This book was a huge disappointment to me . I was expecting more since Asimov's name is printed on the cover . This book is for kids ,not for adults . Be careful !

This is first draft of a potentially excellent book. The few brief pages about the history of Shabbat observance tantalized me, but I wished that the author had fleshed out the information he provided. Furthermore, the section ends with bullet points, and I wonder why he didn't actually write something about those topics. By reviewing the table of contents, you would expect most of the book to be devoted to history rather than to activities for families with children.

I expect quite a bit from books published by Aronson because of their very high prices. Their publication, "Jewish Views of the Afterlife," was a tremendous feat of accessible scholarship that was entirely worth paying for. "Every Person's Guide to Shabbat" is unfortunately not in the same category. At the very least, an editor should have addressed grammar and writing style.

If you're looking for a good book on the Sabbath, I'd recommend "Friday Night and Beyond" by Lori Palatnik, also published by Aronson. It contains no history lessons, but does present detailed descriptions of Shabbat rituals and numerous anecdotes about the joy and sacredness of the day.

This "book" is an incredible accumulation of distortions of both science and religion. Manley has no idea what evolution is about, who the main scientists involved are, or the laws of biology. He also has no idea about what Christianity is about. The best thing that can be said for Manley's book is that it will serve as a very good example of how not to write books on scientific subjects.

Written in the 1950's, this book displays a remarkable lack of research and fact. Read S.W. Harman's 'Hell on the Border' instead. The book reflects more about the time it was written than the the person it is describing.

I read the entirety of the Robot City series, hoping it would get interesting. I can report to you that it does not, and there are many flaws as well. For example, there are alien species in this book. If you know Asimov, this should make you cringe. Avoid this book.

For a second edition the text, figures, and tables are riddled with errors, in some sections almost a mistake a page. The text is too frequently interuppted by data, making it difficult to read.
