Great compendium to any Psych 101 course
This collection of essays is a great secondary reader to assign with your psychology 101 text book. It is filled with well written, clear, and compelling critiques of mainstream psychological approaches. This book isn't "critical," but offers a "critique," which means it pushes the underlying assumptions of psychology to their limit and explores their implications. My students really benefited from the perspective, and it created a lot of good conversations in class.

Asimov's Book Shines Light on the Dark Ages
Was the real Attila a canine cartoon character? Did the Vandals really vandalize Rome? Why can't France and Germany ever seem to get along? The answers to these questions and more are contained in "The Dark Ages," an excellent volume from a youth history series by Isaac Asimov, best known for his works of science fiction. This book is clear, comprehensive, and still interesting to the contemporary reader of history, whether older child, teen, or adult. The reader will fill in the gaps in his/her knowledge, and gain deeper insight into the formation of European society as the Roman Empire faded and feudal Europe began to develop.

Wonderful collection of stories of pre-war Poland
Wonderfully written and translated collection of stories, for both adults and children. Written of a boy growing up in pre-war Poland, it gives a taste of the life of the time, and what it was like to be there, in an era that no longer exists. The stories are especially enjoyed by children, with characters that children can identify with. It is also a good introduction for children to life in the pre-Holocaust years. The book envelopes the reader in the warmth of the writers household, and you feel like you grew up there; you feel a personal rapport with the protagonist. I recommend this book to anyone interested in Jewish life in pre-war Europe, or those interested in furthering their children's background in Jewish life of the time. The classic stories for children in the second half of the book can be enjoyed by all.

Grandfather telling stories...
To enjoy listening to stories told by grandfather, you don't necessarily have to be a child! As a matter of fact, it is a life virtue to enjoy these stories told by Isaac Bashevis Singer, regardless of age. They are set in the now vanished Hassidic community of pre-II World War, but their moral content transcends time and space, and although they are soaked in Jewishness they equally appeal to the open-minded reader. Beware that out of the seventeen tales in this editon, 14 are included in "My Father's Court," by the same author.

Study based on Qualitative Research Interviews
A refreshing treatment of alternative economic organization. In a casual and conversational manner the author saves us the sugar coated reviews of the all-but magical Kerala development story and dives right into the reality of an industrial cooperative in an Indian state that is breaking all of the capitalist rules and still winning the game! A must read for anyone interested in the struggle to transform exploitation into cooperation and voluntary participation. This book is a breath of fresh air in the sometimes stale realm of economic literature. Includes detailed analysis of organizational structure of Kerala Dinesh Beedi.

Differential Games
This is the original book on differential games. It is as relevant today as when it was written nearly 40 years ago. The book introduces all the main concepts and equations in differential games. This is achieved without recourse to heavy theorems or proofs. A central feature is the use of many and varied examples of differential games; the homoicidal chauffeur, wars of attrition, pursuit with a rocket, etc. These bring the whole field alive with potential. Another element is the use of geometry and pictures to describe game evolution. This book is a must for anyone interested in modern autonomous systems.

Great book, a must read for real science fiction addicts.
This is the introductin into a unique view of the universe. Isaac Asimov created a universe with six star faring races, humans being the latest addition. The big blow to these races is that there is evidence of a much greater race that left the galaxy long before any of the other races had even achieved consciousness. This is a collection of stories written by various science fiction writers based on the initial guidelines set down by Isaac Asimov. A must read!

A must for bedtime reading
A friend lent me her copy and within moments I knew I had to have a copy for my children. In this day and age it is sometimes hard to find something to connect those little teachable moments we have with our little ones with the things we really want them to know. I know that the minutes right before they fall asleep when prayers are said and everyone is tucked in that this book becomes a tool that I can use to savor those moments and make them really worthwhile.
