Notes are the bridges between professional relationships, and can determine the future of your business. Whether it be a thank you note for the previous day's lunch, the birth of an employees child, even the kind of pen to use, Isaacs covers everything you need to know about writing successful business notes. I may be biased, but I know a good piece of writing
I am a cousin of Mr. Goodfriend and I have known him all my life. Many of the people in the pictures in this book are relatives of mine. Thus, my opinion may appear biased. However, I read a lot and feel that I am capable of recognizing a well-written piece of art. This book is stunning in its honesty and compelling in its depiction of Mr. Goodfriend's inner struggles. His brilliance shines through every page of this book.

The Art of Concision
Isaac Bábel considered himself a master of silence. Cavalerie Rouge demonstrates his concise style, straight to the point, stopping when there was nothing else to say, which made him an extraordinary storyteller.

Escellent book for parents that want the best for the kids
I first read this book in english in the year 1985. Then I've read it in spanish by the year 1990. And it is surprisingly how modern it is, althought the time passes by. I strongly recommend all parents to read it. It is really worthwhile, and it helps a lot when raising a child is the theme. Mr. Isaacs asseses the theory with the practice in a natural way, and "makes it easy" the task to be a parent. This book was one of the rocks my wife and I used to raise our 7 children.

What are you made of?
Asimov does a good job describing the process of the human body's in take and use of chemicals. From the air we breath, the food we eat, the effect of sun on our skin (making Vitamin D) and many more. Step by step explaination. Some with diagram. All simplified and in a language a non-medical person can understand.

A stunning mini-portrait of Mexico. A sensitve translation
This is a fascinating look at a little-known side of Mexico from the perspective of a Polish-born Mexican writing in Yiddish. Illustrated by Diego Riviera, Berliner writes with energy and emotion. A wonderful combination of Jewish sensitivity and Mexican passion. The sensitive translation makes City of Palaces a joy to read and the kind of book that will rest on my bedside table when in need of inspiration.

A must have for teachers of US History
This book ages well. Everytime I turn to it as a resource I am amazed at the wealth of information and ideas for projects. The book is broken into four parts: Profiles of Students in Action; A History of Citizen Movements; Techniques for Participation; and Student Activities. The histories of the civil rights, labor, women's rights, consumer and environmental movements are rich and concise. The student's activities are meaningful, challenging, purposeful and appropriate for teenagers.

Cope Really Works
I bought Cope before it came to Amazon. It's about time it's being sold here! Having tried other kinds of self-help books and tapes for depression, Cope is truly different. "Mass market paperback" is NOT the right description. With Cope you actually use booklets and a free telephone system that can be used 24/7. I've never seen anything like Cope, and I've tried a lot of self-help programs for my depression. The examples used in Cope and the interactive exercises were really helpful. It only took a few weeks before I began feeling better, and the booklets have continued to provide support for me. Cope was better than some of the live therapists I've gone to. While the voice on the telephone is prerecorded, it's hard to tell because he responds to your issues and is really comforting. I know that sounds hokey, but it's true. Cope really helped me.
