each chapter contains a number of useful math problems and thought questions. There are also numerous tables of data, which are interesting, but may overwhelm some students. Some of these data may be more understandable if they were graphed. All of the photographs are in black and white, but are usually satisfactory. However, many of the illustrations are only rough sketches and do not adequately illustrate important concepts for beginning undergraduates (as examples: plate margins [Figure 3.3, p. 75] and active and passive coastlines [Figure 3.21, p. 109]).

Not to bad
This book is able to turn people on to Shakespeare. The author has a creative way of telling you about Shakespeare without telling a timeline. I feel this is a good book for people who like and dislike Shakespear alike. In the end Barroll makes his point and leaves the reader convinced of his opinion.

A Nice Primer
This short book (under 100 pages) tackles oneof the more enigmatic books in the New Testament. After a brief intro which outlines the chapter, the book is divided into 2 sections. The first covers key themes and images of Revelation in literature, from Alpha and Omega to Michael to Millenium. The 2nd part is the unabridged version of Revelation (from the New Jerusalem Bible).

While its not the last word on translations, "Revelation: The Apocalypse of St. John (The Classic Bible Series)" is a nie introduction to deeper understanding and also shows its influence on our culture.

Beutiful book about the glamorous seaplanes;but many errors.
This is a big beautiful book about the glamorous seaplanes that flew the oceans. The illustrations are excellent. However, the text contains many errors. For example: the aircooled Bristol Jupiter engine is listed as watercooled, Martin and Osa Johnson had one S-39 and one S-38, not two S-38's, the Sikorsky S-42 was not designed to be appreciably larger than the S-40, the S-42 was designed with much lower drag so that it could go faster and farther. While a matter of opinion, the choice of planes did not include the Aeromarine Curtis 75, the first Flying Boat in regular America-Overseas service, nor the VS-44, that joined the Boeing 314 Clippers in providing flying service between Europe and America early in WW11. Also it would have been nice to have some illustrations of the later Latecoere's, not just the early 300 model.
